Hello. What a beautiful day it’s been.
For today:
A bookcase picked up after I manhandled it down the stairs.
I found some stuff that belonged to my dad. And it tipped me over the edge this morning. I should really just have put the wooden box straight into a cardboard box but no I decided to look through it!4 bags of stuff left my house to go to DD2 and also 3 boxes she’s been saying for weeks yes I’ll take them. So they are gone!Had some now empty cardboard boxes ( unsuitable for packing) in the garage so they’re out for the recycling bin tomorrow.Decided I only need one pan, one colander, one plate, 2 of each cutlery to do me till I move so all the rest got packed away. It will be like glamping 😆

I finished making the 3 aprons that were wips.
I have cut out and started some Christmas fabric aprons.
Mr F took a trolley of stuff to the charity shop.
I popped to SA to secure doors at 5.30 - I go back soon to lock up the building.

Some money decluttered for very old frog.
I finally had a curtain rail put up after far too long of not getting around to it.
I just need to now get curtains that fit, plus a spare set.
I also will need to get net curtains for both the living room, plus the bedroom so I at least have another set for when the current set are in the wash.
Edit to add that I also managed to cut the grass after 3 weeks of it not being done.Decluttering campaign 2023

Hi all, oh my Edna I have 11 pages to catch up with . I have been decluttering in fits and starts interspersed with lots of financial admin type stuff that is still continuing but I think I have mainly sorted. I have finished the union thing but 2 more have landed so I am working my way through them. I helped OH sort some stuff that took most of Monday and resulted in a lot of stuff being recycled and binned . I have been to the tip with 2 bags of hard plastic and some bits of metal from the garden, birthday presents have been bought, wrapped and posted off with cards from my stash and some weeds removed :smiley, and I have been to the footy .
Ln had her hernia op on Wednesday and I have been helping her daughter make sure she is ok, which she is but just needs to be told to do NOTHING for a couple of days, she needs watching , and then a few weeks of no bending, ironing, vacumming etc and she will need to be watched then as well . She is a very spritely 84 and used to doing things for herself . We have told her we are going to be the resting police to make sure she does as the doctor has told her . Her eye op is also fine and was very pleased to report that she could read something without her glasses so we think that means it has worked and she will get her other eye done, hopefully by August. Tomorrow I have to collect her plants from the church where she has ordered them from and probably on Saturday I will be making up her hanging baskets for her .
I haven't caught up with the posts but I will , I will just say hugs to anybody who would like one
I have a list of things I have done but it will take half a page to list them so I am adding 29
Take care everyone

@TC77 re you trying to get like with like, try having a "bigger area" for the like with like. Then, (I know its redoing things) put in a box or cupboard then visit then visit the bigger area again and do a sort out again. Stationery is a good example collect in a box or tin (in my case) and do a refine - found out I had kept felt pens and biros that actually didn't work. (These had come from parents house in bulk) I suppose when doing your own is find a small collection and re-sort this could be done in 10 minute stints and you would be checking as you went along. The visual here is seeing what HAD got thrown. I am a procrastinator and this gets things done but obviously slower but it works for me

Hi,
I slept a little better last night so feeling a little better today.
Nice to see you Liverpool Anne, I hope you are better now.
De cluttered DD1 to Glasgow at 8am where she is meeting her BF, they are going to a Birthday party then walking near Loch Lomond.
De cluttered Mr V to Nottingham where he is taking the dryer and dropping stuff of Mum's at the chazzer. He is dropping off the fan at the chazzer too. He won't take the big lamp as he likes it. I will try it with a bigger shade, but we all know it's card is marked.Hahaha.
When I have put yesterdays laundry away I will get out in the garden. Mr V bought me 2 trays of bedding plants from a man at the pub. ( would have preferred a goat) I never do bedding, I have no room in the actual garden, I will pot them up.
My spare room is inaccessible. Small room with a massive mattress stuffed down the back of the bed, 2 chests of drawers and now a china cabinet too. This is a temporary arrangement, possibly the stuff will be collected in the Autumn. The mattress was a royal pain. All the paintwork on my stairs is now scratched. My friends son used to work for a hotel chain and as a perk they could purchase 2 mattresses a year. This is one such perk. A huge indestructible yet mammoth lump of a thing. Very comfortable though.
I have been thinking about what I can declutter next. Some of my tool box I think. I have saved screws and nails ever since I have had my own house. Rarely is there the right one for the job. They will be winging their way to metal recycling very soon. I also have an impressive collection of handles and knobs. How many more pieces of furniture am I likely to re vamp? Not many, time to get ruthless.
One lonely bakerlite knob is on its way to Nottingham. Mr V's friend is going to make me a small display case for the wall, from a small glass door from a piece of furniture I restored and sold on. He won't like using old stuff, he only works with new. He has a very interesting business re fitting luxury aeroplane interiors for private clients. Oil money.
Have a pic of apple blossom. Looks like we could have Christmas Pippin apples this year.

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks + a weekly Jettison Junk in January
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 9:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Thursday stayed bright, sunny & warm all day. DSis headed off for her exercise/breathing class & I headed off an hour later to the sm to pick up my weekly magazine, some biccies & treated myself to a new double oven glove 😉 Got home & sorted accounts + finished the scarf & also descaled the kettle. DH phoned twice - he had a good day driving around the Lake District in the sunshine. The place he is staying in only does bar snacks so he was having a panino & a couple of beers before having an early night. Dinner for DSis & me was cottage pie & cauliflower cheese from the freezer. Wudupa. P.S. saw the letting agent for next door & asked him to contact the council to get the mattress & all the rubbish bags collected 🤞
744 - 746 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, newspaper - recycled
747 - 748 Kitchen detritus, old double oven glove - binned
Friday is another gloriously sunny day & temperature is already22C rising to a high of 23C. Had a nice chat with ndn D both of us bemoaning the fact that the recycling bins haven’t been emptied yet 😉 Ours is rather full so of course DSis has decided it is a good time to clear her room of recycling 😅 So far I have managed to squeeze in a stack of paper packaging & one dismantled box & some cardboard packaging + binned a large bag of polystyrene ‘chips’ - so at least my decluttering numbers are going up 😉
749 - 751 Paper & cardboard packaging, cardboard box - recycled
752 Bag of polystyrene chips binned
DH has just phoned, he skipped breakfast & has been travelling through Lancashire in brilliant sunshine 😊 Last landmark has been photographed & he is on the return journey (13:00) & is hoping to be home by 17:00 traffic conditions permitting 🤞Now back to dismantling boxes before I continue with the cheerleading. Although I have noticed & am sad to see that ‘daisythelab’ has removed all her posts 😔
I hope everyone is lucky enough to be enjoying some sunshine & warmth 🍀

I do wonder if there has been a near-miss somewhere on the whole forum re medical advice? They do seem to be quite quick to warn & remove posts that are of a medical nature.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇
