Good evening. Over the last few days I've pulled all the furniture out in the living room to get the last of the boxes out that need sorting in here. I've been asking DH to lift them over as they were to heavy for me but ended up playing the furniture shuffle instead. Sofa now goes back to the wall and I can get to the shelves that had been driving me mad. It's a 3x4 cube unit but everything was crammed on one side as couldn't reach to the rest of it. It's now all neat and tidy except for the top, which DH can do, as all his/DS2 lego is on there. As well as everything listed below there's 4 inches of paperwork waiting to go in the shredder.
Dh has spent hours on the garden today. Digging the weeds out and starting to make the ground level for the pool going up. He's now asleep on the sofa with the odd wake up and mention of how much pain he's in.
Old stickers
Pile of christmas cards- dd3 did them for the little kids at dance then didn't go christmas week and she's probably leaving in the summer so no point keeping them
Show tickets
Small bits of paper/card

Hello. Not been on here for over a week.

1033-1034. 2 cardboard boxes t6o recycling from the cupboard of doom
1035-1063 Various items of clothing given to a friend to take to the charity shop tomorrow.
Will admit I haven'[t read all the posts since I last logged ]in. Hugs to those that need them. Good luck to those that are moving home.

Gosh you lot, stop throwing yourselves about. It's awful falling over as an adult, you just don't expect to.xx
Will your daughter be living nearer to you ilovetea? I wish I hadn't encouraged my kids to spread their wings quite so far as they have!
I am not sure about the lamp. I think the shade is too small, or something. The proportions are not right. It will probably be winging its way to the chazzer soon. I must say,it is so easy to update a shade with new fabric. I have never done it before but I would do it again.
I listed loads on the local thrift site from Mum's,some claimed .Some not yet. Sold her garden shed thing, plastic storage whatsit. Washer collected. 2 boxes packed for the chazzer, 2 boxes to take to Mum. The black bin half filled with stuff so ancient it could have come from the pyramids. Some tools brought home for Step son. Cleaning stuff brought home that I will use. I brought a saw home, I am always wanting a saw for stuff. We are now, drum roll please,... ready to empty the under stairs cupboard of doom. Once that is done and the furniture completely gone, the house and garden will be empty. Oh,need to take all the curtains down. Cleaner booked for a week on Saturday. and breathe.
We went to our casualties meeting. Spent an hour practising injury makeup. We have homework to do and have been given a bag of makeup to do it. Could do without this really but we are committed.or should be.

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks + a weekly Jettison Junk in January
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 9:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Prior to spending a bit of time knitting, I sourced a Justin bag for my embroidery supplies 😊 Another one of my DM’s knitting bags which I had been reluctant to donate - now I know why 😉 Also a couple of pics of my practice embroidery stitches
It has rained on & off all day - a typical Bank Holiday 😉 During a couple of dry spells I spoke to neighbour J who had just got back from B+Q - he had been decorating & had run out of paint. Then a little later spoke to the ndns in the rented house. I thought they had already moved out but no, they are handing in the keys tomorrow having left the clearing out until the last minute 😉 DSis had lo spare ribs for her dinner whilst DH & I had ostrich burgers & ostrich steaks with chips & baked beans. Very tasty & very lean although we both preferred the burgers 😉 Wudupa.
729 - 732 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, foil trays, small cardboard box - recycled
733 - 734 Kitchen & DSis bedroom detritus - binned
London_1, absolutely brilliant result 🤩 Somehow, for me at least, it always feels so much nicer to actually know the person/people who are making use of decluttered items 😊
vulpix, fingers crossed that the estate agent can get a quick sale 🤞72 years in the same house, no wonder there was/is so much to declutter/clear 😱 Unfortunately this time around there is not enough time to visit Disneyland & the book sale at weenancy’s library is not due for a while yet so we will fit these in the next time we visit Canada/U.S.A. west coast. However we will have time to visit Muir Woods as I would love to see the giant redwoods again 😉 Fingers crossed that the last of the furniture & white goods are gone by the end of the week 🤞I like your brainwave - certainly cheaper than buying a new lampshade 😊
Floss, I see that weenancy has enlightened us - I must admit to it never having really registered with me that there are 2 Washington’s in America although deep down I knew 😅
weenancy, I am sad that such an innocuous word as ‘flakies’ especially coupled with the word ‘extreme’ seems to describe potentially very dangerous people 😔
Florenceem, very happy to hear that Sunday was not quite as busy as it could have been 😮💨
I really must go to bed now in the hope of getting up at a reasonable time 😉 I must try harder to catch up with the cheerleading but I keep getting distracted by the wonderful scenery 😉 Nightie, night 🛌

