9-10) Christmas decs x 2 out, managed to pop one in the recycling
11) teddy bear extremely worse for wear-binned. Did try to save, not valuable and not much sentimental value, but like to get reuse where i can
Just putting Christmas decs back in the back cupboard which is not the easiest place to get to. While putting decs back
12) Found a piece to a cartoon clock decluttered long ago-piece now in recycling.
13) Bottle of gunk been there for years…..not now-recycling
14) Some extremely old weed killer, again been there for years-decluttered
By the back door to the back cupboard is a massive bag of dog crunchies, too heavy to move, been there for years and left after bought for local animal sanctuary and the cats slashed the bag and attacked the crunchies. It literally has just been dumped and left. Decided today that i would start to declutter it. Took in a recycling bag, filled it with crunchies. Will continue to do this until i can move the bag,
15) First bag of dog crunchies into recyclingDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A dry start to Thursday 🙂 I was up & dressed before 11:30. Now have my first cuppa & am sat at the table, timer on & I am off 🙂
There are a few people who boarded on the first 9 pages of the thread who I have not yet welcomed properly, so will set that right first 😉
Nice to see you back MadamMim2013 👋 Hopefully we will see a bit more of you this year & 2024 will not be as weird as 2023 😉
Welcome aboard the EDT, itsthelittlethings 👋 That sounds like a great plan 😊 It is a lovely feeling seeing a decluttered floor - somehow makes rooms seem more spacious 😊 & if there are clear flat surfaces as well 🥳 Happy decluttering 😊
Welcome aboard tiddles 👋 A good target to set - as you say 3 items out per day will be 1,098 items for the year 😊 You will certainly notice a difference especially if they are ‘visible’ items being decluttered 😊
Soontobeoap, how cheeky of your DH 😉 I have noted your target of 150 bin bag sized loads & which areas you would like to tackle & I hope that DH will be helping out (to make up for being a cheeky monkey 🐵) I am looking forward to finding out how you answer the conundrum of counting ‘INs’ 🧐 Now that the festive season is well & truly over, I hope you have managed to resume your routine 😊 A great start to your additional target - 3 household tasks on the days you don’t go out - especially as it means you are not only tidying & decluttering but also cleaning 👏 Hopefully you will win the battle of the 20 year old Christmas tree 🤞 after all you must have loads of photos over the years 🙂 Perhaps you could collate the photos & make some sort of framed montage to hang on the wall each Christmas 🤔😉
Fizz2015, lovely to see you back aboard the now fully re-stocked EDT 👋 Hopefully you managed to get all your Christmas preps completed & had a lovely festive period 🤞The weather was so naff that I was not surprised to hear that it didn’t feel like Christmas 😔 Your targets have been noted - 2024 + 7,000 work emails to be deleted (carried over from 2023) - Good luck 🍀I see that you made an excellent start to 2024 - raring to go from the 1st of January 🥳 Hope you got the ironing done 😉
Just noticed that if I don’t post this quickly I will not make P25 😧 Nope, too slow 😂

Thank you for the welcome, Mrs SD.I originally stated my decluttering aim to be 1098 physical items for the year, but have now decided to include digital decluttering and frogs, so have increased my total to 2024.
Thank you all for your motivating posts!
Today I have recycled 30 birthday and Christmas cards, as well as saving the front of some of them to use for shopping lists.17 -
Thanks for the warm welcome back Mrs SD ☺️ much appreciated!
Inspired by you all I found an armful of clothes that does not fit or that I don’t actually like and put in a large bag ready for the charity shop.I already have a large bag waiting to go already in the garage and a box of books too.
Body has been badly behaved in the last year, possibly menopause related, no one seems any the wiser 🤷🏻♀️🤣
It’s left me tired and with a 3 1/2 stone weight gain 😳
I am determined to declutter that as well this year, no matter how hard it is..
House is now back to me and my boys (DS1 & DS2) who are 23 and 20 respectively.
DP is still in my life, just not in my home.. he moved out last July, needs to resolve issues and make better life choices! 😔
Still a support worker full time along with caring for mum, life is busy!
Anyhoo, it’s good to be back with you guys, you give me focus.. it’s needed and appreciated.. 💐 for all and a huge 🌟 going to Mr SD for her amazing cheerleader skills and dedication us declutterers 😉"There's a little witch in all of us"🔮🪬🧿DEBT FREE 06/2018Mrs SD’s Decluttering 2025 ⭐️ 🥇18 -

