I'm so shattered!
Big decluttering day today. We had no choice but to go through the cellar and bedroom this time and try to remove as much clutter as possible.
There's a huge pile of stuff waiting by the back door to go to the recycling centre and charity shop, but so far today we have managed to remove the following from the house:4 coats
3 handbags
1 jute tote
1 pvc tote
5 t-shirts
5 dresses
1 hoody
1 clothes steamer
2 packs underlay
2 packs laminate
1 office chair
1 box of 90s makeup - so brown! There had to be 30 separate items in there!
Hence I'm adding 56 items to the total. It will be hundreds next week!
Keep reading books!
July grocery challenge START: £150.

I should count too about 20 items I shredded/recycled.

Feel full of energy today -had a bad weekend of sleep and it was very very hectic with the dc, must be the sunshine that is giving me my get up and go instead - I have got to go to the craft shop as 2nd dd spent most of yesterday evening pleading that she wants to desperately go as a lion for world book day 😯... luckily she is a cutie because she had changed her mind from her outfit that was already constructed . Thankfully eldest dds costume is made/collected from normal clothes... and I have found a tutorial from the craft shop and all I need is 10xfelt and some yellow wool, my trusty glue gun and a tiny amount of sewing with my sewing machine. So tonight's task is to make a lions mane and tail. Today I feel like having a mass clearout in the bedrooms and bathroom and am going to keep a few bits aside for v!nted but the rest to the cs around my area.
We are hoping to move house next year to a 4 bed (dc can have a room each, in a bid to future proof as much as possible in case they are living with us as adults due to house prices/rent prices) and I want to take as few things as possible. Our fixed term ends next August so that means all being well we could try putting our house on the market next Easter. A mountain of obstacles and clutter to climb and every chance it won't happen next year but I am hopeful.
So I have approx a year.... 😬 but what a year it will be !2024 decluttering Campaign

Well the rest of Sunday was a washout. Watched a bit of TV, did a bit of knitting & made a sandwich with the last of the Serrano Ham for my dinner. Then put on the semi-final of The Great Pottery Throwdown & fell asleep halfway through 😔 Some 2.5 hours later I woke up, watched the rest of TGPT & went to bed. I was asleep within 10 minutes 🥳
Monday is a bright sunny day & temperatures are set to reach 11C 🥳 I was awake just before 09:00 & rather than going straight downstairs I started cleaning my bedroom 😉 Dusted for cobwebs - just the one 🙂 then dusted the rest of the furniture & the skirting boards; washed down the window frames & sill + the radiator cover & lastly I cleaned the windows 👏 Half an hour later I was downstairs loading the wm & making my 1st cuppa. Last night I remembered to take the 2-step folding ladder upstairs to retrieve the spare bathroom floor mat from the airing cupboard. The finishing touch for that room 🥳 The step ladder is back downstairs & I am enjoying my tea. When I go back upstairs I will vacuum our bedroom, the hallway & any bits of empty carpet in DSis’s room, DH’s office & the Room of Doom. Once that is done I will start on the downstairs. As DH’s motorcycle jacket is now dry, I will put the armour back in & hang up in the under-stairs cupboard (as a surprise for DH 😌)
Florafauna, sounds like a lovely Sunday 😊 How exciting that your house is now in the market 🙂 Fingers crossed for a quick sale 🤞
Muddy_Walker, hopefully sleeping so much will encourage your B12 jab to work quicker than it usually does 🤞Please take it easy today & get as many breaks as possible 🙏 Fame at last - commissions for your resin toadstools 👏🥳
Lovely to see you BudgetingBelinda 👋 You have been busy & it sounds like you are reaping the benefits 😊 - more in control, new habits firmly ingrained, happier in your newly decluttered home & ready to complete the last of the decluttering 👏🥳 You are an inspiration ☺️
I am going to post this now as the wm has finished! P.S. DH sent a pic of him steering the boat & I actually replied within 20 minutes 😊

Realised this morning that there were still shoes/wellies that I left in the box that are highly unlikely we will ever use. No point in keeping them for 4 years for DD if I don't think she'll ever wear them. Managed to clear out more than 50% of the box, so just need to tackle some more of the cupboard.Digital:New total = 5,328
15 - emails deleted from permanent folders
Physical:
6 - wellies/shows being kept for DD, but very unlikely she will like and wear them (charity bag)

