@Brie forgive me if you've already said, but would a charity not take your fridge and freezer for free?

Evening all.
Quiet day but children now decluttered until Thursday so cleaning up and tidying a priority for next few days. Not confident I have completely decluttered the cold - perhaps a couple more days

More decluttering this afternoon, lots of paper stuff shredded I swear its been multiplying itself. I have an alcove in my sitting room with two plastic boxes in and I got them down and was ruthless in getting rid of the junk inside. basically stuff I had tucked away meaning to put it somewhere safe ,then forgot about it.Now only one small box with some sewing needles and threads in.
I've got so as I move around my house I keep spotting stuff to get rid of ,often not big stuff just small odds and ends.
I agree about Tom Cruise pretty to look at as he is, he is definitely no where near a Jack Reacher character who is supposed to be a rugged 6'2" love the books though.
Cookery books will be decluttered tomorrow I think I have a whole shelf of them collected over the past 50 plus years They really have to go.I still might keep the first one I bought in 1962 when I got married It was a 'Meals for Two' from Woolworths and it cost me 2/6dI will keep it for sentimental reasons as I used it to cook for my then brand new husband

@Brambling I will read the instructions , I know these things take time to get to grips with.
Leather gloves and 2 bowls in cs bag and tights and socks in textile recycling. Not moved frog forward which I must tomorrow but need to read what legally I need to do and not in that frame of mind. Decluttered some stress with afternoon off and a photography exhibition.
Did occur to me to pretend I'm moving and focus on what I would take but too far ahead and abit ambitious so will carry on tinkering:)
Agree Mrs SD you.must bit neglect your own things for such detailed cheer leading . Do take care of you and Mr SD.

Everyone seems so active and positive on this thread and I can't believe the effort Mrs_Salad_Dodger puts in to her cheerleading.
Decluttering is very random at the moment but I have decluttered 60 items this year!
Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to declutter Covid 😷

3 boxes of vintage books decluttered today, to a charity bookshop that specialises in such things, on the way back from delivering 3 items that DS3 had managed to leave behind after his Christmas visit. Every little helps! But I am now going down with a massive cold so may miss my best opportunity to declutter some excess stock by having a sale on my stall this Sunday; it would be irresponsible of me to pass this on to my customers, plus I doubt I'll be fit to prepare for it tomorrow, and a long day's hauling stuff, setting up, trading and packing down would probably finish me off. Don't like letting the team down but needs must. Maybe I can sort out more excess stuff in the sewing room instead...Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)19

Hello all, still in the TLC carriage awaiting an MRI and more test results. We managed to get through xmas day and boxing day then we both went down with the cold lurgy as did my Dad. I've had no energy to take the decorations down but will have to try tomorrow. I've only recycled some of the xmas cards today and didn't keep any of them for Justin as I haven't used up last years 👼. Maybe I'll recycle those too..... New Year new broom !
The fridge has been emptied and unfortunately some lo food has been binned. I also emptied the fruit bowl as neither of us has had the appetite for fruit, so 7 satsumas and a bunch of grapes have gone in the food waste 🙁. Now eating cakes and chocolates has been another thing entirely and many thanks to whoever is filling up the TLC carriage buffet plates. (Note to self:- must get back on the diet asap !!!)
I have decluttered lots of recorded tv programmes and many emails, plus the daily detritus has left the building. Gone too the plastic sweetie tub and the cardboard boxes from other OOD xmas foods. I still have some uncooked party food in the freezer, but I'm sure the DGC will polish that off when they next visit.
Hugs to anyone under the weather or struggling for any reason.

Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently20 -
A busy day for me. Sorted a few frogs: Discussed financial plan with DS1. He got it immediately and informed me he has spent nothing on food today while he took GS1 out for the day. His soon to be ex wife is studying.
Also today took MiL and FiL to get snow boots for a Norwegian cruise they have booked and also booked the actual cruise for them.
Pleased with that.
1 mixed bag out of books, final christmas presents and and online sale.
Still struggling with the lurgy but getting better skowly.

House is feeling so much more fresh from a soft and clean/repeat. And also just makes the bits not yet done cry out for some attention. Freezer defrost tomorrow and sort out. The wardrobes too hopefully. Having a positive impact on satisfaction levels and general well being. Beginning to feel like I’m winning 🎉Emergency Fund: 1000/2000April Grocery Challenge: 150/550

Mr V is out tonight so I have pottered and put all my ornaments back out after the Christmas decorations have gone away. Somehow I have cut my thumb but didn't know and was wondering why everything was wet and sticky! Only then did I notice blood drips on the floor and my jumper! I think an amethyst geode is to blame. Every time I tried to do anything the thumb bled. A sign to sit and watch telly. Actually what I came on to say was I am so enjoying my sitting room now all the work is finished and we have the rug back down and curtains. I like everything in the room,it gives me great pleasure. It's quite minimalist for me and feels peaceful. I was thinking that if it was an air B n B I would like to stay here.
Earlier I put away all the crockery that I took to the air B n B. Managing to break a glass dish as I did so. Also ousted a couple of fancy tins that I would have kept in the past for Justin. Mind you Justin came good earlier. About 10 years ago I had some trousers with a tie waist and ugly grey plastic toggles on. Said toggles have been waiting in my button box for their time to shine. Mr V found a grey cagoule that no one has claimed. I have washed it and replaced the missing toggles and it has now gone to the charity shop.
The spare room is sorted. Bed made up, all Christmas bedding washed and on the airer.
I am very surprised to be finding stuff to go. There will be no big items this year like furniture, It will be mostly clothes I think that are too big or tatty. A nightie I bought for my holidays last September went today, too big.
I have written a to do list. Some things are quite mature frogs. I will make a start next week when I am properly better.
Brie when does the work in the kitchen start?
