vulpix fingers crossed 3 weeks but I’m taking a wee break away in that time so need to get a wriggle on!Hello! Was at the recycling centre first thing…was second in the queue. A load of small electrical stuff ( mainly cables and small bits of the husband and son variety) and a very nice chap lifted my big tub up and over the skip for me as I would have had to have done it a bit at a time!A few empty boxes from the last move. And some random bits of wood that were in the garage. Then went to charity shop with two bags! Ooft! One was very heavy and I’d to keep stopping and change hands to carry them! Had parked in supermarket car park which is at the top of a hill so at least I was carrying them downhill!I’m just thinking back to the massive declutter I did 7 years when I made the move back from Australia to here. House was a lot larger and I got rid of so much stuff then ( and as I recall loads of blooming cables etc) and I know I’m probably taking too much with me to new house which is a totally different style to this ( very old opposed to modern) but I’ll see what suits the house and clear the rest.Packed my husband this morning! What’s left of his ashes that I kept. And all the memorial things so they are all together. He’ll probably come in the car with me! He’s in the box that had all the electrical wires and stuff so he’d probably quite like that! Would have made him laugh!17

I've brought in 1 hoodie, 1 pair of shorts and 1 pair of joggers.
All in an XL at £1 per item.
I took 2 carrier bags to the charity too.
I got into the habit of buying smaller sizes for when I slimmed into them from the £1 charity shops.
It seemed to be getting silly, so I have got rid of as much of it I could, but have given myself permission to buy what I need as I need it as slim down.
I'm in-between sizes in women's clothes and am finding it frustrating as the cheaper jeans are skinny high waisted. Which isn't a good fit for me being on the short side with calves on the chunky side

Weather still lovely here today. I was very good at car boot and only acquired some homemade cheese scones and some sultana ones - DS2 paid. He bought two individual pots for shepherds pie etc. Booked another viewing and have also been messaged by family who are selling mother's house but not on market yet. Almost same as one I like but this one is in much better condition.

DH has trimmed the back hedge. I have spent the last 2 hours working on my embroidery project. The design is very fluid 😉 but I think it is coming together nicely 🤞
QueenJess, I was very pleased to hear that you have been spending time in the TLC Carriage 😊 Although I do hope you took some time to wander along to the glass domed carriage as we are back in Canada & the scenery is stunning 🤩 Sorry to hear that work is so full on at the moment 😔 Excellent digital decluttering 👏 Sounds like your DD is an avant garde photographer 😁 Good luck with your May/June mini challenge of decluttering clothes 🍀 Your comment “Just did the recording of stuff for the week on the TV (gosh there is nothing on at the moment!). I do need to watch what is on there (at 70% free on the box), but I also realised that if it all broke tomorrow and I lost everything on there, I actually wouldn't care. So in that case, why don't I delete it all? Something to ponder on, although it isn't all my stuff of course so I can't delete it all” describes almost exactly the state of affairs of my planner 😉
Florenceem, you must be exhausted after all that work yesterday 🥱 I hope today is/has been a quieter day & that you have been able to do some crafting 😊
Lovely to see you dND 👋 Sounds like you have been really busy in the garden & how great that your son has been such a help 😊 I am awarding you a Gold Star ⭐️ Brilliant news that your preferred builder is back, has given acceptable quotes & will start work this week 🤞I imagine that even with all the chaos that will ensue you are getting very excited 😊 Well done on keeping so busy whilst waiting for building work to start 👏 How are the cats settling in - have they learnt any Welsh yet 😉 or have they persuaded the local cats to learn French 😅 Don’t forget to take photos of work in progress 😉 so that when all the work is done, you can sit back with a tipple of choice & marvel at how well you you survived 😊 Also don’t forget the TLC Carriage & your fellow declutterati are here to keep your spirits up 🥳 Bonne chance or should that be pob lwc🍀
Just a short visit as I need to sort dinner 😉

Wednesday2000 said:I've been fighting off a migraine today and the new meds the GP gave me didn't seen to work. It says not to bother taking a second dose if the first tablet didn't work. I have booked reflexology for next week, but I wish it was this week instead. I could text her to see if she has had any cancellations.
I just texted her (she didn't answer me) and then went to check if I had the cash for reflexology in my purse and then went out to the shop and she was standing next to me in the queue.🤣 Booked appointment with her for tomorrow morning.🥰 She had a last minute cancellation.2025 GOALS

Monday stayed dry all day. Dinner was chicken pieces fried in butter, baby potatoes & salad. Wudupa I spent some more time practicing embroidery stitches whilst I let my dinner settle before having a long bath. I am now watching a bit of TV whilst my hair dries.

