Thank you Mrs SD, Vulpix and florafauna eldest dd was in such a state about going we stayed home. Just not worth it, we did some home learning instead- covered some science and anglo saxon history and the 6 and 7 times tables. Eldest Dd is a lot more confident this evening with the subjects we covered so it was worth staying home purely for that. She has had a nice relaxing bath (as have all 3 dc) and I can hear her currently giggling with 2nd dd so hopefully a better night's sleep for all and an easier start to the day for her as well.
No decluttering done today - just wasn't time but whereas I would find myself annoyed and frustrated a year ago, now I just shrug my shoulders and accept it. It will all be cleared eventually, ds starts nursery in September for 3 x 4hr sessions a week. This only works out at 2 hours child free as I have to pick up both dds 2 hours after dropping ds off. So I plan to use 1 session to declutter, another to do the pesky food shop for the week and the final one as time for me. I won't have been without a child around me for 9 years on September so I am sure I can crack out a lot more then.
One thing I did manage was a call to the dwp and they have said the case has been sent to the decision maker so I should hopefully hear in the next few weeks. Won't be sorry to get that finished.2024 decluttering Campaign

@Dfw38 I think that's a really good plan for your child-free sessions - especially doing the food shop & having some me-time. You will all benefit from it.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Thank you, @daisy_1571 and @mrssd for your kind thoughts about DH’s foot. Good news. The foot has knitted and-is”solide”, but DH is very wary of” hurting it “. We are so relieved.
My DSis has the same medical conditions as your DSis, Mrs SD, and chest infections cause her serious problems . I hope that she is back home and has good medication and feeling more like herself. @EnergyShifter, I have just bought one of those cardigans- from White S…. I know we are declutterati but sometimes new clothes have to be bought. It is a bright pink one, again something that is hard to find in France. Yes, I need to introduce the French to scones.Totals

Mrs SD, I hope your DSis has been having good care and will be home soon, very worrying for all of you.
Happy birthday @QueenJess - was it you that mentioned a no of colouring books... not to worry anyone but when I've tidied I may post a pic of assorted pens etc. I think between DD2 and me we must have , I wanted to say 400 pens but just looking at the 2 containers on the dining room table which must have close to 100 could be 800 + pens, pencils, highlighters etc, if we add rulers, compasses ( I think 7 or 8 and not sure they're ever used after GCSE), could be in 4 figures. I remember as both DDs lose things buying from education supplier a dozen protractors - did pass those on to the bank of things - although kept 1 or 2 just in case! Also have french curves, dividers and I think a couple of set squares....
I have thrown out a lever arch file,a hairbrush that lost most of its protective bits for the bristles, and quite alot of small bits of paper etc.
And of course a good selection of paperclips, bull dog clips and fold back clips, assorted paper knives. I am at least putting things together and have a box in a desk drawer for receipts so I don't get sidetracked by looking at one thing at a tie but can try and at least get like with like.
Off work tomorrow and hoping big storage being picked up by charity, boiler being serviced and hopefully can drop some things off, someone also interested in a little bureau I want to pass on. We shall see ...
Take care everyone and hugs and healing vibes to those not so well.

Hi all, good day today. It was snowing when I ventured out for my eye test, lovely big flakes but it didn't settle as the ground was wet. Good news in the opticians as my prescription has only changed slightly and most of the problems I was experiencing seem to stem from the fact that the reactor light coating I have on my current pair is breaking down and causing distortions. I did fear I might have a cataract but no eyes are healthy, the glasses are not
. Did a small shop to pick up things we didn't get on Monday from a different sm and finally managed to get to the pharmacy for some eye gel to relieve my itchy dry eyes
I spent quite a bit of time sorting out the ACAS thing which has started moving again after the Christmas break and while I was on the laptop I tackled my emails, 300 deleted. Annoyingly the email site has been revamped and it doesn't like my very old operating system much so it's taking a bit longer to deal with. Another reason to look for a new laptop. I keep saying it and doing nowt about it
. I have also ordered my meds
I haven't caught up yet as I am falling asleep and wanted to post numbers but I will try to do it before I doze off. Hugs to everyone who would like one
238 eye test done and new glasses ordered
239 eye gel got
240 meds ordered

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks + a weekly Jettison Junk in January
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 9:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
I sorted out a bit of paperwork & cleared some more recorded programmes. No further phone calls from DH & 17:00 came & went but I waited until 19:00 to phone DH - he was on his way home. My DSis has to stay in the hospital for at least one more night. DSis expressed her frustration & anger at the situation so DH asked the doctor for a bit of time to talk to her & let her have a good cry. Once calm the doctor explained that the antibiotics hadn’t worked as well as they had hoped - so DSis still has a lung infection + her sats were still too low. She is now resigned to the situation & gave DH a list of items she wanted brought to the hospital tomorrow. DSis then had a long chat about her son so DH is fully up to speed on the situation. DSis is now on a ward & has a bed 😉 DH got home 20:15 & we had fish fingers, chips & beans for dinner. Wudupa.
219 - 229 Kitchen recycling, 7 magazines, drinks cans, cardboard box, glass jar - recycled
230 - 231 Kitchen & DSis bedroom detritus - binned
Crazycatlady2, hopefully now that my DSis has accepted that she needs another night in hospital she can concentrate on getting better 🤞😊 Having investigated the ‘crimpit’ I can see why you like it 😊
London_1, fingers crossed that now your house is on-line it will sell quickly & you can concentrate on finding your forever home on the IoW 😊
Florafauna, sadly not coming home today but she is being well looked after 🙂 Excellent decluttering 👏 I just wonder whatever happened to house buyers imaginations 😉
Just noticed the time so am off to bed & will catch up on the cheerleading tomorrow. Sleep tight everyone.

Just had a read to catch up on a few days news on here. Big hugs to your sister Mrs SD - she really is having such an ordeal there 💐 and it must be very worrying for you. You chose well with Mr SD; he seems to be an absolute gem 💎
Belated Happy Birthday wishes 🥳🎂 to JackieO and Queen Jess. It’s very exciting reading about the various preparations for house sales and purchases. I am looking forward to hearing about the new homes in due course. I wish everyone lots of good luck in the process!I have been combining being in the TLC carriage and going out to do the things that have to be done. Otherwise, occasional things are being popped into the charity bag and there has been a bit of a round up to get everything out for the bin day. I should have a little more time next week to get things done at home.Well done to all the declutterati for keeping on keeping on - you are all tremendously inspiring people 👏16 -
Morning all, back to work as all snow has gone so may do a little decluttering this evening.
@mrssaladdodger know what you mean about housebuyers imagination! However, we have an older house and EA said people are happy with quirks eg not everything looking perfect (which is good!). When we sold our last house, EA suggested we repaint all interiors grey to get top price which I did and it did go for v good price. Not my thing but many love a neutral space.
Anyhow sorry for wanging on about houses! @dfw87 hope your daughter slept well. I work in a school so understand your concern somewhat as we work with families in your position.
Have a good day everyone15
