Hi Folks, 12 hours sleep and I am groggy and slow to come round. The weather in Scotland is just perfect. We will have a rush of activity shortly and head off to Lindesfarne.
I so enjoyed the trip up here yesterday. We had lunch at Tebay services where the dining room is next to a lake with tiny fresh out the box ducklings. We then went on to Carlisle, we haven't been for years. Highly recommend the cafe at the cathedral. Mr V bought me some fetching Malachite earrings. On to Haltwhistle, the debated centre of Britain. Being Wednesday it was closed. We then drove parallel to Hadrians wall for miles. Stunning scenery and big skies, skirted Kielder forest , all the time singing along to old Northern Soul music. A blast from our youth.
Pleased to hear that medical issues are being treated, and I hope soon sorted.
LiverpoolAnne, I thought you were missing because you were away. I think you will have lovely weather this weekend. Do tell us where you get to on your travels.
London 1, lets hope you will get some house news this week. Fingers crossed.
Mrs SD. I think I would call that a mini shawl,or a sharf, half shawl half scarf. and lovely work it is too. I was reading an article in a magazine in our accommodation about Shetland lace which is knitting. It reminds me of your lovely work.
Weenancy, I enjoy hearing about what you get up to too. I miss you when you don't post for a while.
I need to get a wriggle on , we need to catch the tide as Lindesfarne has a causeway.
Vx

I have my fingers crossed for your exchange and completion @London_1. I am getting very keen to read of your arrival in the new house and the IOW now😊
Enjoy your holidays @Liverpool_Anne and @vulpix. We like to stop at Tebay when visiting Scotland. Hope you catch the tides right!
@TC77 - sounds like good progress to me 👏
Mrs SD - that’s very cute and makes a nice collar for a cold day.I have had a mini clear out of the fridge and a use up of fruit. Cleaned bird droppings from the window. Sorted some of the greenhouse and done some weeding. I also threw out a disintegrating anorak and I have spotted another suitable for donation, which I shall wash. Gradually whittling down my coats and jackets to just what I like and will use. Patrick Grant, of Sewing Bee, has written a book called Less. I was having a read of the excerpt on an online bookseller site earlier. I could relate very strongly to what he was saying, although I do think that having a family does bring loads of clutter, which is fairly unavoidable no matter how much we try.16 -
Florenceem- that all sounds very stressful. I hope Mr F will feel better after the fluid being drained.15

@vulpix have a glug of mead for me, and a stroll on Bamburgh beach! I have very happy memories of my childhood holidays in the North East & of introducing my boys to the area too.

Hi all, caught up with the posts this morning while having a cuppa
.
@dND, it certainly is invasive, OH and I decamped to OH's house for 5 days and left the electricians to it but I did pack just about the whole house into boxes or the bin before we wentGlad you have the garden as a sanctuary, pity the weather has been so pants though. Are you sitting in the greenhouse when it rains
@Vulpix lovely photo of fluffy guarding bit_by_bit's treesome very interesting bits of stone there
. Sorry to hear Mr V is feeling unwell, hoping saint Rachel sorts something quickly, hugs. Tebay is my fav service station, I have spent a couple of overnights there when returning home from Scotland. Once in a borrowed camper van when they still had a camper van site at the back, it was the weekend of the Appleby horse fair and there were several travellers staying there, very friendly. Once we stayed in the hotel bit and it was a lovely end to both trips
. The other services I like owned by the same family is Gloucester, very nice food and conveniently located when I am going to visit my sister or other points south. Lindesfarne is also lovely. Another trip in the borrowed camper van, we stayed at the campsite at the barn at Beale and had wonderful views right across to the island. Look out for the refuge places on the causway, places you can climb up onto if you get caught by the tide if you are walking across
. I remember the area was full of sparrows, they even came and ate out of your hand when we had a snack in the cafe on the island
@QueenJess 5 figures- amazing
@Siebrie, big hugs, hoping for the best outcome for you and your daughters. You really do deserve much better.
@mrs-moneypenny, sorry to hear about your cat, I lost my lovely cat many years ago and still miss her. OH is allergic unfortunately so I have been unable to have another. Hugs
@Muddy_Walker be kind to yourself, you are amazing, big hugs. I agree about aloe Vera, I have successfully killed several
@Mrs_Cheshire welcome aboard the train, everyone is lovely on here, looking forward to hearing about your journey
@GrannyKate hope you have a lovely trip
@Florenceem glad to hear Mr F is getting some investigations, hopefully they will find the problem and be able to treat it quickly, hugs
@London_1, everything crossed here for your move going quickly and smoothly
Right it has stopped raining and I have a load of washing to hang out so I better get weaving.
Hugs to everyone who would like one

Take care everyone

I just heard today that the band Heart have had to cancel their European tour and we were supposed to be seeing them in July in London. I'm not too bothered as there are four weeks in June/July that were going to be manic for us so at least that is one thing less to think about.
We moved around some furniture yesterday thinking about when we put the house on the market. We have a "dining" room that we barely use but we moved a sofa in there and used the TV unit as a coffee table. The TV it used to hold broke a few weeks ago. The room now actually looks a lot better than it ever has done since we moved in!
I am going to call up a charity to hopefully take some furniture we don't need.
It looks a very dull and grey day today.

bagged up a tshirt I don't like, some socks that strangle and some tights that I hate. They're in a cloth shopping bag that was about to be binned for having been in the sun for too long and faded on one side. All together now in the box to be taken to the charity shop.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Mrs SD - lovely knitting.
Moorviews - Mr F has no symptoms so didn't know about the fluid.
Spending time at the hospital is tiring. We had to walk further to the bus stop this morning as a road was closed. Then there are lots of traffic lights, diversions and roads closed so the journey to the hospital took longer than usual.
Mr F had more blood taken after being seen by two Doctors. He was scanned and prepped to have the fluid drained. Although the fluid showed up on the scan - they struggled to drain it. In the end they did a tap and got 4 small pots of fluid to send off for investigation.
We were at the hospital for quite a few hours again.
On the way home - Mr F said he felt okay so I could get some summer trousers.
We called at SA on the way from the bus and secured the building.

Hello!
a horrible thing happened on Tuesday. I got a call to say my sale had fallen through. Buyers buyer had pulled out.Should have been moving next Friday. I was 90% packed up.So whilst my world imploded on Tuesday by Wednesday I was like well it is what it is! I’ve had to go up for sale again and start all over again!Decided to put the 40+ boxes already packed in to storage for as long as it takes to resell and move ( potentially 8-10 weeks if I sell quickly)
Guys came today and I honestly feel so much mentally lighter that it’s gone. I’m living with basic cooking equipment but I have a cooker/ fridge/freezer/washing machine so I can manage. Done it twice before when I’ve emigrated.
The three guys that came were so nice and helpful which made a difference and in true money saving fashion they had a ‘sale’ on for the month of May if you booked in May so I have half price storage for the duration.
My rolled up rugs were unfurled and the dog is happy ( he doesn’t love the wooden floor and he had the fear of all the boxes!) it just feels a bit like home again. Home with empty cupboards 😆
I’m an optimist by nature. So I just feel there’s no point being angry / upset ( I was devastated on Tuesday) as there is absolutely nothing I can do!So today I’ve decluttered 40 boxes and some tension off my shoulders!Onwards…16
