I've decluttered a handful of little bits to people who wanted them at church yesterday, except for 1 small item.
I made a start on weeding the lawn yesterday too. I just need to keep it up.
I managed to empty 2 pots of compost onto one of the beds in the garden, plus sow several packets of seeds. I've now got a tiny bit more room on my balcony after the pots we're emptied.

Hello chums,
I just need to clarify, when I said getting over bit by bit , I meant how I found out she had passed ,not actually getting over it all. I was looking on line as to what tree to buy. I may go with a rowan.
Liverpool Anne, you are a neighbour worth their weight in gold. MIL had fallen out with all her neighbours so we didn't have anyone on the ground so to speak. I think the auction house would want photos of the furniture. Sadly nobody wants well made. quality brown furniture. Not your circus. You are already going above and beyond.
I recently visited a couple of sisters who are emptying their Aunt's house. She had a huge Victorian house, the Auction house refused everything, The Aunt had been a hoarder and at one point had 70 indoor cats. The place had no maintenance for many years and was grim. The garden was a jungle. They were struggling to give stuff away. These women were in their 70's and have been at it 6 months. If it were me I would have paid someone to clear it. They had found some things like jewellery, but that wouldn't have been enough reward for me. Honestly the place was like you see on hoarder programmes but with the benefit of cat wee smell. I went to collect a surprisingly new and unused quality pan set for the Ukranian lady.
Btw, the Ukranian lady and I message each other now. We are meeting for coffee on Thursday.
It took us 9 months to empty my Mum's. Mr V is there right now as a chap is coming to collect the burred maple wardrobes. The couple are into rockabilly so are thrilled with them. Sadly they have no room for the bed and dressing table. DD1 is thinking about having the headboard. That would mean us storing it ! We have to put the sofa and chair out for the council to collect next week. Then all that is left is the lovely oak cupboard. The people buying it will be back from their holiday in Portugal next week so very soon the place will be completely empty. The Estate Agent is coming to take photo's next Monday. Then we will be live. I have asked that the Estate Agent do the viewings. Apparently we can use Mum's disability parking badge instead of passport or driving license ID.
Forgot to say a fair few plastic plant pots passed on to my neighbour.
Mhagster when do you move?
London 1 your move is racing. You are so well organised. I am sure your eldest daughter will come round to see it is a positive move for you. You will have company if you want it and peace of mind that there is someone there if needed.
dND, just keep thinking,"this time next year". Hope the weather keeps dry for the builder.
Get well wishes people.xxx

We had the long weekend (Ascension Day is a national holiday, the Friday after most companies and schools are closed) and I planned on working in the garden. Husband had to work those days and the weekend; he wfh on Thu and Fri, and in the office on Sat and Sun. Without discussing with me, he emptied our office(/RoD) into our living room, hoovered the office, and said 'you just have to sort through that lot'.... .....It was all sorted until he started throwing things randomly into the RoD! Anyway, I started sorting (after I'd done most of the gardening I'd planned) and put some items in front of our house for people to take. After a while I'd noticed that most items had gone; success! Turned out that my husband took those items back in
(do we have a sarcastic smiley??). Long story short: most is still in the living room; the weather was too lovely to spend inside. I'll work through it in the next few evenings, 15 minutes at a time. We are putting everything in smaller boxes and bags to be able to grab something quickly if someone says they have space in their luggage when visiting husband's home country, or when there is some space in a sea container going that way.
I threw out a cotton bag my Aunt made for me 44 years ago. It's a nice fabric and a nice shape, but cut a little too low on the sides, so stuff falls out. It's not suitable for stitching up at the sides. Why did that decision take so long? The bag has always been bothersome!Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.5913 -
OH had declared we needed to clear the dining room. And promptly went to work on his computer. So I decided I'd sort out a painting that needed to be framed and that's hung on the wall now. Not in the right spot so will need to find a good home for it. I'd like it to be where I can see it when eating (rather than looking at the OH) but currently there's no picture hooks on that wall. Would like to get a picture hanging system there so I can change things regularly.
Realised too that in the dining room in the corner of shame there's an expandable cutlery holder which I think will fit in a drawer of the painting desk. That might mean I can keep it a bit clearer so I can actually use it for it's intended purpose. Will also attack the other corner of shame that has all the bits from our new kitchen. I've got a plan on where they can go so that's half the battle already won.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Well a big bag of photo frames went to the CS this morning (boy are they heavy when you have a lot) then, I whizzed off to my Book club to say cheerio to all of them It was really nice as they are all so pleased for me and I shall miss the friends I made there.
Then down to Hempstead Valley shopping centre as DGS Jack who lives out in the sticks at Goudhurst where he teaches at a boarding school wanted some fancy new room spray and diffusers for his flat.
So hunted around and tracked them down his descriptive text words were "They have a manly club type smell Nanny ":)
So I said better than grotty trainers and smelly socks aroma then, most young mens apartments/ bedrooms seem to have that sort of niff
Made him chuckle. I said no problem I grew up with two sporty brothers who seem to niff a bit at times
Apparently he couldn't get it online as they had sold out ,but I tracked it down and he will pick them up next weekend when he pops home for a day or so.
finally got back just now and am going to spend the rest of the afternoon with my trotters up drinking tea and probably watching some Tv (AKA 'reading the back of my eyelids ')

