So I've had to stop the decluttering now and clear up so I can make some chocolate chip cookies for the kids before I pick them both up. I feel like I've barely started (not even got into my clothes yet), but as I am time poor, I tried to clear up as I went to avoid the inevitable tip afterwards. Kept getting distracted seeing other things in the loft or other places, so ended up being a slightly random declutter.I just stood in the loft and thought, "if this all disappeared tomorrow, would I actually care?". Answer was no, although I'd be slightly sad about some of my old Enid Blyton books that DS has started reading. Food for thought..Anyway, there's always another day for decluttering, so I will just try and get rid of the pile of stuff now before I make too much of a mess. Here's the pile of Buy Nothing and charity stuff. The cardboard box is nearly full, but I think I could stuff a few more things in there before I send it off to charity. I mean why... why did I have all that?!21 - clothes in storage for DD that I know she won’t wear (charity box)

I didn't do anything yesterday afternoon & evening - counting thousands of pounds was tiring.
Today I got up an hour later than planned.
I deep cleaned the porch and packed a shopping trolley of stuff for the charity shop before I went to SA.
Mr F took the stuff into town to the charity shop while I was at SA. I had donations to sort.
Just after we got home - Mr F fell in the garage - says that he didn't hurt himself.
The info about next week's procedure has arrived - Mr F can only have a low fibre diet for 3 days running up to his appointment.
I have been asked to take in the sides of a tee shirt so will get my overlocker out tomorrow morning.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Hello all, sorry I haven't kept up with all the posts again, I'll go and sit on the naughty step.
I was fed up of being in the TLC carriage so we went out yesterday to buy a new kitchen tap for the 'van as every time you turned it on last holiday you got a free face wash ! The price was an eye opening almost £100 😲. DH will try to fit it tomorrow so I'll make some sandwiches and a flask of coffee to take, very MSE, just in case it takes longer than he thinks to do it. We stopped at a local fish and chip restaurant for lunch on the way home yesterday, not MSE but it was delicious and no cooking or washing up.
I also bought a new suitcase with wheels yesterday ready for our holiday break next week and we had a dummy run filling it up today as I was sure it wasn't big enough, I was wrong ! We don't normally use a suitcase as we just take clothes over to our caravan on hangers and have done for 40 years.
I'm still plodding on clothes sorting and today in the cs bag went a new bra and a blouse, the latter has only been worn twice which is too now tight on the arms. I can't remember who said that your shape changes as you get older but that's absolutely correct, well in my case anyway, but I'm flummoxed as to when I got my batwings 🤷♀️.
I had a letter with my new oncology appointment today which will be next Monday. Not looking forward to that as I don't know which way it will go, but everything's crossed it will be ok.😯
Vulpix sorry DH hasn't yet got a date, I hope it comes soon.
Hugs to anyone in need.

A flying visit to add that we’ve rehomed a compost darlek that was no longer being used and 2 wooden pub chairs via our local reuse pages.✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

Sorry, back again.
Nanny, glad to hear you are out n about. A change of scene is good for the body. As for bingo wings, pah. me too. I am gutted that I look my age. That snuck up on me. I am giving my clothes another year then I will have to admit defeat.
I have just been through some bedroom drawers, non clothes. To go tomorrow a gift box that the car keys came in. a facinator. an unworn scarf and a bp machine cuff still in box from MIL. No idea why I kept it. I have put some toiletries in the bathroom to remind me to use them. I also found 3 earring cards for the previous;y mentioned earrings to go on. They look much more of a donation on a card.
I forgot to say I brought an electric fan home from Mother's. If the house wasn't fastened down we could be sailing away down the canal.it is so effective. Ugly but effective.
We went shopping in Sains whilst we were out, there arn't any where we live. Succumbed to a Summer top.I have ordered some sun for Bonny Scotland.

