More decluttering today and actually managed to nail DH on getting rid of a few things that I had mentally listed in my head (yes, including the first aid tin). Every time I go into the loft, more stuff comes down and I really don't see the point of anything up there bar some large suitcases and a xmas tree anymore. Anything up there is forgotten about and so even if I'm saving it for something I don't remember it's there anyway. I'm not quite at the point of getting everything out of there, but I am definitely a long way towards doing it. Of course DH has a load of stuff up there, but I ignore that as it isn't my issue, although I did ask him to see if he wants to switch to a load of more sturdy boxes that are now free. Either way, it should mean more storage boxes to go at some point. Won't hold my breath on him sorting that out any time soon, but not really a concern at the moment.I noticed DH had new shoes on today that he sneakily bought recently and hoped I wouldn't notice *sigh*. He has a massive box of about 40 shoes he doesn't wear and I refused to store in the downstairs cupboard anymore AND he has the most number of shoes in the cupboard. Seriously... if he had 100 pairs of shoes but wore them all then fine, but he just wears the same few all the time. Is this a man thing? I once had a job at a college and when cleaning out and re-organising the science lab (think a hoarders paradise!) I found a pair of brand new shoes in their original bag with receipt bought in 1986 by the teacher there (this was in 2003...). He went all glazed when I suggested he actually use the shoes given he bought them and why on earth were they there and not even used in all that time?! The lab looked lovely when I had finished, but the teachers wife was very unhappy with me as he kept secreting stuff away and taking it home in boxesDigital:

Oh my goodness, poor Mr SD. Good that he is on the mend. You know it has never occurred to me to knit an adult jumper! Doh!
We started to give the sentry box some first aid. It was really expensive and tbh very poor quality. We gave up and listed it on Thrift. Gone in 2 minutes. Things consolidated, old shed paint and a rusted tool for the tip. Binned my life time collection of plant labels. Washed and oiled my garden tools. I came to put everything in my bike shed. 😧 I thought there was only a chest of drawers in there. O, no, no, no. Mr V has been using it as over flow for his tat. If it’s dry next week I will have everything out and he can shove his tat in his own shed! Or wherever it fits! For the chazzer a new set of garden table cloth clips and 2 plant pot holders.Vx:16 -

Mrs SD, I hope Mr SD is recovered and you and your DSis have not succumbed.
Not got near my target but did add a nigella cook book , unused and v heavy to CS bag, along with a couple of other things, a couple of thing I realise have marks so will go in next wash - washes had already been put
on, C bag dropped off, casserole dish out, 2 old cloths retired, paint decluttered onto a garden wall and garden stuff out., paper out, and some cleaning done so dust and dirt decluttered.

Hugs to Mr. S_D - hope he is feeling much better now.
I have spent the last two weeks taking care of my sister and her dog - sister had foot surgery and doggy needs to be carried out to the yard several times a day. Very tiring. Spent most of my time watching House Hunter International - saw multiple seasons of it. Not much else got done except when I would take off for a couple of hours to take someone to the doctor. This next few days I will be concentrating on getting ready for a big meeting of other Friends of the Library Groups at my local library. Then I can relax a bit.
Having to use a walker right now to get around. Actually gets me around faster than just walking without it.
Have decided to buy a bookcase for the living area to help get rid of the boxes of books lying around. Finally figured where to put it - now it is just a matter of paying for it!13 -
1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks + a weekly Mini Mission in May
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 9:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Added July’s 1p Challenge amount to Terramundi pot. DH was feeling a lot better so he & DSis took the car & went shopping. (Forgot to mention that DSis & I had burger & fries for dinner last night) The sm was obviously busy as DH & DSis were gone for 2.5 hours 😔 I put away all the shopping once they got back. Sunday has been a beautiful sunny & warm day 😊 DSis & I watched the BGT Final & were very disappointed at the result 😔 Dinner was chicken fried in butter, boiled new potatoes, sweetcorn & peas 😋 DH is thankfully completely recovered & thoroughly enjoyed his dinner. As I've been lying in bed trying not to think about this work meeting later (clearly failed whilst I was asleep as I had weird dreams about forgetting to go and being really late, then not being able to work out where I needed to get to), I've been trying to think about the decluttering. The context of my thoughts relate to some videos I watched with some minimalists showing what they bought their kids for xmas, our own present transformation where we only buy for xmas/birthdays and are careful not to overbuy (although we do get books in-between or possibly the odd thing when the kids are really into something or if they need something) and the leftover of too much stuff to hand down from my parents loft, my parents overbuying and a bit of our overbuying in the past. So, in the loft we have a big box of puzzles and I pulled one out for DD yesterday that I thought she'd like. The thing is, the puzzles in there are ones bought specifically for me/my sister in our childhood or for DS. DD is a different person entirely with her own likes/dislikes and weird little obsessions. Yes it is money saving to store all this stuff and give her these puzzles (except for the fact there are too many), but the reality is that if I were to buy her just one puzzle she would love, it is very unlikely to be any of those that I have. One puzzle I was holding for DD is actually one of those where you get 8 puzzles in one box. She would like the pictures on that, but the reality is that they are really annoying as you have to be really careful to keep all the pieces separate from each other within the box and she doesn't really need 8 puzzles. I am now thinking I should donate that one and carefully purchase a puzzle for xmas that she would really love. If you get too many puzzles and they aren't the ones chosen for them, I find that they don't use them anyway. So, yes, keep some things aside (although I am getting to the end of that given they have such different interests and DS destroys all his clothes anyway), but be very selective about what you keep. Looks like I'll be back into the loft later to pull out more things...A few bits of decluttering from last night:Digital:

Mrs SD - good to hear that Mr SD is okay.
We went to cafe Church - we had a lot of people there - most we have had. C did lots of food as usual - I put leftovers in the SA fridge so he can use them for rough sleepers breakfasts/pack ups.
I had an issue with Mr F last night - he never loses his temper or shouts - he really went off on one!
I have a couple of packages arriving today - using my free week's Prim.
I am going to take photos of my craft room - it is a disaster! Decluttering in there is today's aim.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

I use Storewards, Shoppix and also Amazon Shopper Panel. I received an invitation for the Amazon one, but it’s really good- £5 Amazon voucher every month you upload 10 receipts, you get sent occasional 50p or £1 surveys that take a couple of minutes at most. Also if you allow access to the adverts you see there is another £2 a month, but this is optional. You get paid monthly in Amazon vouchers for this, but as I have a book habit it’s very handy 😁Declutter 2025 in 2025 0/202513 -
Can I post too? I do a lot of maintaining declutter around our place and would love to share.13