3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Monday is an overcast day & several degrees cooler. DH tempted me out of bed slightly earlier today (12:45) with a cup of tea 😊 I forgot to enclose a picture of the beanie + I plaited 43 bookmarks using up all my bits & bobs of yarn. DH is in the garage zizzing up worm food
Straight into cheerleading 🤞
Liverpool_Anne beautiful words for vulpix. Some great decluttering 👏 Hope you enjoyed both the birthday party & the gardening for ln 😊 Beautiful rambling rose & wow to the cuttings 😻
nannywindow, great work in the garden on Friday 👏 & well done on getting rid of all the weeds on the patio 🥳 A busy Saturday so I do hope you had a rest in the TLC Carriage on Sunday 😊
Wednesday2000, shame about the broken TV but if you are getting a council pick-up then it would be rude to use their time for just one item - so a perfect time to declutter some furniture 😉
Excellent decluttering mhagster 👏 Great to hear that your daughter is helping out by taking so many plants etc 😊 I agree with you about the hiking stuff - someone else should enjoy it & far less hassle involved giving it away rather than trying to sell 😊 Such a shame about the rhubarb 😔 I think I mentioned that I lost both my plants to rot this year ☹️
vulpix, please have a big cwtch from me 🤗 & may I have permission to give MrV a cwtch as well. Spending so much time in the garden is a lovely way to remember bit by bit 😊 I hope that you found plenty of plants to buy yesterday 😊
Florenceem, another busy weekend 👏 Catering for 60 on Saturday & double the number on Sunday 🤩 I really hope that today is a quieter day & that you can get some rest 🤞
Excellent decluttering Pennypincin 👏 Hopefully your purchases of plants & seeds will inspire you to get the flower beds sorted 😊
Excellent decluttering wishus 👏 & wll done earning a bit of money from selling the curtains 🥳
GrannyKate, fingers crossed that you resist the temptations of the car boot 🤞although having said that don’t forget to take a bit of cash for Justin 😅
vulpix, hope you enjoyed your visit to Cheshire 😊 I am sending lots of ‘you would love to spend time working on the garden’ thoughts to both your son & stepson 😉
Liverpool_Anne, sounds like a lovely Saturday at the family party 😊 So sorry to hear about the over the road neighbour 😔 Not a rant at at all - just an expression of concern & trying to get the ball moving in the correct direction 😔Not too sure that the woman from the “falls team” is in the right job with comments like that 😠 Hopefully his brother will have more more luck with the medical/social care establishment 🙏
TC77, sounds like you had a lovely weekend 😊 & well done on the decluttering 👏 Hope it was a ‘free open day at Hampton Court’ 🤞
vulpix, pleased to hear that you managed to spend a little money on plants/gardening equipment even if it wasn’t at the plant fair 😊 Of course that does mean you will have to find somewhere else to ‘spend, spend, spend 😅😉 Lovely cheerleading post & I trust you enjoyed your alone time yesterday 😊
mhagster, a busy weekend & an even busier week planned 👏 When is your moving date? you know how ‘curious’ I am 😂
I have caught up a little but need another cuppa 😉 DH is now in the garden sorting out worm trays - putting me to shame 😉 although I have managed to declutter a plastic bottle 771 😂

I've been fighting off a migraine today and the new meds the GP gave me didn't seen to work. It says not to bother taking a second dose if the first tablet didn't work. I have booked reflexology for next week, but I wish it was this week instead. I could text her to see if she has had any cancellations.
I did some decluttering at least and went through my costume jewellery and have a few to donate.

Hi members of the declutterati,
Vulpix biggest hugs, i was so sorry to hear about bit by bit and especially that they didn't inform you about the funeral. I think a rowan would be most lovely to be planted in her memory.
Florencem, i still get amazed by the sheer
amount of work you do for the SA. You are incredible and they are very lucky to have you.
London1, you house must be nearly empty!
And biggest hugs to everyone else x
Ive been missing in action lately! Been following along but not posting. Life here is crazy stress with the gcse exams, DD is not sleeping or eating much she is either studying or stressing because she's not studying!
She's in an exam now and ive just had a phonecall to say she's hunched over her paper and crying. 😭 They wanted to know if I had any suggestions! I just wanted to burst out crying knowing she was suffering so. This exam is her favourite subject and so there the most pressure (shes put on herself) weve suggested she has goes outside for a little walk and tries to reset. She has extra time and rest breaks. 🤞🤞Fingers and toes crossed she can dig a bit deeper and regain her composure!
It will be wine and chocolate tonight before we do it all again tomorrow!!

Vulpix the rogan tree sounds lovely. I was going to suggest a small mosaic somewhere for Bit and Pieces user name
Mrs F hope MrF gets the help he needs soon.
In other news I am not so good. Heat really affects me and I am so bloated it’s horrible.

Had a bit of a lie in today then got up and did the ironing.
Deep cleaned the downstairs cloakroom.
Popped to SA and sorted donations.
I got a trolley of stuff ready for Mr F - he took it into town this morning and posted a Birthday card.
I need to sort out my craft haul from Saturday - then I may make aprons with the flowery fabric I got.
I still have books upstairs that I need to declutter.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