MrsSD - run out of supplies - me - I could have busted a rib laughing.
We walked there and back to Ald. yesterday - I could have done it much quicker but needed to toddle along with Mr F.
I spent time crafting and having a relaxing day.
Mr F has two phone calls today - one with a Doctor and the other with a nurse. I need to be here because of his bad hearing.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Hope you're ok granny Kate and not in too much discomfort.
It's tougher having accidents as adults.
I've one maths set out and and another in as the original set was well battered and had seen better days.
If I pass this time, I will try and re-home it.
I've really got to be more mindful of what I'm picking up, especially presents as a friend is going to get a big bag of stuff as I keep seeing odds and sods thinking 'that will be useful for her' or 'she will like that'.
It's small bits that I've found reasonably priced, but I never quite know what to get her and I asked her if there's anything she's after and I've forgotten to ask again and haven't had a reply.
I'm seriously cutting back with family presents wise as it's getting ridiculous. I buy just for my mum and sister. I end up having to guess what to get them most of the time and seem to spend a fortune.
I've managed to declutter 2 long IKEA shoe horns, but have brought in 2 pairs of gardening gloves and will hopefully have a free roller as duct tape coming in.Decluttering campaign 2023

Sorted out the book pile by my bed - 12 have gone out of the house.
Mr F has gone for his exercise into town with a trolley of stuff for the charity shop.
I am decluttering fabric this morning into aprons. I have a production line of 7 - two are for me so I can get rid of my tatty one and have a spare. I have an order for one apron and hope to sell the other four.
I am thinking of making some Christmas aprons - have plenty of fabric to use up after buying lots at a good price last year. Never too early to start Christmas crafting.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

I just jet washed the decking ready to paint it this week. It didn't take nearly as long as last time so that was only about half an hour. It is quite nice and warm out there - shorts weather. My husband went to drop off my library book and pick up another book and then go to Aldi to pick up a few bits while I did it. I will make lunch when he gets home with the bread.
I am making a bag for the charity shop to take this week. I saw a sign that one charity shop isn't accepting donations at the moment so I will have to walk to one of the other shops. I know I am putting in two glass jewellery boxes and two glass vases which I do like, but I can't be bothered to wrap them in bubble wrap when we move so they can go. I am going to donate all my drinks glasses too, but I will do that nearer the time. I will just buy new glasses or get them from a charity shop when I move to the new area. We did walk past a charity shop (in Ramsgate, I think) that does homeware so hopefully I can just find a set of glasses from somewhere like that.

2 banana boxes of very nice vases and stuff taken to the chazzer, Lots of things collected from Mum's front porch. Plastic storage shed thing collected from the garden. A big unused candle in a big glass jar of mine taken to the chazzer too.
In , a couple of books DD1 brought back from DS. It's great having my own librarian who sends books he knows I will enjoy. I had to send back Sometimes a Great Notion after a couple of chapters I just wasn't getting in to it, despite the brill title. DD1 has gone Sheffield way to see her friend's new house and go to charity shops together. There are only 2 charity shops where she lives. The poor girl thrives on a good charity shop purchase. We are going out tonight to a history thing. Guess the purpose of these old objects? Being geeks it sounds just up our street. Mr V working tonight.
I am off to craft club. I must get a tote bag made before Friday morning when DD1 goes to meet her BF in Glasgow.
Big day tomorrow re the house. After the Estate Agent has been I will empty the cupboard under the stairs and survey the task in hand. I aim to have disposed of the majority of the contents by going to the tip, thrift etc by the end of the day. We also need to get DD1's stuff back to mine and stored whilst she is here to help.
Gotta go. Vx:15
