Thanks all for the congrats on the exam
@vulpix bees spoke would bug me however definitely find another jeweller. I periodically do a course with a jeweller and she’s completely pro robbing the stones out of unworn pieces. Given half a chance she’ll melt the metal down and reuse that too in the same piece
@weenancyinAmerica i was at York Castle Museum earlier this month. They’ve had to close parts as parts had been identified as structurally unsafe (same issue as some 1960s schools) so lots of the old utensils aren’t on show. There is an excellent WWI exhibition however.✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

Got DS to do a bit of decluttering as he seems obsessed with spending all his money acquiring stuff whilst we are out. He agrees he has too much stuff, so we are trying a 2 out 1 in scenario. He bought 5 cars earlier, so decluttered 10 things from his room (not everything ends up in the numbers below though as they don't always leave the house if I will reuse them for DD for example).Watched some minimalist home tour videos and now feel like I live in a hoarder's house
Anyway, it was some of the motivation I needed and DS sat with me whilst I went through my jewellery box (good experience I feel to see me declutter as usually I do it in dribs and drabs whilst he is at school). Almost got rid of half and one item is pending to see if they are a pain to wear or not.
Physical:
6 - DS cars (charity box)
2 - DVDs (charity box)
2 - DS tat recycled/charity box
23 - jewellery sent to charity
1 - packaging reusedNew total = 6,151I think my new rough rule of thumb is to pick an area and try to get rid of almost half of the stuff there. Not sure which area I will pick next, although tempted by the bathroom drawer. It's more complicated when you have kitchen/bathroom stuff that needs to be used up as it takes a bit longer to do.

@vulpix the bees spoke would also put me off!
Decluttered energy today, had a walk and a swim. Went out for breakfast at new place, nice food but v dirty loo so won't be returning. More fabric decluttered into new dress20 -
@Florafauna that’s beautiful!Good luck to everyone moving houseI’ve decluttered a few more beauty products this evening - eye mask, face mask, bath salts. It has been very relaxing but also nice that I’m starting to notice the new free space those things were taking up

Ooo Floss I need no encouragement with clothes.
Queen jess, I think it's a good thing to revisit categories with the children. It is easy to forget what they already have. I am another who cooks from scratch. I feel ill if I have too much convenience food.
Flora, beautiful dress and fabric.
I went through my bedroom drawers. So to go, a hat, scarf, book read and returned, 2 cardigans, stamps to post off to charities, jeans and 8 hand knit baby items.
Spent a lot of the day washing the garden bench and painting 2 coats of paint on it. It still needs turning over and the seat given several coats of paint.
Can we have a pic when the kitchen is done please Crazycat lady?

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks + a weekly Jettison Junk in January
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 9:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
🙊 Never did come back Thursday. DSis got back about 16:30 - absolutely exhausted 😔 I did nothing apart from knit & watch TV. Dinner was spaghetti with bolognaise sauce & garlic bread (both from freezer) Wudupa. Forgot to mention that the Recycling wheelie bin was emptied - only a week late 🥳

I was up late today (Friday) just gone 12:00. It is very overcast - big black clouds promising even more rain & very windy ☹️ Update at 13:50 the clouds have blown away & there is a fair amount of blue sky 🙂 I have menu planned for the the long holiday weekend & written a shopping list for DH who is just about to head off. DH absolutely hated shopping today as MrS was overcrowded with people leaving their trollies in the middle of aisles, standing around or changing direction with no warning. Apparently the world & its wife were stripping the shelves 🤷♀️ as if the sm was going to be shut for a month instead of one day ☹️ Everything packed away. DH filled the bird feeders. I spent the whole afternoon & evening knitting & watching TV. Dinner was fish in breadcrumbs, oven chips & peas - all from freezer. Wudupa.

Hi all, much better day yesterday, things actually left the house
.I did put 3 loads through the machine and the first load was jeans that were almost line dried
. Luckily I was in the kitchen and heard the first drops of rain on the conservatory roof and dived out to get them in before the torrential rain and then hail stones came down
. The reason I was in the kitchen at that particular moment was because I was dealing with a frog, finally I washed the teddy bear
and another bear I found that my dsis gave me for my 21st which is dressed like Paddington plus 5 more soft toys, only 2 of which could go in the machine. So they are laying on a towel in the conservatory to dry. I am claiming 2 for this as it took ages, I must say I didn't actually realise how threadbare ted was until I was sponging him down but at least he's clean now
. I have a couple of those sock drying things, no idea what they are called but it's a contraption with loads of pegs on that you peg socks and bits on then hang it on the line. Anyway 1 broke yesterday so that went into the bin. I could have fiddled about with it and possibly found a work around but I cba
. I will have to get another one though as OH's socks take up far too much room on the maiden
The easter gift for ln was taken in as we won't see her until next week as she has a busy family weekend ahead. I finally took a pic of the knitting, 100 g yarn uu,
and got that wrapped also the book for my dsis wrapped using packaging from my stash and I will get them in the post today fingers crossed
. Finally the kitchen bin was emptied.
Today I also hope to get a couple of batches of soup made but I will have to play freezer jenga first to make sure I can get them in
@Vulpix that jeweller does sound a bit odd, I am struggling to imagine why bees would come into a conversation about wedding rings. Do you think it might be some kind of secret society and that was the password which you were meant to reply to? Hope the sun shines for you, the forecasts here are a very mixed bag
@weenancyinamerica I still use all those kitchen items and when I was teaching cookery the pupils used them as well
@QueenJess exactly the same questions went through my mindI also cook mostly from scratch but I am hampered by not having a working oven, I have a microwave/oven combo so sometimes limited by space
I do quite a bit of batch cooking on the hob though
.
@D123456789 I can visualise that treehold on to the thought that it can all go on Monday
@Florenceem that sounds nasty, I hope the chap was ok.
@crazy_cat_lady the kitchen is looking good so far
@Florafauna another lovely dress
@Mrs SD, sympathies to Mr SD re the sm, I was exactly the same, ridiculous the amount of stuff being loaded into trolleys.
Ok off for another cuppa, hugs to anybody who would like one
477 sock hanging thing binned
478 easter gift to ln
479 100g yarn in
480 & 481 parcels wrapped
482 & 483 teddies washed
484 kitchen bin
Take care everyone

Hi again, the cowl and fingerless mitts

@Liverpool_Anne really lovely work and great colour combo. Just been downtown and it's busy but nice. OH has insisted we need a big shop so has set off on his own to the supermarket. I'm going to sit on the garden bench and knit.
Have decided to start packing up the house next week by going through cupboards upstairs, think there is still lots to go. Bought fabric today but it will be turned around quickly into two summer dresses for DD15
