Last night I told DS and DH to go through DS's piles of activity books, things to colour etc and get them more organised and fitting in. No idea what happened, but DH said DS didn't want to get rid of anything and when I asked DS whether he liked decluttering with daddy he made a face at me. So basically if you want something done, do it yourself. I went through it with DS and it was fine. It is pretty full, but organised, he can find stuff and has remembered he has a number of things to work on. It's not rocket science...Not done anything else as done loads of work all day (only 5 days of work left!!!!) and got my eyes tested. Need new glasses, but tried all the frames in VE and there were only 2 that fitted. I hated them both as they looked awful. I then went into Specsavers which was weirdly buzzing with people and found a few more. Only about 5-6 options there really, but I hated those as well as they looked terrible. I tried them on multiple times to see if I could find a pair I hated less than the others and could live with. Nope. Ran out of time, so came home again. Might try Boots next as I have to find something!Very much behind on the tidying and still feel like there are lots of little decluttering areas that need tackling. Not sure which one I will pick next yet. Maybe I'll finish sorting the stuff in the garage. Right now I have my feet up ready to eat a slice of lemon tart whilst doing my puzzle book that's actually almost finished (so I can do the other at least 3 I have lying around!).1 - packaging reused

My makeshift lunch was surprisingly tasty 🙂 I have been gone a bit longer than intended as I decided to mend the cuffs on DSis’s top 😉 It was easier this time as not only was the fabric not as thick but I knew exactly what I was doing 😊 even the inside stitching is neat 😉
DH sent another email (phone signal is appalling) - DSis is spending a 3rd night in hospital 😔 no details though.
TC77, maybe you should open a stationery shop 😉 Some great decluttering 👏 & hopefully all the large items were picked up today & the boiler was repaired 🤞Your numbers are moving along very nicely 😊
Liverpool_Anne, very pleased to hear that it was the glasses causing problems 😮💨 Fingers crossed that the ACAS thing will be resolved quite quickly now that it is moving again 🤞I think you should reward yourself for your successful decluttering by finally getting a new laptop 😊 especially as you have been ‘thinking’ about it for a while 😊
Moorviews, thank you for your kind wishes 🥹 DH just phoned & advised that DSis is being moved again - to the exact same ward as he was in last year 😉 The doctor has seen her again & is keeping her in until the stubborn lung infection has completely cleared. DSis is now resigned rather than happy but at least it means she will start relaxing & hopefully recover more quickly 🤞I am very lucky to have found MrSD & you are so right he is a 💎 I am very pleased to hear that you are making full use of the TLC Carriage 😊 & it is working as you are still managing to declutter as well 👏
Lovely post Florafauna 😊 It sounds like grey is the new ‘magnolia’ which was the recommended colour many, many moons ago 😂
London_1, lovely house in what looks like a lovely leafy area. A decent sized garden as well so should sell quickly 🙏 There can’t be much left to declutter although am pleased to hear that DGS Ben will be around to do any heavy lifting if a Tip run is needed 👏 Like you I am definitely not a minimalistic sort of person 😉 Although I am more an ornaments person than photographs 😅 due to a rather unfortunate series of events when I used to have wedding photos up on a wall & all three marriages ended in divorce 😬
carolbee, another of our Declutterati family potentially on the move 😉 There must be something in the water 🙂
DH got back about 20:00 & I dished up dinner within 10 minutes. Sausages, mash & beans - it was going to be DSis’s welcome home dinner so I will need to replenish the freezer with sausages 😉 DSis has given DH the day off from visiting tomorrow as she now has a book & magazines to keep her occupied. She has also given me permission to stay away as she thinks I have probably had enough of hospital visiting especially as she will be on the same ward as DH was last year 😥 DH has just received a text - DSis is still in her cupboard 😔
I have decided to post this & come back later after doing the wudupa

