Well, work didn't get any easier, and I really think I have gone crazy, but at least I have some time off this week.
To top it all, our brand new acrylic bath got a chip last night. 50% my husband leaving loads of stuff on a bath caddy balanced across the tub, 50% me and my thunder feet walking past the bath, 100% gravity. Adjust those percentages for luck/clumsiness/each other's perspective.
I found some DIY vids, I'm confident OH can fix it. I'm confident I could fix it to be honest, but he won't let me. And we must do without the bath caddy in future, it has been decided. Shame it looked quite cool, but it was only just long enough, and as it turns out, it totally wasn't.
The decluttering has been going apace though. I'm not entirely sure what we have removed from the house, but let's see how much I can remember since 16th June when we were on 1244/2024.
2 recycling boxes of shredded post.
1 more coat
1 butter dish
1 spice rack
1 plastic tub
2 old tins
6 pairs of old work boots/shoes
1 draught excluder
1 old cat carrier
1 Christmas pudding
4 sets of candles/holders
1 tea cosy
2 teapots
2 mugs/cups
7 Christmas crackers
3 bags rubble
3 bags flour
1 bag old nuts
1 bag tea.
5 old food colourings
5 cake decorations
1 broken Dalek eggcup.
2 carpet grips
1 piece dowelling
1 piece floor edging
2 walking canes
1 campbed
2 ponchos
1 glass jar full of pebbles
6 bowls
4 dinner plates
3 side plates
1 doll - sold by auction.
That's all I can think of for now... so 1244 + 76 = 1320

We had the Dr's appointment this morning - no results back about the colonoscopy which was 5 weeks ago.
Last week's blood test results were back - liver function up a bit and kidney function down.
Dr changed Mr F's diuretic tablets dosage - it hadn't been altered on his records so he kept running out of them.
We went shopping on the way home - got in 5800 steps today so far.
Walked up the High Street with one of the local rough sleepers - he is sleeping in a Victorian shelter on the sea front - very different to their intended use when built for genteel folk to take a rest while out for a constitutional.

Hellooo all
I have just read through 85 posts playing catch up, some great decluttering going on!
I have been AWOL due to work and then a short trip to York, which was lovely and a much needed break. Not back to work properly until later in the week - and thank goodness because it's due to hit the big 3-0 in degrees tomorrow & Wednesday. The tube ride would be like a smelly armpit 🤢
Not much decluttering done prior to the weekend trip but on my return I have decluttered/recycled:
1 x electric fan box & packaging
2 x ornament box (from gifts bought when away)
1 x paper bag
Got to sort out the rest of my unpacking still! Did the holiday return wash on Sunday evening and put it up on the airer; probably bone dry by now 🤣
Mum managed to break an ornament when I was away so I've been allocated the task of repairing it! I did pop some glue on it this afternoon and hopefully it's set ok by now. Again in this heat it shouldn't take long to dry.
Not much else to report at the moment because it's hard to move without breaking a sweat!16 -
@wishus sorry to hear about the bath
alot of declutterinf going on at yours.
Proud of myself for putting coast skirt, lovely jig, 2 pairs of trousers and other items in cs bag and not trying to sell, been dropped off along with bag of coins to cs and folders/ files to donation hub, and some paper declutter so 950 for a nice round number.
As psychologically big things to go ( against my natural cannyness ) I thought would make mote difference in the house but still so cluttered ! 3 items in textile recycling 953.
Dd1 not well and having panic attacks/ vomiting so can't do placement:( and then vicious cycle of more anxiety. Thinking if she can overcome these then I should be able to overcome my clutter!
Have been following everyone journeys, Mrs SD's physical adventure and others physical and declutterinf emotional as well as physical. Remember the tlc carriage

