@QueenJess I spoke to a fireman about washing machines catching fire and he said it used to be a problem but it doesn't tend to happen with modern washing machines, though it might be worth a phone call to the local fire brigade, I am sure they won't mind, if it puts your mind at rest. I think it's part of their job now to do things like that, they even visit people to fit smoke detectors etc.Did a ton of tidying and accidentally discovered a pile of things in DH's room where he was meant to deal with things and hadn't. So gone through those, checked with DH/DS and got lots more things ejected. I'm still on the lookout today for more stuff to go whilst getting the place tidy (fully expect I won't be getting much done in the week next week at my first full week at work).Digital:

Decluttering is definitely getting harder and the kitchen is still a hot spot, but I can't quite bring myself to deal with it just yet. I did get DH to agree to get rid of some very ancient tea he won't ever get round to using, but he won't get rid of the container just in case.... so I am still working on that one. Sick of seeing it in the cupboard!Got two weeks until my parents next visit and 3 weeks until DD's birthday, so there is a need to continue to declutter before others re-clutter my house for me..Edit: @vulpix that looks so clean and organised... you're making me feel bad that I am currently ignoring my kitchen!2025 decluttering: 3,452🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

The hob and glass of the cooker has been steamed. The hob has come up very well. The glass will need another go (or a professional) but it’s much better than it was. This is going to need to be tackled in stages as my steamer is good but only takes 250ml water at a go!

Hello fellow declutterers. When I was having a lie in after several nights of broken sleep this week DH decided to help by emptying the dw and in doing so collapsed the crockery shelf in the kitchen cupboard ! Not his fault and it could have happened at anytime apparently 😏 but I am now minus a new dinner plate and a small china milk jug. I didn't hear a thing, not even the big crash ! He did redeem himself by ordering 2 new s/s jugs online but when they arrived they are too small and could only be made useful as earrings 😂
He has to take on looking after me and doing housework things for a few weeks after my op so I may not have a house afterwards 🤣 He's a pretty good cook and has mastered the magic workings of the wm already 👏 so I may decide to keep him a little longer !
Yesterday I decluttered some extra cash filling up the freezer and today more money on a haircut, at least now I look less like Worzel Gummidge. My emails have been cleared and I have unsubscribed from one retailer as they are stopping their loyalty service.
Vulpix lovely kitchen, wish mine looked like that.
Florenceem you make me envious of your garden, it's so clean and tidy.
MrsSD love the scarf and the apple pies, hope you made enough for the TLC carriage too, they'll go down a storm 🤤
Take care all, hugs to anyone in need. I will be MIA for a while so be good and keep on decluttering !

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks + a weekly Jettison Junk in January
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 9:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Good afternoon from a currently sunny but chilly IofD 👋 A wasted day so far as I woke up about 07:30 feeling cold so put a blanket on the bed & woke up at 14:05 🙊 Listened to messages from DH - very poor signal. Also managed to chat to DH briefly & he advised package on the doorstep. I then sent him an email which he will hopefully receive 🤞 Currently the intrepid travellers are not really enjoying themselves - even more rain & cold + their food supplies have run low & they need a new gas bottle soon 😔 Hopefully they will soon be somewhere near both a pub & a shop 🤞 As for me, good news - the recycling wheelie bin has finally been emptied 🥳 I have replied to an email I received last night from DH’s niece S. The dried flowers which I have been procrastinating about binning have been binned & DH’s summer motorcycle jacket is finally in the wm 👏 It has only been on my To Do list for 4 months 😧 Once washed I will re-proof & then either be brave & hang it out or put old towels down on the kitchen floor & put on the airer 🤔 Will probably not get much else done today apart from catching up on the cheerleading 😉 As Scarlett said “After all, tomorrow is another day”

Liverpool_Anne, how cheeky of the roofer boss 🤨 The job might have been done but not exactly trouble free 🤔 Hope the union visit went well & that your B12 jab has set you on the road to having lots of energy 🤞Shame about the funeral but hopefully Siebrie’s suggestion is an option 🤞
QueenJess, yippee to the delayed timer on the wm & an even bigger yippee that DH put the washing on the line 🥳 Excellent decluttering 👏 your 🥇 is in sight 🙂 Although it sounds like your new job is tiring, it also sounds like you are enjoying it 😊
Great suggestion Siebrie 👏
2Scratters, helping out at your parents new house will hopefully give you ideas for your own decluttering 😉 Like you I am definitely SABLE - in notebooks at least 🙂
Brie, what a lovely thing to do 😇
short_bird, I absolutely adore this - “doom bag" (doom stands for "Didn't Organise, Only Moved") - brilliant 🤩 I have heaven only knows how many doom bags & boxes - mainly from France & that is coming up for 6 years 😬 I have read a bit of the recommended article - very interesting 🙂 & have bookmarked it for later. Excellent decluttering 👏
Lovely to see you Florenceem 😊 but so very sorry to hear about both DD & DH 😔 Hopefully the GP can help your DD or at least refer her to an appropriate medical professional 🙏 Such an empathetic post from daisy_1571. Sending lots of positive thoughts that now MrF has closed his business, he can concentrate on recovering completely & once he is more mobile, hopefully he can explore other ways of getting his sparkle back 🙏 Please, please take care of yourself 🙏
Lovely post daisy_1571 😊
Florenceem, the builders have done a great job in your back garden 👏 As you say, much safer for MrF & hopefully he can practise his walking & build up his strength 🤞
Lovely post florianatwobob 😊
One page caught up, so a perfect time to have something to eat 😉 I have decided to fry up a small portion of the risotto. Back soon 👋

hello lovelies, Just been catching up,@Florenceem ~ so lovely to see you on here. Sorry to hear about Mr F and your daughter. Your garden looks amazing, so flat, will be much better for Mr F and will be lovely with a table and chairs and a few colourful plants in pots@vulpix ~ your kitchen looks absolutely fabulous, you must be very happy with it.@QueenJess ~ so pleased that you finally decluttered you job, good luck for the new one.@MrsSD ~ think if I was you I would be rather pleased I wasnt on the boat getting soaked! They have certainly picked up some wet weather!! Hope your feeling betterNot been up to much decluttering. DH decluttered the vitreous fluid from his eye (under aneathestic!!) and is now beginning to be able to see out that eye ~ hurrah!!The hedging has begun, we still have lots to remove, but nearly finished the main boundary boarder and so yesterday and this morning I have been planting and boy it is a wet soggy mess. Not ideal for planting at all. But the hedging has arrived and being bare roots it needs to go in pretty quickly, But, boy was I a muddy mess!! I have a photo, but really it just looks like brown sticks!!Have a lovely eveningflowers x♥️ ♥️ ♥️🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸Decluttering 2025 So far 403 / 2025

DS2 did homemade burgers for tea which were very nice. I went for a wander round Asda and I did buy a towel and pillowcases for DS2 and a second duvet cover for DGD4. They were actually needed. I also bought ant traps and spray as they were walking round my kitchen this morning. The joys of sandy soil.2025 Decluttering Campaign 635/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟
