@vulpix Lindisfarne is on my wish list. I head up to Newcastle semi-regularly and did see the Lindisfarne Gospel exhibition when it was at the Laing Gallery. I could have seen it in London far more easily but sometimes you just need to see things where they were made (or nearly). That trip was quite short notice. Told my friend who lives up there on the Friday that’s be there on the Monday! He was remarkably accommodating.
I’m currently working out my Grand Tour of Northumberland itinerary.4 bags of stuff leaving the house today (1 is bubble wrap and packing as the CS appreciates those donations too). Things have been very up in the air the last couple of weeks as No1 DBro was sent off to hospital for extraordinary high blood pressure (which was picked up by chance). He’s since been diagnosed with advanced kidney disease (the impact of last year’s problems) and is now on dialysis 3 times a week.I’m now trying to work out how not to cook with tomatoes as he can’t have them and we do like a tomato based sauce. The rest of the diet I can work with but this is a challenge.✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

Hi all,
@mhagster that is very disappointing news. Are you able to wait for your buyers to get a new buyer? It must be a big worry for everyone in the chain, the people where you are moving to must also be upset
@Deni_debt-free_dreamer sorry for your loss, hugs
@Muddy_Walker carry on with the me time for a good while
@London_1 poached eggs in a bowl of water in the microwave - ingenious - I will have to give that a try
@Vulpix even during term time I think Lindesfarne is busy. Was the castle open? When we went it was closed for renovations. The causeway is surprisingly long and I thought about the people who live on the island and travel to the mainland for work, or go to school on the mainland. Imagine having your whole day organised around the tides, I couldn't really get my head around it but apparently employers and schools understand and make adjustments for them. Did you get to the little walled garden? I loved that. Sods law the jet brooch will appear when you get home. Hope you enjoy Whitby, another place I have fond memories of
@Mrs SD the exhaustion was just a hangover from the B12 thing, it takes a few days to kick in but I am on the way up now, just in time for our trip
@TC77 I never wear skirts either
@florianatwobob no tomatoes omg I don't even know where to start. I throw them in everything. Let us know how you get on
@2Scratters how exciting, new adventures ahead and as @Floss said, more info required
Well quite a good day yesterday, sun was out and a good breeze so 3 LDFPA, car tax was sorted for my car and OH's. A union thing came up again but was sorted with a text and an email. A load of ironing done and packing mostly sorted. We went shopping for bits to take with us and they were organised.
Today I have to finish packing, empty the bins, order my meds so they will be waiting in the chemist when we get back, load the car and then we are off. No wifi where we are staying but I will try to use my phone to keep up with everyone
Better get weaving. Hugs to everyone who would like one

Take care everyone

@2Scratters I hope this is good news and gives you relief. I myself have written my resignation letter, but am pausing before handing it in. I've gone fully rogue at work now, and everything is to be done the proper way with no exceptions. I'm finding the stress and anger quite useful in just seeing stuff in the house as just "stuff" that's in my way, so the decluttering is continuing in earnest today. I am entirely randomly doing a tiny bit in one room and a tiny bit in another, but as long as progress is being made then that is fine. The rest of the physical photos I am pending on at the moment, but I do think about them everyday.I'll definitely be back on later with more decluttering. Everything that went on Buy Nothing has been picked up and all full bags have gone to the charity already, so time to get some more onto both.Digital:
12 - apps deleted from phone/computer
2 - text conversations deleted
Physical:
4 - old glasses & cases (recycled)
6 - craft stuff (Buy Nothing)

