@Liverpool_Anne , thank you for all your encouragement to me and others , which along with Mrs SD and many others keeps us going.
I remember fondly a blue check cheesecloth shirt with a tie waist...I counted and have I think 8 pairs of cream/ beige trousers from linen/ cotton etc. Steer clear of white itself. Very wary of light coloured tops, too risky with food:)
Going to look at my 'posher' hobbs etc dresses not worn for years and think will I ever really wear and if not straight to Cs.
Have too many jugs and cleaned with dilute vinegar and came up really well. Will think how many to keep, one ceramic has already gone and others earlier and last year.14 -
It is hard to find motivation in the heat. I cleaned out my tinned food cupboard this morning. 6 tins are best before next month /August so we may as well use them up in the next month.
Some pics of Taylor Swift if anyone is interested. My husband took these on his phone and they aren't that great.🤣

Finally took down the curtains that were too small for the new track.
I've also taken the curtains and the bag of stuff that was lurking around the place to the charity shop yesterday.
Sorry for being awol and not doing much decluttering.
I aim to declutter basic housework today (vacuuming floors, washing up, giving the bath and sink a quick clean and mopping floors).
Plus a load of washing is in the machine now.
I'm not sure or keen on the cheap powder I bought from Morrisons. It cleans okay, but leaves a powdery residue on the clothes and is really noticeable, especially as I wear a lot of dark colours.
I've big box of Tesco non bio powder to use, then I may stick to the liquid.
I know it's cheaper with the powder, but would rather not have the powder marks.
Unless I'm putting too much in?

Tuesday is a bright day & the sun is already making an attempt to get through 🙂 Lots of white clouds with a few grey ones & already a decent amount of blue sky 😊 Temperature is already 21C at 11:00 🥳 We got up later today - just gone 09:15. We pottered a bit & I decided not to go out with DH as he is only getting pictures of old landmarks & it would have meant getting on & off the bike at least 15 times 😧 I made coffee & a bacon sandwich for each of us, which we had outside listening to the birds & enjoying the sunshine & the occasional breeze. DH left about 10:50 & I sat down with my iPad ready to resume cheerleading with a second cuppa. Best laid plans & all that 😂 Our hosts came back from their walk & breakfast out so whilst Mr pottered about Mrs & I put the world to rights over the next 2.5 hours whilst sitting in the garden🙊 getting warm in the sunshine & enjoying the birdsong. It is so peaceful here 😊 Apparently the temperature is 22C but it definitely feels warmer ☀️ I am now indoors in the cool & will spend a bit of time reading a book & then will come back later & do some cheerleading 😉

Walked into town this morning. Met some friends who asked Mr F how he was - he replied fine. Well he feels alright but doesn't look it - the weight loss has made him start to look ill.
Tomorrow afternoon he is having a chest xray - I will be asking if the pleural effusion has remained the same or increased.
We are at friendship/lunch club in the morning. Late afternoon I am going in the mini bus with SA children for their music lessons.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Oh my gosh, it's just too hot. No idea how anyone gets anything done in hotter European countries. Realised that the bins go out tonight and I'd not maximised the use of my recycling; so I had a scout round to have a look for any paperwork to fill the bag up with. I then got a bit sidetracked looking through some puzzles with DS.Digital:

@Floss , I think we may move to a more Mediterranean lifestyle. Apparently evidence that people are exercising later in the evening.
Mrs SD I will count frogs in the 2nd half of the year. Not doing so has focused my mind on physical declutter... although the practicalities have been slower.
Fingers crossed dd2 will have a sort her room and study when home next week but will tidy more to try and set an example12 -
Urgh, slowly decluttering my sanity as the sellers of our new house continue to move glacially slowly whilst arguing with each other. Meanwhile our buyers are pushing us for a moving date.12

DH got back about 16:45 - a successful trip as he got all the old landmarks on his list + one we missed yesterday. He was rained on but it was a welcome relief from the heat 😊 It has also been drizzling here on & off since about 15:15. I have spent the afternoon reading a book & am just over halfway through. As DH didn’t have anything to eat whilst he was out I made him another bacon sandwich. Dinner was fish & chips 🤤 Another very pleasant & companionable evening but indoors as it continued drizzling on & off for the rest of the evening. We have packed 2 of our 3 bags, as we are heading back into England tomorrow. I managed to finish the book Portrait of a Murderer by Anne Meredith & very good it was too even though not my usual reading material. I never did get around to doing much catching up with the cheerleading but no excuses tomorrow evening 😉
Florenceem, what a lovely memory & so nice that you could help out 😊
QueenJess, I know it is a pain but, apart from the books, your parents were fairly restrained this time around compared to other visits 😉 However, they rather spoilt it by telling you they still have “loads of stuff” 😔 I will keep my fingers & toes crossed that they were exaggerating 🤞More Excellent decluttering 👏
What a lovely empathetic & supportive post -taff 🥹
daisy_1571, some great ideas there but apart from clearing her parents loft in one go I have a feeling that QueenJess is fighting a losing battle with her parents 😔 😕
Cwtches to all 🤗