Monday: Bright start cloudy but sunny. Slept fairly well 2 + 3 + 1.5 hrs. I was awake early 07:30 but didn’t get up until 8:05. We packed 2 bags & loaded them into the bike on the way to breakfast at 8:40. DH had his usual cooked breakfast but I wasn’t particularly hungry so had scrambled eggs on toast with a couple of rashers of bacon. Lovely coffee from a machine. Went back to the room & finished packing the last bag, collected our coats & were on the road by 10:05 just as the sun went in & the clouds turned dark & covered all the blue sky 😕 Most of todays riding was on motorways which meant that there were not many animal sightings other than when we were on A roads - cows, sheep, horses & a new animal - donkeys. However I did finally see a second deer - sadly I am not sure if it would live to see another day 😔 I spotted it as we were going down a slip road to the M80 - fields to the left of us & to the right a wooded area separating us from the M80. This is where I saw the deer. Really hoping it changed its mind about crossing the road & managed to make its way safely back to the field 🤞🙏 With the low cloud cover we did have 3 or 4 light showers but not one of them lasted more than 3 minutes 🥳 Thirty minutes after the last one the clouds started dissipating, blue skies were visible & the sun came out with a vengeance 😊 We stopped off & had coffee & cake + an ice cream for DH. We have finished collecting the last of this year’s landmarks & only have some old ones that DH would like to take pictures of. We arrived at our fellow decluteratti’s place about 16:30 - all hot & bothered as we are wearing winter riding gear & the temperatures went up to 24C 🥵 A very warm welcome from Mrs & Mr 😊 We sat out in the garden drinking coffee/tea with DH & I taking it in turns to shower & change. Blue skies, sunshine & bird song & lots of chat - what more could one want 😊 DH & I were treated to a delicious dinner of chicken stuffed with sausage & leek, onion mash, peas & sweetcorn followed by a bowl of mixed berries, grapes & banana covered with evaporated milk. We then moved back out to the garden & watched & listened to the birds + we saw a hedgehog & a bat 🥳 The hedgehog was a new addition to the garden wildlife so our hosts were happy as was my DH who hadn’t seen in a live hedgehog in about 40 years 🥳 Spent the rest of the evening chatting about places already visited & to visit + swapping biker ‘war’ stories 😉 Finally parted company about 22:30 just as dusk was settling in 😊 All in all a fabulous day🤩 As I woke up after 4 hours sleep & didn’t post yesterday, I have written up Monday’s adventures & will do a bit of cheerleading before going back to bed for an hour or two 🙂
Lovely supportive post vulpix 😊 Great idea for sorting out your wardrobe 👏 I have the same issue - bigger bottom half 😉 Although I tend tend to cover up with baggy tops 😅 with quite a few being appropriated from my DH 😂 My issue in the wardrobe is fleeces rather than coats 😉 Absolutely love the idea of an emergency evening dress 😊 It sounds like your idea for the book/screenplay is starting to gel & I will wait patiently (or not 😂) for the final version 😌 Good luck with the wardrobe clear out 🍀
Florenceem, it must be a bit confusing getting so many letters at once 😔 I see that you are still very busy at SA - just wondering if C has gone on holiday yet? Good luck with the tabletop sale 🍀 Sending cwtches to you both but with an especially large one for you Florenceem 🤗 I hope that you have a family member or a friend whom you can talk to about your concerns 🙏
Florafauna absolutely everything crossed that the sellers of your new house get the paperwork done immediately 🤞 Moving house is stressful enough without having to chase people for paperwork 😔 Meanwhile excellent work with all the clearing out & packing 👏
Mrs_Money_Penny, thank you for sharing your story 🙂 Excellent decluttering especially the items from your sewing cabinet 👏
Excellent decluttering QueenJess 👏 That cake looks delicious 🤤 I just popped into the TLC Carriage but sadly I missed out - just a few crumbs on the plate 😉 Maybe next time 🤞
Florenceem, hopefully you managed to pop into the TLC Carriage & have a slice of cake 🤞
TC77, so sorry to hear about DD1’s current issues - no wonder you are feeling overwhelmed 😔 No matter how old your children are you still worry & wish you could wave a magic wand 🪄 Great work dealing with frogs 👏 & I think you should record them in your numbers 😊
Cwtches to all 🤗 but especially large & gentle ones to those who are struggling 🤗

Hi all,
@Vulpix good to know the Shetland islands are midge free. Funnily enough I never wear white trousers, I am much too prone to collecting dirt, even a white t shirt is a risk
, I do wear cream or beige in the summer though and I do have a few of those
. I also loved cheesecloth and had several shirts and a couple of wrap around maxi skirts. I have heard a rumour around the fashion pages that cheesecloth is coming back
@QueenJess, scrummy cake. Sorry to hear the parents arrived with more things, I really have no suggestions other than what others have said, hugs. I do agree about the sorting toys by gender. I remember asking for a train one Christmas and was distraught to get miniature household appliances and a doll, not my thing at all and I don't think I ever played with them. Hope decluttering your job means a less stressful time for you even if it is only for a few months, hugs
@TC77 sorry for your DDs troubles, hope you can get it sorted.
@Mrs SD, lovely photos. Those gates are a beaut, wonder what the house looks like if they have an entrance like that. Sorry to hear about your accident, hope you are both fully recovered, hugs
@weenancyinAmerica I can't help agreeing with daisy that the kitten is going to be more work for you, especially as it's male, much more likely to spray etc. Can you get help to get it neutered as that does help with that, although I think the best time to rehome is now while it is young before he gets used to living with you.
@Wednesday2000 glad you enjoyed Taylor Swift apart from the screaming girls, never understand that myself and they can hit a certain pitch that just makes you want to say shut up and listen to the music.
@wishus what a shame about the bath, hope you can fix it, hugs
Well I seem to have lost a day in my notes so I think I have probably forgotten somethingI have been quite busy batch cooking and the freezer is absolutely rammed but it does mean I can stay in the garden longer on these sunny days without having to worry about what we will have for tea
. I have spent a bit of time decluttering the kitchen and various things have been binned / recycled without reference to OH again as I am just fed up with them hanging around and never being used and just generally getting in the way. Yesterday we went to Oye, an afro Caribbean festival in the local park but it was very busy and unfortunately we couldn't find anywhere to park that was close enough for OH to walk so we ended up just going for lunch but it was a nice day anyway.
Right off to get another cuppa, hugs to anybody who would like one
Since I last posted
907 & 908 kitchen bin
909 loads of veg
910 a never to be bought again aubergine pasta sauce incorporated into a veg stew.

912 lr bin

Lovely post daisy_1571 😊
TC77, pleased to hear that the email wasn’t as bad as anticipated 😮💨 I would definitely count frogs dealt with in your numbers 😊
Lovely post vulpix 😊Some great decluttering 👏 although I would keep both the evening dress & the flapper dress for our ‘virtual Orient Express trip’ ☺️ Remember that when we board the EDT we will all look like the version of ourselves that we were most happy with 😉 - so no aches & pains, no arthritic knees etc 😂 The white linen trousers sound great - you can be our Katherine Hepburn - very avant garde for our trip 😊
butterfly2507, shame you couldn’t use V*nted to sell the electronics 😔 Hope your Sunday was filled with fun pursuits 🤞
GrannyKate, no childcare for a couple of days - sounds like you should be making hay whilst the sun shines 😉 Some great decluttering 👏 Ditto Floss’s remark “I love your DD's fostering of the unloved colander!” 😅
How unfortunate Brie 😱
vulpix, another fan of cheesecloth 😊 So cool when we had hot summers or even just a hot few days👏☺️ I hope you wore sunscreen & a hat to do the gardening 🙂
Only 3 pages behind now 😊
