Hi all, reasonable day today, I am starting to feel better so sorted out a few things. We had replaced a few light bulbs at OH's house when we were trying to sort out the electrics and had brought the bulbs home to test them. Well they have been sitting in a bag in the lr for a week so I tested them. 1 was dead, 1 blew all the sockets and I had to sort that out, the rest were ok so 2 bulbs put aside to go to the tip recycling and the ok bulbs put with the rest of the spare bulbs. @tibawo does that count as a frog
.
On Monday we are going to a good garden centre to buy a fruit tree for a friend's son and fiance as an engagement present and then taking the tree to friend's house. I remembered when I last saw this friend that I said I would bring her some jigsaws I have, she enjoys doing them, usually buys them from the cs and donates them back when she has done them. Anyhow I went into the room of doom and after shifting a few things I found them. 6 have been sorted to take on Monday. I know there are more in there and will dig them out next time we visit. I was going to take them to the cs but I know that is where they will end up but she can enjoy them on the way. While in the room of doom I pulled 3 bags out and sorted through them. 1 bag had gifts from work so they have been put away. 1 was a bag full of gift bags and wrapping paper so they were sorted through, 3 bags recycled and the paper was sorted with the tatty stuff into the bin or recycling, the rest were put with the wrapping stash. I think we have enough bags and paper to last the next 10 years
. The 3rd bag was a sort of toiletries bag, soap shower gel and liquid soap into the bathroom and the body lotion has been passed on to ln. I hardly use body lotion and I have loads, it's always left over from gift sets so now I know ln uses it, always buying it apparently, I will hunt out some more for her
. Then the toiletries bag was binned, very battered and tatty. The bedroom recycling and bathroom bin were emptied. After tea I got back to my knitting which I haven't been motivated to do for about a week so I was pleased about that. You might notice that once again no ironing was done
. I looked at it a couple of times but that was as close as I got
Tomorrow I will be going to the footy and if I get myself organised early enough I can go via the tip as apart from the light bulbs I have 2 bags of hard plastic to go. OH has been prepping veg this evening and plans on batch cooking tomorrow so glad I will be out
@Florafauna hope the viewing went well
@Vulpix I don't know anyone who has owned a lab who has said they were intelligent, lovable and family friendly yes but either thick or daft
. I do like them though.
. Skipfulls of cutlery, o my edna if our school cook knew she would cry, for some reason only known to the cutlery gods we never seemed to have enough, as fast as she ordered it it disappeared
@Muddy_Walker I made a point of watching the fly ball, never seen it before. It was brilliant and didn't the dogs enjoy it?
@Mrs SD, thank you for my medal, it was indeed very smelly, even with my blocked nose it announced it's presence
Right time to get to sleep so hugs to anybody who would like one
363 light bulbs sorted
364 jigsaws sorted
365 gift bags and wrapping paper sorted
366 body lotion to ln
367 toiletries bag binned
368 bedroom recycling emptied
369 bathroom bin emptied
Take care everyone

Morning all - not much to report in but reading along. DS2 and children made goodies yesterday but none left for TLC carriage. DGS4 went for a sleepover with neighbours grandson and took traybake with sprinkles with him. DS2 is doing roast lamb today. Our first dog was a Labrador - a lovely dog but daft right up until we lost him at 11 - he never quite grew up. DS2's friend had a chocolate lab which used to come to our house and do zoomies up and down the stairs (they lived in bungalow so guess it was a novelty) bouncing off the beds to increase his momentum. Late DH loved dogs so he encouraged him! Went to look at the outside of a house which was quite promising then discovered it was not for sale any more. Need to ensure house is tidy as sale should start tomorrow or Tuesday.
304 Meeting attended on Zoom and three follow up frogs done immediately. Papers recycled.2025 Decluttering Campaign 648/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Labradors are gorgeous dogs, grew up with them but not always the brightest of sparks but so loyal and loving.
Had great feedback from the viewing so let's see if they offer. Have some jars of home made jam to declutter, found them in a cupboard and way more than we will eat. Also decluttered 4 pairs of socks yesterday that have all worn out. I'm going to also sling a pair of boots as the soles are gently removing thselves from the uppers
Have a good day folks, rainy and damp here14 -
@QueenJess re DH and his way of tidy/decluttering could/would you consider putting his like with like for him to see just how much there is of what he has got. Even decanting products into another vessel would count as a declutter. He must see and hopefully comment on what you have already achieved in the house. I read it didn't quite work with the coats though
I know and understand it's adding to your work load but repetitive persistence will pay off.