Got the wrong day for pick up and not around tomorrow so.now Monday. Off work so mainly chores but dd1 who was super stressed about her final year work manged to speak to tutor and others and wanted me to listen, good to see her sorting things out herself, I did some email frogs, sold my first item on vinted so Will post and add nos tomorrow. Unused insole out - had disintegrated, did wash and boiler service went fine, and chiropodist so feet feel better
Some paper out.
Exaggerated maybe the geometry stuff left as I did take some things to the bank of things but @flamingo747 as I tidy I will see if I can gather some things but will also look out where I bought supplies it was an education place.ajd remember 10 protractor were cheaper than 2 in the shops. Dd2 used to get through several biro type pens a week ( different colours).so.i bought those packs of 20 or 40!
Abit of paper declutter so 288.
@ilovetea reminded me my lentils must be years old. I've been using up stores and found some weetabix type cereal must be from.lockdown and tasted fine.
Very impressed with the sewing Mrs SD.
Sorry not caught up fully18 -
Hi all, quite a lazy day today. I was full of good intentions but they didn't happen
. I have put a load of washing through the machine and 4 LDFPA and went into ln for a coffee and catch up. She asked if we wanted the plastic sweet tin back OH had used to put her christmas cake in. Unfortunately OH said yes. I said you must find somewhere to store it if you are keeping it until next christmas. Yes, yes and guess where it is, bingo on the kitchen worktop. I will broach it again tomorrow and if no suggestion is forthcoming I will put it in a plastic bag in the loft where it will probably live for a couple of years until I get to sort it out
.
I heard from a friend I have had since school that her dMum is passing away. The family are with her except 1 daughter who is travelling back from France. She is in her 90s and has been fragile for a while but it is still a sad day. We have had several holidays with her over the years and many happy memories.
Did some more work on the ACAS thing and it might be finished soon. After tea did some knitting
@Wednesday2000 I had to google that, sounds very painful hugs
@dND so sorry your move has been delayed again. I suppose that is one of the problems of dealing with multiple sellers but you would have thought they would have got themselves better organised by now, hugs
@Mrs SD, sorry your dsis is still in hospital but it is probably for the best as she must have been quite ill to have been admitted in the first place and hopefully will be on her way home soon, hugs. Impressive sewing skills again
@QueenJess I feel your pain re glasses. I must admit I don't even book an eye test until I have found frames I like. My current pair took me a year to find after several visits to the chain opticians I found them in a small independent opticians. Hugs
Footy tomorrow so probably won't get much done but we live in hope. Off to bed now so hugs to anybody who would like one

GrannyKate, pleased to hear that the trip to Sheffield was a success 😊 Your grandchildren are very lucky to have you to drive them about 🍀 As you say, an experience that money cannot buy 🥳
Lovely post vulpix 😊 Good luck with your project - I think that 50 y.o. blankets might be the oldest items to be reworked/repurposed 😉
Good luck with your tech pile wishus 🍀
Wednesday2000, sorry to hear that you have been in pain from last weekend through to Wednesday but how fortuitous that your decision to try some stretching exercises + the reflexology session has led to you starting to recover 😊 Wishing you every success with your new decluttering task 😊
Oh for heavens sake 😠😔 So sorry to hear that the exchange & completion didn’t take place today, dND 😥 The Japanese style sleep pods all come with plenty of blankets & and a tea trolley comes by regularly 😉
Dfw38, really interesting information & I think you should definitely write a book 😉 So pleased to hear that DD1 had a better day today 😊 Also so pleased that you & DD are finally getting the support you both deserve 🥹
Excellent decluttering Florafauna 👏 I was especially intrigued by the whittling book & set of knives 🧐 Were you the whittler?
GrannyKate, I think that particular conveyancing story should definitely be included in Dfw38’s book 😉 Excellent tidying work 👏
dND fingers & everything else crossed that it is just a minor glitch 🤞& that Monday will see you with the keys safely in hand 🙏
I am now only a page behind so will post & resume tomorrow. Sleep tight everyone 🛌

Good Morning chums ,had a call from EA's, a chap wants to come to view at 09.15 this morning ! ! ! and I've also got some first time buyers on Tuesday afternoon. Living in the south east there is such a shortage of available housing locally.
I looked on the net and only 6 houses have sold in my road in 10 years ,people seem to buy and settle I have been here since 1995. DDs house sold very quickly as well .
The commute to London isn't too bad so get a lot of people who want to move down to the Medway area. I must admit its going along quite quickly.
Ben, Henry and Jack are all home this weekend, and we have a big family dinner on Sunday. Ben will pop round later today to check on my garden ,because of moving I said it wasn't worth planting potatoes this spring, so he planted masses of bulbs instead, and they are all coming up nicely at the moment
He really has got the gardening bug .He said to make sure there is a plot for him at our new house on the IoW so he can get some veg inApparently he is going out with a pretty young med. student at the moment and enjoying life.
Both Ben & Henry are off to Marrakesh on Thursday for a long weekend to get some sun, I'm pleased for them as brothers they get on quite well together, just as well really as they house share in London
Mikey is coming home on Tuesday from Uni for several days so I'll see him then. They were all sad they couldn't get home for my birthday but when its midweek they have jobs and Uni so I said not to worry we will soon catch ups.
I'd better get a wriggle on, I shall pop round to DDs when the EA is due as I am leaving it to him to do the viewing as its his jobson-in-law Simon does a nice cuppa as well
I also have a bag of stuff for the CS to drop off as well
