A wet & cooler start to Tuesday. It appears to have been raining for a while & is still raining at 09:10. Yes, you are reading the time correctly 😉 I woke up to use the bathroom but as DSis was in the bath, I had to put on a dressing gown & go downstairs 😉I have made my first cuppa in an attempt to wake up as DH & I are going out to lunch with friends to celebrate their 30th Wedding Anniversary 😊 You serve less time for murder 🤣 We haven’t seen them for a while so it will be a chance to catch up.
Siebrie, I imagine you felt like throttling your husband 😉 so well done to you for resisting the initial temptation 👏 Excellent job doing the gardening before tackling the contents of the RoD 👏 just wondering if your husband now has cement shoes for retrieving everything you put out 🤣 or maybe just put him outside with a sign around his neck saying “Free - please take” 🤣 A double reason it took so long - it was handmade & it was a gift 😉
Brie, I think your OH might be joining MrS outside with the same sign around his neck 🤣 Good luck with your solitary sorting of the dining room 🍀
Excellent work decluttering photo frames London_1 👏 Your goodbyes must almost be done & it sounds like almost the last of your decluttering & packing is also done & dusted 🤩 Please, please take it a bit easier as I don’t want you injuring yourself before the Big Move to IoW 🙏
Wednesday2000, sorry to hear about yesterday’s migraine 😔 I hope you finally managed to fight it off 🙏 Excellent work on the decluttering 👏 Such beautiful pieces of costume jewellery 😻 I love a bit of bling but usually looking not wearing 😉
Lovely to see you ~FlowerPot~ 👋 Sending lots of cwtches 🤗 & good wishes to your DD for her exams 😊 Sounds like she has done all the work necessary to pass with flying colours 😊 & hopefully when all the exams are done she will be able to relax & catch up on her sleep 🙏
Lovely cheerleading Muddy_Walker 😊 Sorry to hear that you are not enjoying the heat 😔 Hopefully you are having some cooler weather today 🤞
Florenceem, you might have had a bit of a lie in but you have still put me to shame with the amount of work you did yesterday 🤩
I broke off from the cheerleading to make a 2nd cuppa. DH is now running a bath & has advised that we are leaving at noon which should give us plenty of time to meet up with our friends for 13:00 😊
mhagster, how exciting that your moving date is almost upon you 🤩 Excellent decluttering 👏 A good idea to take a wee break - hopefully you will be reinvigorated & can tackle the last of the decluttering & packing with renewed energy 😊
Excellent decluttering Pennypincin 👏 Way more out than in 😊 Good luck with the dieting 🍀 & hopefully you can find lots of new to you clothes to flatter your body shape 🤞
GrannyKate, well done on showing such restraint at the car boot 👏 & even better that DS2 paid 😅 Fingers crossed that the house that is yet to come on the market will tick all the boxes & is at a price within your budget 🤞Great decluttering 👏 & good luck with the greenhouse clearance 🍀
Wednesday2000, synchronicity & serendipity 😊 Hope you enjoy your reflexology session & that it also sees off the migraine 🙏
Florenceem, very pleased to hear that you had a relaxing afternoon & evening yesterday 😊 Although I do have visions of you crafting 😉
QueenJess, you really are an amazing declutterer - even when you are not actively decluttering you are binge watching minimalism/decluttering videos 🤩 More excellent decluttering both physical & digital 👏 Good luck deciding who gets the Kindle 🍀
mhagster, yippee to such a great start to your day 🥳 & well done on filling the time waiting for your friend by decluttering spice jars 👏
vulpix, a busy & very productive Monday 👏 Excellent decluttering 👏 & so pleased that the oven dish (with attendant happy memories) is being passed to your son 😊 Keeping my fingers crossed that you have bright & dry weather for your mini break in Scotland 🤞 DH has also visited the N,S,E,W extremities of mainland U.K. (the RBR is good for satisfying his inner & outer nerd 😂) Being the nerd he is DH has been within a couple of miles of Haltwhistle (stet) I admit to my inner nerd getting the better of me & I went down a rabbit hole re the ‘centre of’ …. but I discovered that Haltwhistle has signs up 😉 Although apparently ‘the centre of’ has so many claimants that I got a bit of a headache 😂
I have caught up for the time being 😮💨 I had an interesting chat with the postman as he was trying to get a response from the now empty house next door. We were discussing the ‘misnomer’ (aka oxymoron) of ‘affordable rents’ 😔 He is having to pin his hopes on a lottery win 😔 At least it has stopped raining for the time being 😉

Hi all, as I thought I was out of the house from 10 - 4 yesterday doing the union thing and I will spend a while today typing it up and emailing it off and I also have to chase the other thing up. A few bits sorted yesterday, bathroom bin, kitchen recycling and the moth traps were deployed as we have seen a couple fluttering around the lr. I have told OH we need to completely clear the lr floor so I can hoover the carpet properly rather than just the bit in the middle of the room
. Although I got agreement nothing has been done. I also still have to help ln sort her hanging baskets but it is dark and raining here right now but I have hopes for this afternoon if the forecasts are correct
@nannywindow I think the tidy garden you can see in the photo is my ln's. Mine is much more overgrown and messy
@Vulpix I think a Rowan is the perfect tree. It is one of my favourite trees, light and airy, a native tree that will thrive just about anywhere plus the added bonus of bright berries that feed the birds. I am sure bit_by_bit would love that. Re over the road furniture I agree not my circus. I hope your trip to scotland goes well, whereabouts are you going to?
@dND good luck with the rewiring. I think it's the worst job I have had done as it creates a mess in every room at the same time, I am still trying to recover from mine, but it is one of the best things to get done as it gives you peace of mind that the electrics are safe and there should always be enough sockets and lights
.
@London_1 you are doing so well and I am so excited for your impending moveI wish I had half your energy
.
@charlies_tribe hope you feel better soon, kids love to sharehugs.
@Mrs SD the rose cuttings just seem to take and I have so much of it. When I am cutting it back I just chop up a stem and dip it with a bit of rooting gel then put in a pot with 50/50 compost and perlite and just make sure it doesn't dry out which has been easy this year with all the rain. Apparently you can do this with any rose but I have only tried it with this one
@Muddy_Walker big hugs
@Siebrie honestly sometimes you just want to scream don't youhugs
Right better get on with something. Hugs to everyone who would like one
720 bathroom bin
721 kitchen recycling
722 moth traps deployed and packaging recycled
Take care everyone