Happy Mothering Sunday.
Love the talk of Labs. Before Rolo I had a black one called Jet. She was much brighter and easier to train than Rolo but the bar was set low there. Jet was also fond of zoomies. She had lots of friends. She used to go and visit the neighbours who saved her scraps on a plate. she used to bring the plates home and they were washed and returned. One day she brought an old boot home so it was thrown in the bin. A neighbour came round asking for it. Her husbands work boots had been left on the step where scraps were usually left so Jet helped herself. My last dog was a springer spaniel, you think labs are bonkers! I love to watch flyball, the dogs love it so much,it's a joy to see.
Flora, we could come round with our mobile gazebo disco and do your leaving party when you move!
LiverpoolAnne, we are just about to go and get another apple tree as a mate for the one I got for Christmas. I think school cutlery goes into the food waste bin never to be seen again. I hope the 3 skips of cutlery was destined for recycling. A terrific waste as a lot was unused. I dare not name the company for fear of our friends friend being prosecuted. I will do a photo later.
Granny Kate, I took one of my houses off the market because I couldn't find anywhere to move to. I got a note through the door from someone saying they were just about to make an appointment to view and I had withdrawn it. So that became a private sale. If you like the look of the house pop a note through the door, you never know. Another time I was thinking of putting the house up for sale and there was a note through the door asking if I wanted to sell. The guy came round with his building society book to show me he could afford it. Another private sale.
I am going to visit my Mum later, I need to bake tonight. Busy going to the hospital tomorrow. It's my Birthday Tuesday and the Birthday person has to take cake to craft club.

The spoons in particular are very pleasing to use. I have cropped the company logo off the handle:13

Hi folks, I haven't been on this thread in a while. I got sick back in February I think and fell off the wagon energy and mental-wise. I'm trying to get this back on track again. Here are some (housework) wins:
Today & Yesterday:
#26 - stripped bed and am airing it for a new set of sheets later
#27 - set a new wash with the big duvet going
#28 - put new fat balls in the bird feeders. My cute birdie tv show is now restored ☺️
#29 - put away mountains of clean laundry
#30 - soaked / washed a new wool hat
#31 - Mr. Jings finally properly wired and put up ceiling lamp we've had lying around for 6 months
Past Couple Weeks
#32 - ate the BIG frog last week and got on the phone for an hour to set up a payment plan with HMRC
#33 - dropped off a jacket at the tailor for repair
We have some other household work planned for this week during a "staycation". Mostly front and back garden work. I'll also do a clothes drop to the British Heart Foundation as well. Sometime on Friday night I lay in bed realizing that "I just don't need those clothes anymore. I can just let them go." That'll be nice to reduce the congestion in my closets.16 -
@vulpix yes please to the leaving gazebo disco. We have a student disco at school on Thursday and I am very excited. Love a good dance, the kids can't wait. We even have a young person djing instead of the PE teacher! 😁
Have decluttered the ponginess from my wetsuit booties using white vinegar14 -
Been slowly working through the kids clothing lists and checking what fits/what they actually need etc. Means a few more bits have gone, which includes the kids stuff in the coat/shoe cupboard that remains an ongoing project. I'm currently trialing a single basket (repurposed from elsewhere in the house) to see if that works for the kids hats/gloves/sunglasses in the smallest bit of the cupboard. I've moved them there from the shoe shelves so they have more space for shoes.I'm still resisting buying any organising stuff for the cupboard until I've finished decluttering it. I usually consider buying containers as the last possible resort as the best solution is usually to get rid of enough that I don't need any, or at a pinch use something I've already got.Digital:
9 - emails deleted from permanent folders
1 - documents deleted from download folder
1 - notes deleted
Physical:
1 - packaging reused
1 - recipe card recycled
3 - kids clothes (charity box)
2 - kids sunglasses & case (Buy Nothing)
2 - DS tat recycledNew total = 5,688@2Scratters everything is already filed together, but DH just seems to think he still needs everything like 40 shirts for going to the office less than once a week etc. He does see me get rid of stuff all the time and does think the house is so much better (and I do moan about it once in a while). I'm hoping it'll eventually get through...2025 decluttering: 3,491🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅
