Crazy cat lady,no doubt there will be an Easter sale by which time you will have worn him down.hahaha.
My wardrobe sort yielded less than Mr V. A lot of my clothes are presently too small and they may fit again by summer, and a lot are fancy cruise stuff. I don't wear it often but that OTT stuff doesn't really date too much. I do sew but the dress that went this after noon was beaded. Too much work to alter. I wouldn't buy new again for evening wear, you can pick it up second hand with minimal wear. When dry there will be another bag for charity tomorrow. A fleece top, a sweatshirt and other things I can't recall. For fabric recycling 8 fabric face masks. Also for tomorrow a bag of soft plastics and a bag of clothes hangers.
Tonight we had home made lentil burgers, Mr V got the box out of the freezer thinking it was one of his cottage pies. Some small spaces are emerging in the freezer and food cupboard. The cupboard under the sink seems to have a bit of space too.
I feel like today has been productive. I also hung a picture and delivered a condolence card to an ex colleague.
Some ins. 3 kallax doors bought from fb for Mr V's shed and a new strap for Mr V's fit bit.
I expect there will be fewer outs next month and hopefully fewer ins too.
I am home alone tomorrow , I will make some tote bags with material from stash.
Take care all. Vx

@Moorviews and @foxandflowers thank you.
I have folders scattered around with so many other things. Couldn't find my work bag with laptop.and thought if I were to report it stolen the police would come round and question either how on earth do I know if anything is missing or exclaim what a mess the burglars have left things in. This happened to a good friend years ago when they had something stolen and the police said how upsetting it must be that the place had been left in such a mess! Apparently they'd taken one thing and not touched anything else!
Anyway after a panic realised for some.bizarre reason I'd taken my work bag as well as gym back to pilates, not realised and wondered how someone had the same bag as me. Luckily after working out it was too big to hide under clutter t i thought maybe it was my bag at the gym. Definitely a senior moment or just too much going on.
I need some sleep.
New to me Ted Baker trousers to be passed on as for some reason the zip keeps falling down! - either faulty zip or my tummy:)
I try and keep up with everyone's journey when having a cuppa at work so can never quite remember what I wanted to reply to by the evening.
A reminder that the tlc carriage has a bottomless tea urn and endless supply of goodies!20 -
@vulpix you've reminded me, I have lots of clothes hangers - I need to sort those out and see if anyone wants them on Olio. Nowhere here recycles them, and when I've asked at charity shops they haven't wanted them either 😕
I'll keep some as I dry my work dresses on the line on hangers 😁Enjoying the power and freedom of letting things go.
Decluttering - January 2024 - 89 physical objects, over 700 emails/digital decluttering 🎊 🏅🏅16 -
@mehefin Your group accomplished a lot - moving books is very hard - I get worn out now after a couple of hours. You should post a picture when your library is ready to open.
@GrannyKate - I just spent the day helping my English friend with her research - all in Chesterfield! We finally were able to get the parish register to come up, and were able to find a lot more information in the original register. It was a lot of fun. It would be nice to be able to go and see the places someday.
For those of you reading Richard Osman, "Last Devil to Die" is currently on eBook and audiobook from the Anaheim Library (Anaheim.net/Library) in on-line resources. Don't know how long it will be there - they have been working their way through the series. You too can get a card there. Best part - it is free.
We have been without a landline phone for five days now - because of the big rain storm we had Sunday and Monday! Finally got it fixed, we think. Took two attempts. I was afraid we would have to replace the phones. We may still have to replace them so I am saving up for it. We are expecting a lot of storms over the next few weeks so I may have to get me a cell phone and not use my roommate's.
Been working in the library several days this week to clean up from the book sale last Friday. One of our volunteers counted the carts - I just kept pushing them out without counting. There were 60 total! Now we have to get it down to a smaller number by sorting some more books into the proper categories. Will be going back this weekend to do some more moving books around. Our next two sales will be indoors also. Then we hope the weather improves so we can move back outside on the "front porch" - more visibility but less space.
Other than that I spent several hours this week taking several people to doctor's appointments, read three books while waiting and when we got home, added 1500 names to my parish index in Excel, and did two sessions at the Anaheim FamilySearch Center and 1 session at the Orange FamilySearch Library (bigger - so they call it a Library). Decluttered over 40 items from the kitchen too.
I hope all of you survive the storms coming your way without any damage. Our weather report looks scary - we are stocking up so we don't have to go out much. Our car doesn't like wet weather as it is missing the under panel. Other than being a bit noisier inside the car, the missing under panel doesn't cause any problems according to our repairman. So we put up with it. Just try to avoid rain and puddles.17 -
1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks + a weekly Jettison Junk in January
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 9:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Dinner was delicious 😋 The ‘Beaver’ pie was actually beef with plenty of meat & gravy accompanied by mash, cabbage, carrots & dry fried mushrooms. Wudupa. DSis & I finally got around to watching Call The Midwife - we were in floods of tears 😭
152 - 153 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans - recycled
154 - 155 Kitchen & lr detritus - binned
QueenJess, the advantage of work being so busy is that the days should pass quickly 🤞 You must be getting excited now - only 12.5 work days left 😝 Excellent decluttering - physical, digital & financial frogs 👏 Good luck with the kitchen cupboards 🍀
Excellent decluttering GrannyKate 👏 Hopefully DGD4 will tidy away the bits & pieces from the table 🤞
Great decluttering Crazycatlady2 👏 I don’t think there is enough time left to sort out a new kitchen 😔 Might I make a suggestion - work out the current cost with the 25% discount & then when the next sale comes round cost it again & provided it is cheaper, have another conversation & praise Mr C for his foresight & thrift 😉 😈
Lovely post daisy_1571 😊 Thanks for the books recommendation 👏, I will investigate further 🙂
Excellent digital decluttering TheDoolallyDilly 👏
Good work flamingo747 👏
Excellent decluttering ~FlowerPot~ 👏 how great to have space under the stairs 🙂 Very impressed with DS2’s 20 mile cycle ride to drop off the bag of uniform, so I am awarding him a medal 🏅
oceanspirit, great work decluttering & tidying 👏 I did smile at your decision to get library books rather than buying from CS just because you are enjoying the space 😊 Maybe you have already filed the ‘missing’ paperwork 🤞
Dfw38, sorry to hear that DD2 had to be picked up early from school 😔 but pleased to hear that she is feeling better 😊 Great work sourcing boxes for dcs memory boxes - 3 frogs dealt with merits a medal 🏅 which is on its way.
Great advice Floss 🙂
Great decluttering Siebrie 👏 Just wondering if you have a box with lots of cables/chargers in it 🤨 Maybe your husband added it to that thinking he was being helpful 😔 Good luck with your weekend decluttering 🍀
Excuse me ilovetea - I beg to differ ‘wagging finger emoji’ You have been listing items on ebay which I do believe is a time consuming task - well done 👏
short_bird, you temptress 😈 I am strong, I will resist 😂
vulpix, you might not have decluttered quite as much as MrV but I bet your wardrobe has a lot more room now 😊 A very productive day 👏 and it sounds like you are seeing spaces everywhere 🥳 Hope you have a lovely day using up some of your craft stash 😊
TC77 it definitely sounds like you need to take yourself to the TLC Carriage for the weekend 🙏 As you say there is a “bottomless tea urn & an endless supply of goodies” 😊 Very, very pleased that you recovered your laptop 😮💨
TheDoolallyDilly, good luck rehoming the coat hangers 🍀
I have almost caught up but am flagging now so will post this & reply to weenancy later today 😊