Hi all, I slept for England last night and feel better for it
. I am listening to the radio talking about the anniversary of the miners strike, a long time ago but some communities have still not recovered from the pit closures.
Yesterday we went to OH's house to try to sort an electrical problem. So I was up and down ladders to get to the fuse box and up and down stairs and more ladders changing light bulbs, OH's knees have problems with ladders and stairs. Unfortunately we were not able to sort it so now we have to get an electrician to look at it, sigh. It is on my list. While we were there when OH was checking the post I tackled the front garden. 2 bags of rubbish, dead leaves and weeds into various bins. On the way home we decided to treat ourselves to a coffee and got sidetracked into a large branch of h0mebargain where we bought easter related crafts for the children in Germany and the baby. For people who like to decorate for Easter there was loads of lovely things however we just got craft stuff that can be easily posted along with some other things including mini eggs. Both of the German children love craft stuff and Mum appreciates an activity based gift rather than just chocolate so win win
. When we got home the gifts were wrapped using paper, bubble wrap and a box from my stash and will be posted today. Win win. I also emptied the bedroom recycling which was overflowing after the bag of doom sort out
. I spoke to my friend about her Mum's funeral and explained what had happened and she agreed it was best I didn't go so she will be sending the link to watch it on the internet. We also had a good chat about how she and her sisters are coping with it all. They are doing ok and along with the feelings of loss are very grateful to have had her for so long as she was nearly 95. My friend is going to tell some funny stories about her at the funeral such as the time she took her for a holiday to Gibraltar and one of the apes stole her spare knickers out of her handbag and ran off with them to decorate an unreachable tree branch
. Her Mum also left them a sealed letter to be opened after her death which they are going to read at the funeral. I am sure I will be crying my eyes out as she was a lovely lady who was up for a laugh whenever we saw her. After that call I phoned my sister who said they were watching tv and could I call back another time
. Well that put me in my place, call the midwife is higher priority obviously
OH has a phone appointment with the practice nurse today and I have a chiropodist appointment but the sun is out again so I will try to get a bit more into the green waste bin before I head off as it is collected early tomorrow.
I have caught up with all the posts but my brain is full of wool so sorry if I have missed something
@London_1, great news on the offer, I am excited for you
@Mrs SD so glad the boaters had a better day yesterday and today is looking good as well
Right off to do something. Hugs to everyone who would like one
328 & 329 rubbish from OH's front garden
330 Easter gifts sorted
331 Easter gifts wrapped and ready to post
332 call to friend
Take care everyone

Last time I wrote (29th Feb) I was be-moaning the fact that this year has got away from me... I really struggled that day but the next day, being the first day of a new month I decided to start some small actions in the right direction so I started journalling again, started drinking lots of water and I went to get a Vit D & B shot.
I've perked up a lot, brighter weather helps. I've not done any decluttering as such but have packed up previous decluttered items ready to take to CS, Had a good tidy up and did some digital decluttering - about 1400 emails from one of my work email accounts. Deleted an email from 2020 telling me to change my email signature banner. Never did and not much point bothering now
I'm off today and have spent the morning tidying and catching up on messages / life admin. My big mission for today day is to go back to the gym - even if its only for half an hour - I've not been for months so its a question of getting back on the horse to start with.
Tasks:
Made vet, hair, eyebrow wax and dentist appointments

The plan to look around Margate didn't go well as I developed a cold and had a sore throat. This seems to happen to me every time I go into London by public transport now. We drove around a bit as I didn't feel like being out in the cold and Margate didn't seem all that nice just from first impressions. I don't know if my brother is influencing me as he really doesn't like Margate as he has been on a night out there a few times and didn't take to the place at all.
When I got home I had a brainwave to watch one of those walking videos on YouTube and the man was walking around Margate on a sunny day and it did look much nicer. I saw where the Old Town was too as we didn't drive past that bit. I googled and that Walpole hotel does look quite cool. My cousin was saying her stepfather has an Airbnb in central Margate that we can stay at so when we get there in July for the concert we can look around on foot.
I haven't done much today apart from pick up my prescription and my pets were delivered home. It is quite nice and sunny here today, strangely.
I'm not sure what to declutter next as looking around my house nothing is leaping out at me!