Oh my goodness. Got back from swimming and gathered up the stuff for DD’s bedtime. When I got upstairs, DS was decluttering with DD - he was pulling out books a pile at a time and DD was putting into piles which ones she wanted and which ones to get rid of. Then DS was putting the ones back she wanted to keep on the shelves. What have I created 🤣
I now have a huge pile of books to go through and DS has requested I buy him a memory box for his special things. My library and DH’s study are now a total tip 😬2025 decluttering: 3,452🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

Not much declutterring done today. A bit of packing , a wee bit of painting and a bit of working! However the very specific thing that my husband made with all the tiny electronic components that I gave away yesterday was the subject of a Facebook memory today! How randomly coincidental! From eight years ago today!14

A quick hello and check in before I catch up on 256 posts. Work keeping me busy but less stress thankfully. Glad I made the leap. In others news off on holiday in a week and dug out the summer clothes to discover nothing really fits 😯 and it's a special family holiday so want to feel good. So will be braving the shops/supermarket to buy a capsule holiday wardrobe. And this is after I have joined SW and actually lost some weight.
Decluttering wise still plodding along and carboot booked for the weekend.13 -
Queen Jess that's a big declutter, welcome back EnergyShifter and I think when you know there's a balance of in and outs, no need to count, and another thing decluttered.
Finally took bag to donation hub, think I counted some of the things, but more electronic, kettle and towel etc.
Monday posted 10 items and 3 lots of packaging so counting as another 23. But not bringing things in which makes a difference although modest outs. Still have to move things in kitchen to find space but will keep plodding hopefully with some bursts but work v busy, and RL with DDs and cats taking up my energy!

Hi all, I have been busy but not much decluttering, yesterday I did 3 hanging baskets for ln but we ran out of plants so 1 left to sort. I got 3 loads of washing through the machine and line dried so 3 LDFPA and the kitchen bin emptied. Today I took ln shopping for more plants and some other bits she needed, her dd has been picking up bits for her but she is wfh and is struggling a bit to fit it all in. When we got home we had a cup of coffee and then I sorted the last hanging baskets and gave everything a good watering, cleared up the mess I had made on the patio and hosed it down. The bedroom bin was emptied. After tea I started sorting out my knitting needles. I have aquired some from a friend and I inherited some others from a friend, I have my own and I am fairly sure I have my Mum's in the loft and they are stored in various boxes and bags. I have procrastinated over this as I really don't have a suitable storage system for them all to go in, but I have made a start. There are some that have lost their ends and some that don't appear to have a partner and some that have no size printed on them that I can see so I have just been sorting through trying to make pairs and wrapping masking tape around them. I will bin any odd ones, or ones without ends etc and try to get a needle sizer thing to get the size of the unknown. Then I will have to find something to put them in. I am thinking of a really useful box but it will have to be a long one
. Anyway it is a job I can do while watching the tv
@Moorviews my OH is a stack in a corner and ignore person as well, hence why I can't hoover the lr carpet. I also have clothes that are decades old and still in reasonable condition. I am just rotating them and anything that doesn't feel right is going to the cs. I haven't worn heels for years so those type of clothes have long gone
@Vulpix I read on another thread there is a very nice antiquarian book shop in Melrose. We are going away on 31st for a week. Yes we should definitely meet up but I don't think I can do it during that week. I will bring you some of my rose cuttings, maybe later in June after Mr V has had his appointment and you have a better idea where you are up to with that
@EnergyShifter nice to see you. Great news about the eye op
.
@QueenJess I know you keep saying you have too much stuff but what with the way you have trained your ds I doubt you'll have much left soon
@nannywindow, everything crossed for your appointment, hugs
On the subject of wearing clothes for your age I have to say I don't even think about it. I have never worn clothes that could be considered revealing as I have never really had the figure for them
. I wear clothes that are comfortable and allow me to do what I want without restriction, bras apart cos they are just uncomfortable full stop but I can't go without
. I wear trousers, tracksuit bottoms, capri pants or shorts depending on the weather and t shirts with added layers in the winter. I wear flat shoes, trainers and flat sandals depending on the weather and I have no intention of changing
. I wear the colours I like, totally ignore whatever colour is currently in fashion and even though my hair has changed from reddy brown to white I still wear the same colours
I expect to be buried in some combination of the above whenever that happens
Right better get to sleep, I am meeting up with a few friends for coffee tomorrow afternoon so that will be nice. Hugs to everyone who would like one.
