Had an offer from a first time buyer at lunchtime today who viewed it yesterday and I've accepted it.So DD and son-in-law and I will be going over to the IoW in the next week or so to house hunt .More serious decluttering ahead I think.
The best things about Cliftonville I remember is the fabulous Hotel that's a living museum, being a history nut, meant that looking around it and going up to see the rooms and artefacts stored here and there in the hotel is fantastic
They do a pretty good afternoon tea there as well. The ballroom in the basement area is like stepping back to the 1930s in decor, well worth a visit if you're anywhere near . The old fashioned lift is worth a ride in itself with its lattice work gates

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks + a weekly Jettison Junk in January
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 9:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Didn’t really sleep last night - very restless so got up just after 06:00 & started on cleaning the bathroom - 20 minute stint then decided to have my first cuppa. So far one small bag of detritus from the bathroom & a small bag of detritus from the lr - nos 334 & 335 DH sent an email which I replied to before 08:00. I have done another 20 minutes in the bathroom & have had another drink & some toast. Followed by a 25 minute session in the bathroom. So far I have taken all the movable furniture out, dusted the ceiling - just the one cobweb, washed - the window & windowsill + the tiled shelving area, all the skirting & the door, the outside of the toilet & sink + pedestal, radiator cover & mopped the floor. The bits of furniture have also been cleaned. Once the floor is dry I will return to the bathroom cleaning. DH’s motorcycle jacket is out on the whirligig to finish drying. In between bathroom cleaning sessions I have dealt with yesterday’s post - all donation requests & all 3 to 4 months since I last made a donation. The sun has finally put in an appearance @ 11:00 Did some shredding & have emptied into a bin bag as bedding/food for the worms. Small amount of food + shredded paper put into each wormery. Emptied the buckets into the compost bins. Final stint in the bathroom was for 35 minutes. Bath, sink (even managed to get most of the limescale off the taps 🥳) & toilet have been scrubbed. Glass shelf under the bathroom cabinet has been washed. All the outside of the cabinet has been washed & the mirrored doors polished + the inside of the cabinet has been emptied, washed & items rearranged when returned + furniture returned. This has resulted in another small bag of detritus - plastic caps, manky cleaning cloths etc - no. 336 + magazine recycled no. 337. In between bathroom cleaning I have been knitting.
Wow you have been busy dND 🤩 Excellent work - lots of decluttering & emptying of boxes 👏 Well done on taking your time & deciding to dispose of items as ethically as possible 🥳 Yes it will take longer but you will be happier 😊 As an encouragement to keep going (not that you need it 😉) I am awarding you a Gold Star ⭐️ Very pleased to hear that you are going to try & take it a little bit easier 😊 I did love “Turns out my body isn’t as young as my brain thinks it is. 😱🤣”
Broke off to have lunch - I fried the last of the risotto 🤤 Looking ahead at the posts that mention Cliftonville - will estate agents never learn 😔 Perhaps we ought to start recording their sales pitch & then take them to court 😂
Florenceem, another very busy day 👏 What an impressive amount of money raised to continue the good work of the SA 🤩 I was looking at your signature & can see that you have already decluttered 1277/2024 so I am sending two Gold Stars ⭐️⭐️
Excellent decluttering Pennypincin 👏 & good luck with your listings 🍀
Florenceem, ouch to both the inconvenience & the cost of getting rid of squirrels & rats 😫
Wednesday2000 sounds like Cliftonville is Definitely NOT the place to move to 😥 & I see carolbee agrees 😉
Wednesday2000, Margate Old Town has such a nice ‘ring’ to it 😊
Liverpool_Anne, a busy Saturday & you found time to watch a bit of football 👏 Hope the tea did the trick with the headache 🤞More great cheerleading 😊 The boaters are definitely having a better day - DH sent a picture - see below
Crazycatlady2, a win/win/win - DD is safe at home, she is earning money & you are devoting time to other things (pleasant ones I hope 😉) 😊
Brie, you should be very proud that you needed to buy new bed linen 🥲 Means you didn’t keep any Justins or Maybes 👏 Good luck with the search for a 2024 calendar.
Welcome aboard the EDT elly68 👋 No such thing as being late to the Decluttering Party 😊 Good luck with your March challenge & I am looking forward to following your progress 😊
Florenceem, 3 months in Australia 🤩
London_1 , great news that you have an offer on your house 😊 Fingers crossed the weather is dry & your house hunting on the IoW is successful 🤞
One of the reasons it has taken so long to post is that I had an hour long nap this afternoon. DH’s motorcycle jacket wasn’t quite dry so is hung over the back of a chair & as it is rather chilly I have put the heating on for a while 🤞
Hope everyone has had a good day 😊

