TC77 I'm still getting the hang of my 15 in 1 - TBH i don't think i will use all the functionality. If you are on FB there are several groups which offer help and advice, I don't tend to comment in them but when searching most there is always answers to questions and recipes with timings. YouTube is also a good source of help there is a lady i've watched a few times 'Free From Lifestyle' who is good and I got tips for roasting a chicken etc. i have made bread in it as it has a prove function (my kitchen is too cold) and baked it but using 500g bread mix pack so not a big loaf. I do have a cake tin which fix in but haven't made a cake yet just shortbread for christmas. I recommend something to protect your arms if you are short like me! i brought some long arm gloves from am*zon which saved burning my arms. Use it and work out what extras you need to get for example i brought a pullman tin which fits in it and makes a small loaf as my loaf tin was too big. I'm using the steam airfry option to roast my small chicken tonight it will take about 40 mins for a 1.2kg bird and i can add the potatoes in as wellLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin20

Phew! Just had a huge catch up whilst enjoying a lie in and some rare sunshine flooding the bedroom. My excuse is that I have a cold 🤧 Welcome to the new members of the declutterati 😊 I can see that you are starting to get the bug with the declutters already! 👏
Mrs SD - you are correct in that much of the loft is filled with the possessions of either the generation below or above us. In theory this should make it easier once we get down to it although I am inclined towards keeping things that could be used by grandchildren- that will be my sticking point!
@Dfw38 - glad to hear that you got everything worked out in the end and were still able to maintain the relationships. Really well done as that wasn’t easy 💐
It has been a slow start for me as it is still Christmas here, with visitors until yesterday and Christmas decorations up. Decorations will come down today. Lots of paperwork has gone though and I am ready with my empty folder for the year ahead. The jam jar collection has been reduced but should still be enough for marmalade and chutney making. Most of the Christmas presents have gone with just a few more to deliver from extended family. Like most people we have enough chocolate, biscuits and snacks in to last a couple of months. I have asked Mr MV to remember this when he is out near shops and feeling peckish! The fridge is looking more empty and we are ploughing through the remaining vegetables, with roasts, bakes and soups. It combines well with using up the cheeses. I made butter from a large pot of cream as I couldn’t face another rich dessert option. I look forward to giving the fridges a good clean- well not really but it will be necessary! My car also passed its MOT thankfully 😅 as I was dreading something needing doing. A small local garage this time as the main dealership always tells me that I should be replacing something. Very interesting 🤨
I hope you are all benefiting from some sunshine wherever you are and that everyone has a good day. Especially hope that the poorly ones make use of the TLC carriage and start to feel better.21 -
@ilovetea "Was full of good intentions today. Opened the door of the cupboard of doom. Had a quick look and shut the door quickly!" Do you actually put items in and take items out of this cupboard of doom? If not, and you haven't for some time, I'd say it can all go

Oh, I forgot that Io include a microwave in my kitchen appliances. My Dad was one of those people who always had the newest gadget. A microwave was one in the early 1980's. It was the size of a caravan, haha, I remember experimenting and putting an egg in until it exploded! doh!
I have washed my trusty dressing gown and will donate it. Considering it's about 12 years old it owes me nowt and a testament to M n S. I had a new one last Christmas which I have yet to wear. When I sorted the chest of drawers I revived the bras in storage which were too small. They fit again so I am giving them a wear and if they are uncomfortable they are going. So another one in the bag. I must confess to an underwear habit. It gives me a boost to know that I am ready to be run over at any time! My underwear is presentable! No actually it is something that I think boosts your confidence. A little bit of self love.
TC77, yes I am in maintenance now, It;s a bit boring really. I got quite addicted to decluttering. I can always go and do an hour at my Mothers house if I am in the mood to declutter. I have to do small chunks there as it is over whelming.

Thanks @Moorviews, you are right it wasn't easy - my negotiating and diplomacy skills were finely honed by the end of the process- but there is no point giving myself an ulcer for the sake of it!
Tip run today and 2x large items out; my foam from my king-size mattress I replaced and a keyboard of my dad's that doesn't work. Going to do some sorting in the front room today, hoping to fill a bag 😁2024 decluttering Campaign

Morning chums, decluttered four books to CS plus an electronic calculator and my pre-lit Christmas tree. Won't need it next Christmas as I will be moved hopefully by then, and DD has two trees. Every time I go across to the small precinct I take something for the CS as we have two in there.
Golly its a cold one today though I nipped into the estate agents to let him take a copy of my passport, driving licence and council tax bill so they know I'm not money launderingapparently its what you have to do when selling .The chap bless him made me a nice hot cuppa as it was so nippy. Its a real cold wind blowing at the moment here, so now I'm back home lots of hot drinks today I think the heating is blasting away as if my joints get cold I just seize up. But I've had my dose of fresh air and that was enough , never even thought to go into Tescos I'm eating from the freezer and cupboards
lots of left over Christmas bits to be used up first

Everyone is really on board this year.
I'm on day 5 on Dry January. It hasn't been so bad as I had thought it might. I have found some books on my kindle that look very interesting. I'm on Lucy Clarke - The Castaways at the moment, I read it has been made into a TV show on Paramount+. I'm also watching Seal Team which has some very nice eye candy in it. Ooh, actually speaking of eye candy isn't the new Reacher out today?!
