I filled the shopping trolley again yesterday - more craft stuff going - even getting rid of fabric which is a biggie for me!
Mr F took the stuff to the charity shop - the woman there said that the tins were worth money.
Went to SA today - I was short of volunteers - but the ones I had stepped up and all was well. I think we did about 45 meals.
I was running around - when I told Mr F that I had done over 6000 steps - he said what at the SA?
After our meal - I was counting with C - I left home at 10 and got home after 4. I did deliver a dinner & pudding on my way home but it wasn't much out of my normal route.
There were messages left on Mr F's office phone yesterday. He sorted them this morning - one was the hospital wanting him to return and the GP wanting him to make a visit. He also got a letter for an appointment at the respiratory clinic.
Tomorrow we are going to his micro suction - 3 buses there and another 3 home - I am planning an easy meal afterwards.
We now have 2 hospital appointments on Friday. Mr F has a hearing test then he has to see the doctor who drained fluid from around his lung last week.
When I got home there was a card through the door - wanting us to pay £5 for an unstamped letter - marked - possibly hospital?
Another tin of buttons - think this one is 1950s..

@Muddy_Walker - well done for speaking up, that takes a lot of courage. I am so glad that you are being offered help and that your boss is being supportive.@vulpix - I was so pleased to read that something is finally happening for your husband! It has been an extraordinarily long wait without any information.@nannywindow - wishing you belated Happy Birthday wishes 🥳
@Mrs_Salad_Dodger - fantastic well done for completing your embroidery. Sorry Mr SD got scammed. I sympathise as it happened to me during the lockdowns. Never will I buy anything sold via FB again. When I did some digging and traced the company owners, I saw that they were constantly setting up and closing different businesses.
@crazybunnylady4 - welcome to you and your very cute rabbit.@~FlowerPot~ - your daughter has done so well to get through all her exams. I hope you can all relax through the summer. Well done to you for all the effort and support that you have provided your children.
I can’t remember what I have been up to when I am pottering and fiddling about, however I have been weeding, tidying and planting in the garden. We took a load of bindweed and things we don’t compost to the recycling centre today. Also, polystyrene from packaging and various stuff that Mr MV had collected up from his garage sorting. It still looks like we haven’t sorted the garage in years unfortunately.
I had a go through the aged condiments in the cupboard and washed out the remaining contents of four bottles. One of the best before dates was 2004! In truth I never use gravy browning but I think it was in a recipe I once tried for Christmas cake. I couldn’t get it to move from the bottle at all so had to wrap that one and put it in the bin. Another go through the fridge and I had to put some mushrooms, courgettes and lettuce into the food waste. I tried to dispose of a slice of out of date ham but Mr MV insisted on eating it. He seems fine so far. I don’t like wasting food but the vegetables started to rot quicker than I would expect for some reason.Sewing wise, I have completed some garments for GC and myself so I am free to start something new now.13 -
Evening all, just popping on to post a small update:
Work zoomed by. We are in the process of refunding some customers for a closure date so my manager had me on the emails ALL morning (9am - 1pm) and then had admin to do after lunch (2 -4pm) and then did a little bit of training 4-5pm with one of the newer girls on our team, who is a proper sweetheart. So all in all a productive day.
DM was complaining last night that she can't get on with her new glasses and luckily she is under the 100 day guarantee on them, so she called the opticians today and they said she doesn't need to book a appt since her prescription was only renewed 6 weeks ago, so will drive her up there next week so sort it out.
She found some old leaflets from the hospital while she was trying to find the opticians phone number so she checked with me if she still needed them - she didn't, so they've gone in the recycling!
Otherwise a very chilled evening, simple dinner, DW doing its thing and bunny due for his run about the place soon. Then bed; rinse and repeat tomorrow!13 -
Hi, we seem to be having a good run of luck. DD1 got the job. I don't know if we will be able to squeeze a visit in before she moves back to England.
There is a viewing on the house tomorrow, lets hope it's included in the good luck.
The weather forecast is dry tomorrow, I plan to empty my bike shed and do a spot of gardening.

Finally back now that iPad is fully charged 🙂 DH has been busy - he decided that as he was quite successful yesterday in creating space in the shed, he would tackle the garage 😧 So he has binned a hose pipe, adding the metal bits to the metals bag for the Tip + a metal cage, an old PlayStation, a large garden coil hosepipe, more metal bits & a small bag of general detritus + a cardboard box which was surplus to requirements. More work needs doing but he was happy with what he did manage to do 😊 I found a way to remove the pen marks on my embroidery project - I made up a very dilute cleaning solution using hand washing liquid with warm water, then using cotton buds to gently remove the marks. I felt like the lady on the Repair Shop who restores paintings 😂 I will repeat the process tomorrow & then hunt out the iron 😉 DH popped out to pick up some milk. Dinner for DSis & me was the rest of the cottage pie whilst DH had sausages in buns. Wudupa.
896 - 898 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, cardboard box - recycled
899 - 902 Kitchen & garage detritus, hosepipe - binned
903 - 907 Coil hose, bag of small metal bits, metal cage, last of the metal bits from a broken bird feeding station, an old broken PlayStation - for Tip run
I do better with the cheerleading earlier in the day so will catch up tomorrow 😉 P.S. it stayed dry all day 🙂 Sleep tight 😴

Morning All, quick hello, holiday was amazing, all inclusive so a proper break. Wish we could go back already.
Was straight back into life of the washing, food shop, decluttered the allotment of 5ft weeds (well OH and DS did, much appreciation to them).
Work is all good, no stress but a large event coming up so will be getting busier as head towards it.
Off to catch up on 30 pages!12 -
Managed to declutter 48 items this morning while getting ready to leave for the hospital.
I am getting rid of more yarn and a necklace plus empty jewellery boxes.
I am packing my shopping trolley but it won't be taken to the charity shop before Saturday as tomorrow will be taken up with hospital appointments.
Got our packed lunches ready - one loaf was mouldy when I went to use it - doesn't last long in warm weather. Mr F likes Rye bread - his loaf is okay.