Liverpool_Anne, sorry you didn’t manage to get much sleep after the issues with the over the road neighbour 😔 I hope he is OK & that he enjoyed the visit from his brother & SiL. Hopefully getting a hospital bed will prevent the falling out of bed but not really a lot of help for falls during the day 😔 I am also keeping my fingers crossed that he will not sack his new carers 🤞Hope the union thing went well 🙂
London_1, shame that the people buying your DD’s house are not gardeners but what a lovely idea to donate tools & plants to a local school 😊 I am pleased to hear that your eldest DD appears to be coming around to your almost ‘fait accompli’ move to the IoW 😊 You have done a brilliant job decluttering the kitchen 👏 So sorry to hear that your sister-in-law is so poorly. Must be quite sad saying your goodbyes to people & places but you are embarking on an exciting new adventure 😊 Hopefully you will get to see DGS Mikey before you leave 🤞
charlies_tribe, sorry to hear that you are still poorly 😔 but relieved that you are resting & trying to recuperate 😊 Please spend plenty of time in the TLC Carriage & don’t try to do too much until you are fully recovered 🙏
wishus, you must be rather pleased that you delayed your decision about the food processor 😉
Excellent decluttering Pennypincin & some great gardening work 👏
vulpix, a rowan tree sounds lovely ☺️ How wonderful that you are keeping in touch with the Ukrainian lady ☺️ Nine months of hard graft clearing your Mum’s house & the end is finally in sight 🥳 I hope that when the last stick of furniture has gone & the estate agent has taken the photos you will have at least a small celebration 🎉 Great news that your Mum’s disability parking badge can be used as I.D. 😮💨
My hair is finally dry so I am off to bed. Only 11 posts behind now 😉 Hope everyone has a good night’s sleep 💤

I had a lazy afternoon and evening yesterday.
Only thing I decluttered was a piece of tooth! I think it is the same place where I had a filling in February so may be filling material - anyway - I have a hole.
Wet here this morning.
I am meant to be counting this morning if C doesn't cancel.

Well although I'm still busy at work (and it's really annoying me now...), I have been binge watching minimalism/decluttering videos before I sleep and had a sudden realisation that the Kindle I have in my bedside drawer I haven't used for years. It's a good idea, but I just prefer holding a real book in my hands and I just don't use it. Having looked at the prices for the one I have, I've decided it isn't worth the effort of selling it right now, so I am giving it away to my Buy Nothing group.Whilst I was there, I had a look at what else was in my top drawer and got rid of my engagement ring box. I never use it and it isn't particularly fancy. Whilst I was deliberating with myself of whether i should be keeping it or not, I realised it is falling apart and so I binned it. Decision made. I am currently deliberating with myself with a mirror that I never use, but remember making with my grandparents. I don't love it, but it does bring back a strong memory. For now that one is pending and I will relocate it to my memory box instead. So what is left in the top drawer of the bedside table?
- 1 torch (in case of power cuts... it's been so handy in the past and the kids love using torches when we walk out to see the xmas lights)
- 1 hand moisturiser (I get very dry hands)
- 1 foot moisturiser (I won't replace this one and will find one that I can use for hands and feet, but is going to take me a year to use up!)
- 1 Glasses case with cloth and glasses cleaner in it
- 1 Glasses repair kit (it's unbelievable how often I have to screw glasses back together and the little screwdrivers are great for kids toys too!)
That's it! Gosh - as I was typing this out, I've already had 8 people request the Kindle!I also decluttered a bunch of photos from my phone that were duplicates or didn't "spark joy".Digital:
84 - photos deleted
1 - text message conversations deleted
1 - app deleted from my phone
Physical:
1 - Jogging bottoms I don’t like wearing (charity box)
1 - t-shirt I never wear because it doesn’t fit right (charity box)
1 - musical sleep aid (Buy Nothing)
4 - paper, reused then recycled
1 - ring box that is falling apart (binned)
4 - kindle with cover, accessories, plug, cableNew total = 7,824May mini kitchen declutter challenge = 18/25May/June mini clothes declutter challenge = 3/752025 decluttering: 3,452🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

It’s not even 8.30am and my day is made 😆
Friend has just been and her car is filled with all the electronics stuff from the garage and all the spare tools! This is a massive relief to me that it’s going where it can be used and will be appreciated!
And whilst I was waiting I may have decluttered some out of date spices! So glass/plastic recycled.Onwards…16 -
I spent yesterday doing jobs. 2 loads of washing line dried , prepped dinner before I went outside. outside loo door and frame painted, one side of the fence painted. New plants potted up.The painting is something de cluttered off my this years to do list. Plenty more painting to do when we get some dry days.
My son and family will be visiting soon. There is already a pile on the spare room bed for him. A shoe last from Mum's. a scarf I have knitted, a tote hag I have made, a huge oven dish, a little bike I was given for my Grandson. I am sure there will be more. Pleased to rehome the oven dish. I feel quite sentimental about it. It was in constant use when all the kids lived at home, good times.
Off to craft club this afternoon. I will cut out some more bags and sew them tonight whilst Mr V is at work. Slowly chipping away at the craft stash.
Mrs SD, we are having a couple of days away at the end of the month in Scotland. Looking forward to it very much. I have found out that the exact centre of Britain is a place called Halfwhistle. We shall call whilst we are on the way up North. We have been to the N,S,W,E extremities, all my idea of course. It satisfies my inner nerd.
Happy de cluttering Vx