Mrs SD, we are having a couple of days away at the end of the month in Scotland. Looking forward to it very much. I have found out that the exact centre of Britain is a place called Halfwhistle. We shall call whilst we are on the way up North. We have been to the N,S,W,E extremities, all my idea of course. It satisfies my inner nerd.
Happy de cluttering Vxticking off the centre sounds like a great idea to complete the set

The fine weather meant I could get on with washing the curtains and drying them on the line at the weekend. Three sets down and two still to do in the next dry spell. Bird droppings avoided so far - I have to be careful not to leave them on the line too long!Mr MV has been exploring and clearing some of the mouldier corners of the garage. He is a pile and stack into a corner person and now discovering that things just rot when ignored for years. He seemed surprised. One load has gone to the tip and another is on its way. Anyway, I was amazed that he undertook this task without any prompting. Having had another family bereavement we are very much talking about all the stuff that just gets left for families to deal with. We need to have a conversation with our children about what, if anything, they might want of ours. They will no doubt think that we are being morbid.Although I did a good clothes declutter last year, I am now considering what I still have in the way of clothing and analysing how many of different items that I need so that I am not tempted to overstock. Also, I am trying to make sure that I actually wear what I have. I am so good at clothes preservation that many of my clothes are decades old and still not worn out. They won’t all suit me now as I am ageing and shape shifting and my colouring has changed. It’s quite difficult to assess but I am having a go at being objective when trying things on and looking in the mirror. I have to consider too that some things look best with high heels, which I no longer wear. It feels like the nitty gritty of decluttering!
Nice to see you @dND and @~FlowerPot~. I hope that both the building works and the exams go okay in the end.12 -
@Vulpix - we used to often stop off at Haltwhistle with our caravan. Lovely area near Hadrian's Wall and I remember this caravan site where you would open the caravan door in the morning and rabbits would run in all directions - our dogs went mad chasing after them but never catching them.
563 Paid car insurance and had a result as I rang up to reduce annual mileage and premium actually went down £50

I swept and mopped the kitchen floor so decluttered some dirt before I went out.
C didn't cancel and we spent from 10.30 until 1 - counting. At 1 o'clock C left me in the office to take the hour's Bible study. I needed to reconcile money - none of my figures agreed with his printed off sheet. I recounted 3 times and my figures were right so we spent from 2 until 3 sorting things out.
All the concentrating has made me tired.
Mr F had been out to the charity shop with a trolley of stuff - I decluttered some books.
I cut out 2 aprons this morning - think I have enough fabric left for a bag.

Hello!
and the garage is done! Hu-blooming-rah! Just filled the last box in there and it just needs taped up but it’s absolutely lashing with rain and I’m getting wet going in an out so I’ll tape it up in the morning!Friend called to say the chaps getting the stuff today were absolutely delighted! So that’s good.
Almost all the kitchen stuff apart from bare essentials is packed. So it was salad for my tea! ( I still have hob/oven but a couple of weeks of salads won’t do me any harm 😆
Tonight I’m going to get suitcases out of cupboard and start putting the things I definitely won’t be wearing in to them.13 -
Hi Chums I am so pleased how the decluttering has been going and it's helped immensely with the forthcoming move .
Just awaiting one piece of paper from a very slow solicitor (not my one thank goodness ) then it will be a case of signing the contracts, and then the exchange, and we are still hoping for the completion date at end of this month.
A bit more decluttering done, and tomorrow I will be popping to the CS with a few more bits for them. I collected all the pens up in the house, and threw at least about 15 away as they were dried up and useless. Still have about 20 odd left so some of them will get donated to one of my teacher grandchildren.
My eldest DD used to be forever leaving me some over the years that she had accumulated, as she too used to work in a school, and also a building society at one point.
Some more paper work was shredded this afternoon. All my knitting stash and needles are packed and its odd not knitting as I normally used to while watching tv
But I have been treating myself by watching Alan Bennett's 'Talking Heads' on BBC IPlayer. I've seen them all before but I can watch anything with Alan Bennett's name on. He also did a great programme call 'The Abbey with Alan Bennett' and its him wandering around Westminster Abbey and telling stories about the Abbey and all its incumbents, both living and dead.
He is the one person on TV I can watch and listen to for hours. He is such a clever witty chap, and I highly recommend anyone to watch The Abbey its so much more than just a walk around, he tells tales of how it works and the people of the statues and graves, and the the amount of Kings buried surprised me, and there are 2000 odd graves in the Abbey. He's such gentle soul, and yet so informative, and a brilliant writer, mind I am a history nut anywayits what my degree was in.
Tomorrow apart from the CS I also said I would take my son-in-law Simon and their Westie to the groomers, as their dog is in desperate need of having his fur trimmed, at the moment he looks like a complete white ball of fur.
Right just about time for a cuppa,
Hope alls well with you all, been very damp today and drizzly, shame after the couple of nice days we had, looks like the wet weather is back again
Cheers chums