Good Morning everyone ,wide awake at silly o'clock this morning ,(3.45.am) got up made a cuppa and went back to bed, to hopefully be returned to the land of nod, but didn't, so sleep was a bit decluttered, but I figured at least I'm resting.
I get the odd night like that now and again, just bones playing up, bit on the ancient side.I'll probably have a nanny nap after lunch which will probably surprise my young decorator chap
This morning I will declutter my car and pick up my new one from the dealer.I've had a seven seater more tor less for the past 10 or more years but now the DGC are mainly grown and flown I am getting a smaller car.DGS Jack has his driving license booked for Jun and two of the other boys live in London so we only see them on the odd weekends for birthdays or Easter or Christmas as they both lead very busy lives. Ben and Henry (teacher and merchant banker are off at half term for a few days to Marrakesh for some February sunshine. All of the boys like to try different countries and none are really Ibiza /island fans. Henry is off to Egypt in June for a weeks break with his pals from Uni and Ben is hoping to go camping with his pals in the long summer school holidays in Sweden,He loves hiking and fishing etc.
Decorator is doing a grand job, and took away a small filing cabinet that I no longer used plus one of the big sets of book shelves, he says he can use it himself in his lock up store for stashing materials so its not going to waste at least. The computer room only has one set of bookshelves in it now and is very bare and empty
The floor plan and photos for the Estate agents gets done on 7th February I should be all cleared of clutter by then and once they are done the house can go on the market.DD has had a good few viewings this week and more lined up for the weekend which is good. Exciting times ahead
Cheers chums JackieO xx18 -

That's a lot of books @mehefin
Off to charity shops this morning so hopefully 2 bags to them, will count when it's done. Also my mum's hedge trimmer will go back today, though I have a feeling she will make me take my bread maker back which will reclutter my kitchen!
Have a good day allMarried 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.

Hi all, I have been sitting in bed with a cuppa looking at the full moon
. A little thought sent out to anyone who is a teacher or who has childcare duties today, full moon and wind so there will be fun and games today
Yesterday was quite a good day for sorting again. Another chunk of work surface cleared. Lots of rubble put in the bin / recycling or put where they live. A few things that OH wanted keeping have been put on the end of OH's couch because I have no other idea what to do with them but they are no longer living on the kitchen work top.
2 bags of christmas nuts that we didn't eat have been shelled and stored in an airtight jar so will be used for snacks etc rather than sitting looking lovely in the kitchen. 3 jars of chilli sauce which OH was gifted but never used and were ood have been removed from the packaging, emptied, washed and recycled, unpaired plastic tubs and lids etc etc. So much clutter
I have made some progress on the union thing but it won't now be finished until Monday, other people not available until them. I did a quick email sort and 100 deleted and a few filed.
@Vulpix well done on the wardrobe sort out, I know this is a hard area for you. Maybe doing alterations etc will fill your time and satisfy your declutting urges now you are in maintenance mode
@QueenJess good win on the packaging. I seem to have quite a few of those bags and although I do reuse them they don't seem to get any less
@daisy_1571, thanks for the book recommendation, I will keep my eyes open for them, I quite like a good murder mystery
@Siebrie the bike charger has obviously run off with the keys
@ilovetea I think listing things is a lot of work, it is quite time consuming so well done on that
@mehefin that looks like a lot of books but it does look like a nice space for your community library
Right off for another cuppa and ponder, another chunk of the kitchen on the agenda for today
Hugs to everyone who would like one
142 chunk of kitchen cleared
143 100 emails permanently deleted
144 nuts shelled so will be eaten
Take care everyone

Thanks short_bird, once I've watched and got rid of some of my box of outstanding dvds it'll investigate lost and heroes