I have had a little flurry of activity 🙂 Last night’s leftover pasta has been made ready to bake - I added the remainder of the passata & the grated Parmesan. I have also fried the raw chicken pieces from the fridge. These will be allowed to cool then bagged up for the freezer. DH is up & Dsis has made a few forays from her room 😉 Now back to cheerleading
Welcome back StickyTheStickInsect 👋 You are another of our declutterati who is glad to see the back of 2023 😔 I am keeping everything crossed that your health will show a marked improvement over the course of 2024 🤞Your target of 52 bags has been noted 🙂 Very pleased to hear that DH helped out with the decluttering over the festive period before returning to work yesterday 😊 You have made an excellent start to your 2024 Decluttering Campaign 👏 A ‘pox’ on all those people who failed to turn up to collect items - on 2nd thoughts I will be more generous - perhaps something cropped up that prevented them from turning up 😉 I hope today’s return to school wasn’t too fraught 🤞
Welcome back leftatthetrafficlights 👋 I am looking forward to seeing your list 🙂 Thank you for the lovely comments ☺️ I love your list especially No.17 - “declutter 24ins from body (added total!😉)” 😊 Good luck 🍀
Lovely to see you again Deni_debt-free_dreamer 👋 Sounds like you are another one of the declutterati who is looking to move house 🙂 seems to be something in the air this year 😉 I have made a note of both your overall goal & your mini goals 🙂 Creating a tranquil space will be a great place to start 👏😊 followed by decluttering some employment 😉 with all that work I am surprised you find time to eat & sleep 😥 Good luck 🍀
foxandflowers, lovely to see you back from the TLC Carriage 👋 I do believe you might be joking about 450 items of clothing to list on V*nted 🙃😉 If not I wish you luck 🍀 & hopefully you will not only sell everything but get fair prices🤞Is the money raised for something special? - you do remember how ‘curious’ I am 😂
Welcome back Foofoopuppy 👋 Great news that you are in Maintenance Mode 🥳 After all your hard work I am pleased to hear that you will be making sure that clutter doesn’t sneak back in 😊 The ‘1 In, 1 Out’ method should work a treat 👏 It not only stops clutter but hopefully saves you money 😊 Good luck with the weight loss 🍀 What a good start to your Maintenance decluttering journey - 1 In, 2 Out 👏 Hope the new App (for keeping food stocks under control) works 🤞especially as Mr Puppy is on board 😊
Nailqueen, sorry it has taken so long to welcome you aboard the EDT 👋 Big plans afoot - downsizing prior to retirement 👏 - Martin Lewis would be so proud 🥹 I must confess that I have always wanted a cellar but had visions of it being an extra room 😉 How foolish of me, I have finally realised that it would be just one more space to fill with clutter 😂 Very pleased that you have found us - the declutterati family will cheer you on, applaud your successes & commiserate when things don’t go to plan 😊 2024 is Your Year 🙂 You have made a good start with the paperwork 👏
Concentration is flagging, even though I had a break to have a bowl of hm soup 😉It was even tastier today 😋 I am going to watch a bit of TV & do a bit of knitting but am hoping to come back later 🤞 P.S. Finally noticed that it is raining & has been for quite some time 😱

Need to have a look in all the odd cupboards in the kitchen for things that need to be binned. And I remembered that I had a couple of years back bought a quantity of barley flakes. Nice to make something that is like oatmeal but has more fibre. But they've languished in there and I'm wondering if there is something better to do with them rather than "waste" them by binning. I would guess I shouldn't put any of it out as bird feed but wondered if I could use some mixed with top soil for my spring bulbs.
Or am I being completely mad!?!??

I tentatively left the TLC carriage today. Felt a bit restless so persuaded DS to help me fill up the Hippo bag for collection.. They guy doing the bathroom said he would do it when he comes back but we managed it fine & it felt nice for it not to be piled in front of the house. I was tired out after doing that so had a lovely shower and have enjoying been pottering this afternoon.
The floating bedside tables that I left outside were not taken after 48 hours which is very unusual for here. So I had a brain wave and switched the around for the less neat looking storage in DS' wardrobe - it looks so much tidier. (numbers remain the same as a straight swap 2 for 2).
Tasks
Another mini- bite sized chunk of accounts
Filled up Hippo bag
Got refund for broken shower hose
Had a tidy around in the loft

@Floss I agree, the pace is impressive, and Mrs SD's cheerleading.
Advice please re kitchen appliances. I've just bought a multi cooker primarily as my big oven broke (range cooker which is wasted on me) and as I may move and have coped with a grill and hob seemed a good option and advice on another thread. It is big (but middle size) - do people use and like them? As I have option of returning.
I will have an oven when I move which could be some time away!
Then I have heavy kitchen aid blender but thinking hand blender may be enough - happy to have slightly lumpy soup etc and really want to have less in my kitchen - and any other advice about things I may not need. I know I have too many casserole dishes (the irony of not having an oven is not lost on me)
Too wet after work to go to CS but another item put in it.