I've got 34 paydays to retirement, I drop to 4.5 days next week and am planning to drop to 4 days later this year as I have been struggling recently & am currently signed off until late June. I have yet to raise that last drop in hours with my boss though!2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks + a weekly Mini Mission in May
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 9:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Friday already - what happened to the week 😧 Very grey & dark outside - forecast is for more rain 😔 Woke up 10:45 for a bathroom visit & decided to get up 🤞 DSis was already up & is currently sorting out her tablets for the week. I have my first cuppa & am ready to resume cheerleading - wish me luck 🍀
London_1, Sounds like you have enjoyed having your grandsons around for a couple of days 😊 even though it has gone by in the blink of an eye 😔 Thank you for sharing them - I love hearing about your family 😊 Hopefully the slight delay in finalising the paperwork means that by the time you get to the IoW the weather will have perked up especially on the IoW 🤞
wishus 😬 but it does all count - accidental or not 👏
vulpix, very pleased to hear that you & MrV had such a good journey to Scotland 😊 Hopefully the nice weather will continue for your entire stay 🤞 I do remember years ago that we had half day closing on Wednesdays but I thought that had stopped some years ago 😉 Although I suppose the debated centre of Britain would be the ideal place to continue the practice 😅 Thanks for the suggestions - I rather like the idea of a SHARF 😅 although mini shawl will do 😉 Thank you for the lovely compliment ☺️
Moorviews, some great & eclectic decluttering 👏 Patrick Grant’s book “Less” sounds like a great read 😊 (I have now watched the first 2 episodes of Sewing Bee & I already have a favourite 😉) Lovely cheerleading 😊
Lovely post Floss 😊
Liverpool_Anne, hope you managed to get your washing dry outside yesterday🤞 Another lovely cheerleading post 😊
Wednesday2000, shame about the cancellation - hopefully Heart will reschedule once Ann has recovered 🙏 Now that you have moved some furniture around I do hope that you enjoy the new layout for a little while before putting the house on the market 😉
Great decluttering Brie 👏 I really must tackle my wardrobe as it is in a right old mess 😔 Where’s Dilly when you need her 😅
Thanks Florenceem 😊 Sorry to hear that you had another tiring day at the hospital 😔 Fingers crossed that MrF’s test results are negative for any further issues 🤞🙏
mhagster, sorry to hear that your sale has fallen through at such a late stage 😔 Absolutely everything crossed that someone comes along who wants to buy quickly so that there is not too much delay in moving to your new home 🤞🙏 I remember when I bought my first house after getting divorced - I managed to view, put in an offer (admittedly £500 under the asking price) exchanged & completed all within 2 weeks even with the slight glitch at the solicitors where they wanted me to sign a contract at the original price 🤨 Not a chance - I went back later the same day & signed the new contract 😉 I totally agree with Moorviews & will join in with the sentiment “..going to enjoy a spot of minimalism though” 👏
Floss, curious to know how much of the ‘stuff’ in storage made it into your new home when you eventually moved 🤔
Some great decluttering TC77 👏 I think I would be inclined to keep the record player & bring it back into use 😊 I know, I know I am supposed to be encouraging you to declutter 😅
Deni_debt-free_dreamer, so sorry to hear about your DD’s grandfather 😔 Although a comfort that everyone got to say their goodbyes. Cwtches to you & your daughters 🤗
Muddy_Walker, sounds very therapeutic 😊
Floss, loving the reminiscences attached to moving house 😊 Sounds like you are a true minimalist 😉
London_1, well done on being so inventive 👏 Fingers crossed that the ‘slow’ solicitor gets a quick kick up the jacksie & you & DD can be on the move very soon 🤞
Excellent work Happy_Kitties 👏 Are you sure you counted correctly 😉😉
Lovely post vulpix 😊 Sounds like you are having a lovely time despite the weather 😊
TC77, nope - not a lot of cleaning here - I get too caught up in crafting 🤣 Excellent decluttering 👏 Please don’t forget to update your numbers - you started with 837 & now have a couple of posts on P371, mentioning items that have been decluttered 😉 The podcasts you are listening to seem to be a great motivational tool 😊 Good luck with your weekend target 🍀
florianatwobob, good luck with “I’m currently working out my Grand Tour of Northumberland itinerary.” Sounds like fun 🤩 So very sorry to hear about No1 DBro 😔 Cwtches to you both 🤗 Excellent decluttering 👏 & good luck working around the food restrictions 🍀
2Scratters, congratulations 🥂? As Floss has requested, more info please 🙏
Liverpool_Anne, lovely supportive cheerleading as always 😊 Relieved to hear that the B12 jab is starting to kick in just in time for your holiday 😮💨 A busy day yesterday 👏 Have a safe journey & a lovely trip 😊 Looking forward to hearing all about it when you get back 😊
Excellent decluttering QueenJess 👏 Your frustrations at work are definitely working to your advantage when it comes to decluttering 🥳 Having reached 5 figures you are motoring along towards your next target 🤩 I have just noticed the numbers on your May mini kitchen declutter challenge so am awarding you a medal🏅
Floss, good luck with the approach to your boss about reducing your hours🍀
QueenJess, fingers crossed for a favourable outcome/solution to the issues at work 🤞
All caught up 🥳 I have written a fairly smallish shopping list for DH & he will be heading off to sm in a little while.
The weather is getting worse - 13:35 & it is dark, breezy & damp 😔 so I feel justified in doing a bit more work on my embroidery project 😂 although I will have to turn the light on 😉

Wet start to the day here.
I popped to SA where someone told me that her sister had fluid round her lung and was diagnosed with cancer - I didn't tell Mr F.
I have been so good - sorted out some stuff for the charity shop from my stuff as opposed to that which I brought home from SA.
Epiphany moment here - I looked at some fabric sacks that I made to store yarn - yep - I have sent a lot of yarn to the charity shop - Mr F is out in town now delivering it. I have sorted one sack and started on a second. A third sack has made it down from the top of a unit - the plan is to consolidate 3 sacks into 1.
I have always struggled to declutter craft stash before.
However I have bought 4 craft items but that is 4 in to 144 out.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

I just saw that Jay again in my garden.🥰
It was raining and felt chilly, but I took a walk to the shop and it is fairly warm and mild outside.
I decluttered some paperwork yesterday. I have another bag for the charity shop as two dresses don't fit me anymore.
I did actually buy a couple of rugs just for when we show the house. We have seen a couple of houses we do like online, but we aren't putting the house on the market until we know finally about my husband's pension.2025 GOALS
