Hi, I just had to call in before I forget and list everything given their marching orders today, either thrift or tip.
another dustpan and brush. I had run the brush under the hot tap and shrivelled the bristles. haha
3 yard brushes
a rake
a watering can, too heavy for me to lift when full
a garden sieve
about 10 rubble sacks
an old washing up bowl
a hose pipe and reel
garden canes
some bonding stuff the builders left behind last year
some underlay from when we had new carpet last year, a bit of a theme developing here
some Victorian pine drawers with glass handles that I was going to renovate for DIL. She doesn't think she has the room so I will save myself a lot of work and pass it on
Also did a very small amount of gardening by planting some clematis and something I can't remember the name of and a bit of dead heading. The Christmas Pippin is laden but I expect a lot of baby apples to fall off soon. June drop. It is still cold here. I have come in and put the heating on. My shed looks great, I will be on the look out for some free shelves and also get the tools hung up on the wall. We are waiting for some consecutive dry days to empty the studio as I have promised to put down some flooring in there. Then we will empty the storage shed and sort that out. The less said about Mr V's bike shed the better.
Oh, Mr V also used up 2 half used cans of black spray paint on some speaker grilles.
I am using up oddments of wool, baby knits for the charity shop. I am getting very close to having to buy some new wool!
I know I am just putting off starting the quilt I have planned for grandbaby V.
I am so excited to have DD1 back soon and all her stuff gone out of the loft and spare room. DS and baby V are visiting on Monday, I have a pile of stuff for them on the spare bed too which includes a scuttle bike amongst other things!
Definitely much more stuff going out than coming in which is very pleasing. I will never be minimalist but I am certainly not cluttered these days.
Florenceem you are doing the right thing with your craft stash. Just keeping the stuff you know you will use is great and it also gives someone else a bargain.

Wednesday2000 said:I went for a walk to Chalkwell beach today as it was nice and sunny this morning. While I was walking I was thinking that we need to start eating our stores of food before we move and then I will just buy what we need week to week. I'm going to start planning our meals around that idea. I want to pack as little as possible.
I'm getting ahead of myself as we haven't found a house yet! I did see a bungalow online today near Botany Bay which would be a lovely spot, but might be too far from the main town and train station for us as we don't drive.Carolbee14 -
Great news from various declutterati, new jobs, new houses, new spaces appearing, medical appointments made and decluttered.
I'm keeping up with reading along but not really posting much these days. I'm currently lounging on a massage chair in the tlc carriage so if anyone wants a chat or to join me in listening quietly to some relaxing music please pop along. Plenty luxurious comfortable chairs are available. Thank you Mrs sd for kitting out the tlc carriage with everything we need ❤

Evening all
Hope everyone is well today!
Not much to report here - recycling bins are out for their weekly emptying. main rubbish bin out for its fortnightly empty. Although I had to run out about an hour ago as DMum put a magazine in there that she needed - shes seen these little plant trolleys that she wants me to order for her at the weekend. She's properly getting into her garden atm; she's been sorting out and doing all her potting after three separate garden centre trips (2 with me and 1 with her friend). Lovely to see her mobile as she has rheum. arth (I have NO idea how to spell either of those words so will use the abbreviations and hopefully everyone will know what I mean!!!) in her knee and its creeping up a couple of her fingers too.Work was okay again today - had a admin day in another part of the office as we often hotdesk and today with the new starters there were more people than desks. So I was reallocated, which is fine with me.Was a nice peaceful day just dealing with stuff.
@Mrs_Salad_Dodger - After three years I am finally getting the hang of it! It's not pleasant, but it is a world away from doing afternoon/evening work for theatre venues, usually doing weird hours from 5pm - 10/11pm or on double show days, 12noon till 10pm.
Now I am on what some people might call a more reasonable schedule and I do 8:30am - 5pm, so I catch a train into central London, my commute is about 45-60 mins altogether (1 bus, 1 train, 1 tube there as its quicker, and then 1 tube, 1 bus to get home). I only do four days a week at the moment; I missed out on a summer promotion due to a minor slip up so they turned me down for the higher ranks, so hopefully I can have a re-do next summer instead as its a seasonal position.13 -
Yesterday was exhausting - 3 buses there and 3 back - travelling for nearly 6 hours. Good news is - Mr F can hear better now!
It was warm yesterday then suddenly cooled down - strange weather.
When we finally got home - managed a cup of tea and biscuits before going to SA to lock up. I did some sorting of donations as I won't get there today.
Today I need to do a packed lunch again as we are off to the local hospital - Mr F is having a hearing test.
Then we have to go and see the Dr who drained the fluid from Mr F's chest - I am very anxious about the results.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

I echo what daisy has said Floreneem.
I have been thinking about all the stuff that went yesterday and waiting to go today. I brought it all with me when we moved here, never used it and it has been taking up room ever since. I am sure that if I go through my shed in the future I will find things to go that I thought I need to keep yesterday. It's like the Forth Bridge, never finished.
I am going to have a tidy under the stairs. It is getting difficult to put the hoover away. I have a butlers table which I think is the problem. I do use it when we have visitors but I think it needs to live in the shed. Or, brainwave moment,it can live in the spare room when DD1 takes all her shiz. Longterm in the spare room I want to condense 2 sets of drawers into one and give one set away. one set has spare linen the other craft stuff. One drawer is taken up with a huge bible which no body wants but Mr V won't get rid of.
I have to go and help put the drawers outside now as someone is collecting them shortly.

I’m over the line on neutral items, finally past the 300 mark. One organiser contacted me for more specific items for fundraising. They had been boxed up ready for the Christmas send but I never seal the boxes properly just in case I do need to access anything. Research behind the cost of items had already been done (I only buy items in a sale, I always look and think will it sell and will it make money for said charity, plus making sure there is a good selection of items for the charity running an auction of items).
This meant space in the box😉so other items popped in.20 neutral items requested and sent =319 neutral items out of the house which is very handy as the house is being overtaken by cuddly toys, very cheap in Asd@ that will be used for charity bags at Christmas……there are poodle and orangutan cuddly toys everywhere!!!!Decluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