Some light decluttering today, bought a swimming book that I just didn't care for so I rehomed it to a swimming friend who did so I'm pleased about that. Then I bought a book that serves my purposes better. The two long sleeved swimsuits have both been decluttered back to the retailers for refunds. So will keep looking for one.
House goes live with estate agent tomorrow so off we go! Very pleased to hear of your progress @London117 -
Wednesday that puppy is gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!
it was my jab weekend this weekend and I have slept and slept…….usually if I sleep too much during the day I’m awake through the night.
I did get up today and had a very long and hot shower, changed the bed, did the last bit of resin for 2 toadstools that were commissioned (get me!!!!!) ate, drank tea, wondered round the garden and watched tv.
I also taught hubby how to fill my medication tablet thing….he was a bit shocked at how much I’m on!Gave the dogs a good brush while watching tv and am now back in bed.
Work tomorrow but will be taking it steady with lots of breaks.

I’ve been ff the thread for a while but the decluttering has continued! The whole spare room is now a bedroom, and where the mess relocated to is also 90% decluttered! Every 2 weeks since Jan all my bin have been full of the absolute rubbish/worn out/broken bits I came get my hands on in this house and so many bags to the charity shop. I’m feeling so so sooooo much more in control of this house. Still the rest of the bits in the hallway to sort/ the utility room next and then the garden. But on the whole… tat is gone, charity shop bags are prevalent and I feel so SO SO much better for the decluttering! It’s definitely a mindset now. A great one!

Just popping in as I've been out all day at a museum with DH and the kids. The kids are shattered!Couldn't leave the day without doing anything though, so as soon as the kids were in bed, I had a quick look into the cupboard under the stairs. The cupboard doesn't work for us as it makes it really hard for me to put my shoes away and so means I don't. We may need to re-work the storage, but before I even think about that, I want to clear out a huge amount of stuff in there and get it down to the minimum that I can. As I am generally going for the minimum on all this stuff, it does mean the decluttering is harder and slower and usually means I have to get DH involved a bit more. Every time I suggest getting rid of something, I can see the fear in his face! Hoping to clear about half of the stuff in there originally, but I think that's a bit ambitious. Will just see where I can get to.Anyway, did manage to get rid of a tiny bit more and have lots more to consider in there. It's difficult when I am keeping old stuff of DS's for DD as there is a large age gap and so I end up with a fair bit of pending stuff. I have a whole box of wellies...Digital:New total = 5,306
6 - emails deleted from permanent folders
Physical:
12 - DS paperwork recycled
4 - wellies/shoes kept just in case for kids (charity/donated to nursery)
2 - welly socks (charity box)

Mrs sd, I never bother washing my cobwebs. Well done you! (Great photo from the barge.)
Hugs to all, especially that gorgeous puppy.

cheers chums all being well we are going over to the IoW on 11th March for a week of house hunting , we have seen a couple online we like the look of one in Ryde, and another in Bembridge so DD will try to get us some viewings booked before we go.
I think she so excited as its getting closer to us going, fingers crossed we can get things moving, my potential buyers are first time buyers with no chain which is useful, and her buyer aiso under offer with a first time buyer as well so hopefully it will slot into place.
DD will sort things out for me as its what she's done for a living for the past 15 years, even though we are not going through her EA's office, as she wanted to keep it separate from her workplace so no conflict of interest.
She is surprised I'm not as buzzed as she is,but I am pleased, but also have a lot more patience than she has , it will happen in due course and as my late Mum would say 'What's for you lassie will no go by you' a very sensible feisty wee Scot was my Mum, she also had a deal of patience
probably where I get it from.
We had a lovely dinner at DDs tonight, one of my son-in-laws specialities Moroccan Lamb with all the trimmings, its our favourite.
off to bed now to read my book and plan all the stuff I have to get done in the next probable three months . definitely eating down my freezer and food stocks indoors
Night, night, God bless all here,
JackieO xx