I went for a walk to Chalkwell beach today as it was nice and sunny this morning. While I was walking I was thinking that we need to start eating our stores of food before we move and then I will just buy what we need week to week. I'm going to start planning our meals around that idea. I want to pack as little as possible.
I'm getting ahead of myself as we haven't found a house yet! I did see a bungalow online today near Botany Bay which would be a lovely spot, but might be too far from the main town and train station for us as we don't drive.

That was what made think of it as I cleaned out my fridge yesterday. I have 20 condiments/jars in my fridge! My husband only uses the ketchup and the jam so it is obviously my fault. We have a tiny fridge too so I really need to make sure I am using everything I buy.🤩2025 GOALS

Stayed up late enough to pay the milkman 😉 Thursday is another bright but cloudy day & quite breezy. I got up very late (13:00) & with a headache which will hopefully be cured by my first cuppa. DH is pottering about in the garage & DSis is in her room having set the wm going. So I will go straight into cheerleading
Thanks crazybunnylady4 🙂 Thank you for sharing your life with us 😊 I think your Dad was what we like to call a ‘collector’ 😉 Hopefully as Mac settles in even more he will discover the joy of just chilling out 😎 + It hasn’t really been that long since you lost Toffee so I am not surprised that you are missing him 😔 Excellent decluttering 👏 DW jenga - love it 😊 Hopefully work isn’t too stressful although not sure I would ever have managed getting up at 6:00 a.m. 😥
weenancy, sorry to hear that the pinched nerve in your back is causing you such issues 😔 Having read ahead I have seen vulpix’s post & would like to echo what she said “Everything you do is for other people, there must be some help out there that could pick up the slack with your housemates for a month. Unfortunately I know it would be down to you to find the help but short term pain, long term gain” What a brilliant turn out for the Friends of the Library meeting 🥳🤩 Sounds like everyone had a great time & has gone away newly energised to make their libraries the most successful they can be 😊 As to your personal library of books - amazing 🤩 & scary 😱
~FlowerPot~, I think I saw your ‘mojo’ heading off hand in hand with mine 😉 I am hoping that they are just on a scouting mission to make sure everything is OK for our Orient Express trip 🤞
vulpix, that sounds very painful 😰 Great news about MrV’s hospital date 👏
Wednesday2000, could you point me in the right direction for fridge organising boxes, please 🙏 Shame that the cheque wasn’t for you 😉
Brilliant decluttering QueenJess 👏 Keeping everything crossed that you can find/create some time to list on Buy Nothing 🤞
Sorry to hear that DH was a bit poorly on your birthday nannywindow 😔 but pleased that the day was enjoyed by everyone despite your Dad behaving like a ‘disgruntled toddler’ 😉 Excellent decluttering & tidying 👏Your birthday celebrations appear to have reinvigorated you 😊 I was on the same soapbox 😂 whereas DH just took it in his stride 😎
QueenJess, I thought yesterday was supposed to be your day off 😉 More excellent decluttering 👏 & I am very impressed that you ‘let go of’ the bird food tin 🤩 Keeping my fingers crossed that you can get DH on board with decluttering his tat from your shed sooner rather than later🤞 I am enjoying the conversation between you & Floss 😊 You both have a way of highlighting how complex decluttering can be 😉 It is not just about decluttering physical items but also about our own experiences & attitudes to clutter 🧐
More excellent decluttering Florenceem 👏 Very, very impressed that you are decluttering fabric 🤩 Never thought I would see the day 😉 Love, love, love the tin 😍 I went down a rabbit hole of Horner tins 😅 + the contents look very interesting 😊 Fingers crossed that all MrF’s appointments will yield positive results 🤞🙏 A diabolically high charge to receive a letter 👿
Lovely cheerleading post Moorviews 😊 My DH has also vowed never to buy anything from FB again. He checked up (too late) & it was a scam company from the ‘usual’ part of the world 😡 Some excellent decluttering by both you & MrMV 👏 If our garage is anything to go by, your garage will be an ongoing project 😔 My DH tidies up every few months & various bits get thrown out but it is never quite enough 🙊 Shame about the vegetables but sm vegetables seem to be poorer quality than usual this year 😔 Well done on completing your sewing projects 👏 & good luck with your new project 🍀
crazybunnylady4, that sounds like a great day at work 😊 & definitely productive 👏 Shame that your DM is having problems with her glasses but pleased to hear that the issue can be resolved 😊
vulpix, congratulations to DD1 🥳 I usually find my good luck comes in Fours - so hopefully the house viewing will lead to an offer with the 4th lucky thing being that they are cash buyers 😉🤞 Hope the weather forecast is correct & you can sort out the bike shed & get some gardening done 🤞 However, please don’t overdo it 🙏
Lovely to see you back Fizz2015 👋 & so pleased to hear that you had such a marvellous holiday 🥳
Excellent decluttering Florenceem 👏 Hope the hospital visit goes well 🙏
Wednesday2000, never too early to plan & start your decluttering in anticipation of moving 😊 It will not only reduce the stress of moving but will put you in a position to pack up & move quickly 😉 Thanks for the reminder about cleaning & sorting the fridge 👏
All caught up 🥳 Hope everyone is having as good a day as possible& that the weather is being kind 🤞 Cwtches all round 🤗 & I will see you later 👋
