Our TV broke yesterday so we will have to get the council here to remove it as we don't drive. I see this as an opportunity to get rid of some other bits at the same time. I think I will get rid of some furniture.🤔
We are starting to watch the Netflix show The Asunta Case. I read very good reviews of it lately.12 -
Sorry to read your news vulpix it’s hard when you lose a friend. For today : I started early before it got too hot.
Brought forward in the garage the things that friend is picking up. Wow!Daughter collected 2 big plants in big pots , a tool box and randomly took a pallet I had on side fence years ago…and sent a photo of it looking nice with the wee hanging pots she took yesterday. She’ll be back for more things tomorrow!
Chap collected a mix of hiking stuff that was my husband/sons. My sister was aghast I wasn’t selling it but I just need it to be gone. None of it is brand new but certainly has more life in it so I’m happy it goes to someone who can make use of it. My husband loved climbing/hiking/winter stuff and loved cooking in his wee stove so hopefully some of that love will be experienced by someone else.
Also decluttered the rhubarb that just refused ti grow in the great big pot it was in! So it’s now gone and DD2 will take the pot tomorrow for her garden. The house she recently bought has a garden with just slabs. So she’s been filling it with pots and plants from here to give it a bit of life. She’s painted the fence and the shed and it all looks so much better. A work in progress.MrsSD thank you for my star ⭐️ it’s very much appreciated!15 -
My thoughts exactly about bit by bits family. Liverpool Anne. I expected that I would be kept up to date. I haven’t spoken to anyone. This is what I gather from her daughter’s face book. It isn’t about me, everyone grieves in their own way.I have been in the garden all afternoon. Mr V in one of the sheds, starting to sort out the things he brought back from his daughter’s garage. Quite a few things in the car for the tip tomorrow. I have donated a metal bowl I thought would look arty in the garden with water in it. No it doesn’t look the part. Byeee.Several plants which just don’t like the conditions here have either been moved or binned. The roses on the rose arch are on a final warning. We are off to a plant fair at a stately home in Cheshire tomorrow. I intend to spend, spend, spend. To heck with it. Plants give me pleasure. I don’t drink or smoke or buy expensive stuff. I can run to a few new plants. The rose is stunning Liverpool Anne.Vx:17

vulpix - Loved your words - I don’t drink or smoke or buy expensive stuff. I can run to a few new plants. I feel like that about my craft buys.
Went to SA at 1.30 and got home at 9.15. Only 3 of us to get the tables ready and organise the food this afternoon.
C said - 7 tables of 6 - but we planned for 60 to eat - we were not far out - better to have enough food for seconds than not having enough to feed people. C gave me a very detailed plan of action - in the end I put the oven on earlier than he said and the food in when I thought - the oven was full with 48 pieces of fish and 36 sausages.
With the fish/sausages and chips we did coleslaw, mushy peas, salad leaves, tomato & cucumber salad. Afters was either black forest or strawberry gateau.
C said it was a trial run for tomorrow when we are feeding 120 at lunch time.
The band concert was very good.
Very tired now.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Ive managed to declutter 3 bags of stuff to the charity shop.
I tried on some t-shirts and found that 1 I didn't like the length of, but had slimmed into and I had slimmed into a further 4 extra large t-shirts.
So a bag full of about 10 t-shirts and 1 pair of jeans went too.
I will start another charity shop bag with stuff I find.
Edit to add, I couldn't resist the garden centre and came home with a small bag of seed compost, a small bag of multi purpose compost, a small rosemary shrub, pearlite and 2 packs of seeds.
I had a half price plant voucher as well as £2.50 off.
I'm glad I took the shopping trolley with me.
I also decluttered the worst of the weeding from the 2 plant beds and attempted rather short burst of raking the lawn and weeding the lawn.
I really need to try and try and hold off buying more seeds and plants until I've got the flower beds sorted.Decluttering campaign 2023

Yes, GrannyKate she did like that idea. I told her when I saw her I would plant a tree for her. She was involved in a community environment group for many years. Getting on with making the top garden is what needs to be done now, that is the best place for a tree. I need some muscle though. I am hinting very strongly for my son and step son to visit.
Mr V saw a "giant car boot sale" on his way home from work yesterday. Thank goodness he didn't go, we have nowhere to keep a giant.
Haha, Florenceem, strangely I also have the same attitude to craft items too.x
Just put the washing out, off over that hill to Cheshire.

Hi all, just a sorting out sort of day yesterday although the birthday present, card and wrapping and gift bag left the house
. The family birthday party was lovely, not huge numbers so I was able to chat and catch up with everyone
. I have been awake since about 4.30 as the over the road neighbour had pressed his emergency button and they phoned to ask us to check on him. I had to wake another neighbour to get a key as I didn't have the code for the key box and found him on the floor wedged between the bed and the dressing table. I asked him if he was ok and if I needed to call an ambulance, he said yes. I couldn't get a signal in the house so I had to leave him to make the call but OH had come over by then and went up to him. We managed to help him to sit up, got a couple of pillows behind him and the quilt over him and he had a drink of water but we didn't want to move him too much because we didn't know if he had broken anything but also there was no room to get behind him or alongside him to lift him. I also phoned his brother as he is coming to visit today from Derby just to let him know what was happening. About 2 hours later a woman from the "falls team" arrived and declared he didn't need an ambulance and used a contraption to get him up and onto the bed. The ambulance arrived just as she had finished so she sent them away. I then had a conversation with the "falls team" lady about him needing some sort of medical assessment to determine why he keeps falling, this is the second time this week but got absolutely nowhere. She is making a referral for an assessment from social services and waffled about him needing a bed downstairs. I said it doesn't matter where the bed is, the bed doesn't make him fall. That's all I can do she said. I phoned his brother again and managed to catch him before he left to get the train and updated him. I said to OH that it feels like they are playing pass the parcel with him and nobody wants to take responsibility for sorting things out for him. Anyhows I am having a cuppa and heading back to bed for a couple of hours sleep before his brother arrives and we can have a chat about it all.
Sorry for the rant. I have got to say OH was brilliant and sat and listened to his war stories while I paced outside waiting for the ambulance
.
Hopefully I will be back later having done some decluttering
719 present, card and wrapping etc
Take care everyone

@2Scratters thank you very good idea for the like with like, although for stationery I have checked all pens but we do get through aloy, taking some to dd2 when I visit her at uni and taking some to our bank of things for school kids.
Out yesterday and today and still not bringing stuff in..some items sold and / or ready to pass on so hopefully will do when back from apparently free open day at Hampton Court.
Oh I did buy geraniums to brighten up my pots and garden , and like others see as a joy giving activity!13
