I was at university in the Midlands and I used to see buses going to Leek, but I never went there.
I bought some stress ball type things that I tried but that didn't seem to improve the osteoarthritis in my hands so I am giving the two of them to my dog to play with. She stares at them as they do look like dog toys so she will like that. I threw away the cracked incense holder as well.
The rubbish and recycling went out this week and I included the two old pillows as my cats had wrecked them. I have two shirts of mine to donate to a charity shop, but I am going to go through everything before I take it to the charity shop.
I have the dentist today as I bit down on my dinner the other night and I think my filling has come loose. I hope that is all it is and I don't have to declutter a tooth!

Good morning my fellow declutterati from an overcast but currently dry east End of London 😉 Doesn’t feel quite as mild as yesterday even though the same 11C temperature 🙂 The recycling wheelie bins were emptied day apart from mine which I forgot to put out to the kerbside 🤷♀️ Straight into cheerleading as I am now 2 pages behind 😉
London_1, that sounds like a lovely way to explore the English countryside 😊 As I was reading about you & your friend it brought to mind Miss Elizabeth Bennett, although I did imagine you both in more comfortable & practical clothing 😉 So very sorry to hear about your friend 😔 Dementia is so cruel & robs a person of so much. Hopefully the decorator is working hard & not causing too much disruption 😁 How exciting that you are picking up your new car tomorrow 😊 It still seems such a long time to wait from September to January 😔 Fingers crossed that DD’s viewing goes well 🤞
An excellent start tackling your biggest frog flamingo747 👏 Just a word of caution - please don’t overdo it 🙏 Gravel is such a pain to keep weed free 😔
tibawo, I now having visions of you racing around your house in a frenzy of decluttering 😂 Excellent work “chipping away at the piles/tubs of stuff” & hopefully you have found a couple of ‘treasures’ along the way 🤞
vulpix, great work decluttering your chest of drawers especially the wrapping paper drawer 👏 Just wondering if that is what happened to the vegetable knife (inherited from my mum) - it has had a broken tip almost forever 😉 Keeping everything crossed that you have an uneventful journey to the Shetland Islands next week 🤞
EnergyShifter, hopefully the work on the roof won’t be too disruptive & will be over in the time frame agreed 🤞 Sorry to hear about your eyesight & keeping my fingers crossed that the optician will put your mind at rest & can get the issue resolved quickly & painlessly 🤞Some good decluttering & almost 1:3 ratio of Ins/Outs 👏
Excellent & eclectic decluttering ilovetea 👏
Thanks daisy_1571 👏 I am trying to read a little more this year, so would love to hear your recommendation for another set of books 😊 DSis & I are currently watching the late evening episode of New Tricks …….. again 😔 having only recently watched all the episodes 😔 Good luck with finding “Lost” 🍀 I have yet to be tempted having been so disappointed first time around 😉 The series I would like to rewatch is “Heroes” but it probably wouldn’t be as good as I remember 😂
~FlowerPot~, thank you for my medal 🎖️ - already added to my collection 😉 Sounds like a lovely catch up with your friend 😊 Hopefully next time you can picnic outside 🤞
I have caught up a little & will be back later. I hope everyone is enjoying their day 😊 The sun has come out 🥳

Sorry to be back so soon. Mr V's cull has resulted in a pair of boots, a denim jacket, joggers, a sweatshirt a pair of socks and 10 shirts and a polo shirt. He will take them to the charity shop this afternoon. There are a few things in the wash that will go once they are dry,not counted yet. I am working my way up to empty my wardrobe. I know there are some evening dresses that have been worn once and are now too big. It does smart a bit when you think of all the money spent.

@vulpix Mr V did an excellent job there!
@Liverpool_Anne @Mrs_Salad_Dodger thank you for the kind comments about the gravel, I definitely have a lot of guilt about how bad it gets, I'm glad it's not just me that struggles with it. I have flagstones too and they require a lot too. I hate using weedkiller but it does help me manage it. I tried vinegar, salt, bicarb, boiling water, allowing no avail!
+3 more frogs, grouting and sealing in kitchen needed doing, has been on the jibs list for about 4 months, I finally just did it myself today after assuming it'd need both of usMarried 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.

Sadly the sun didn’t stay out for long 😢
TC77, I was so sad to read this 😔 I won’t add anything new other than to quote foxandflowers “Sorry, am just reading and catching up, but can I just say that this really stuck out to me. TC77 you absolutely deserve nice things, and I think that realising this will be so helpful to you. I don't know you but I am proud of you! Your frog tackling is leading on to bigger and brighter things and before you know it you will be doing a William Morris and have nothing in your house you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful. “ Btw some excellent decluttering 👏 & well done on finding so many belts without having to resort to buying in the cs 🥳
Excellent work on the cleaning & decluttering oceanspirit 👏 Good luck with your batch cooking over the next few weeks 🍀 some great forward planning 👏 Well done on having ‘a difficult conversation’ with your relative, it is just such a shame that it was needed 😔 As you say, you have done as much as you can & the ball is now firmly in their court.
TheDoolallyDilly, keep up the good work on the digital decluttering 😊 Hopefully you will soon start to notice a difference as you chip away 🤞 It is kind of a shame that TC77’s comments have struck a chord with quite a few of our Declutterati Family 😔 A sad fact that so many people are way too hard on themselves, although if we can talk about it hopefully we can start to realise that not only are we amazing but also that we DO deserve nice things 😊 Your mantra “always to be happier with less, and pay it forward” seems like a great place to start 👏
London_1, thanks for the suggestion of old fashioned wire wool 👏 I will keep an eye out the next time I go shopping 🙂 Such lovely stories & more beautiful memories of the joyous times spent with your friend 🥹 Good luck with your second culling 🍀
Dfw38, pleased to hear that you have scheduled some ‘me time’ into your week 😊 Sending get well soon wishes for DS 🙂 Hopefully he will have a long enough nap that you can get the kitchen tidied 🤞
GrannyKate, good luck with the ‘family tree cull ‘ 🍀 I seem to remember my DH doing exactly the same thing - casting his net wide & then refining as more data becomes available 😊 He had a lovely conversation with weenancy when we met up a couple of years ago 😊 Some great decluttering 👏 & good luck with the 1p Savings Challenge 🍀
tibawo, vent away 😊 Hopefully there is not too much left to do to fulfil your contract 🤞& then you can kick her into touch 😉
Thanks Moorviews 🙂 Perhaps you might consider getting the last 2 RO books as part of a reward system for successfully completing decluttering projects 🤔 Some excellent decluttering & well done on dealing with a financial frog (however reluctantly 😃) 👏
foxandflowers, a lovely post 🥹 which I took the liberty of quoting fully when I responded to TC77 😉 Cheeky, I know but your post was so well written 👏
Another few posts caught up but now I think I need to get dressed, write a shopping list for DH & tackle at least one kitchen cupboard 😉

Work is a bit crazy at the moment, but I have an ultimate list of things to do and am blasting through them as quickly as I can. Hoping it'll be less crazy after next week once I will have crossed most the to do list off. I counted and although I have another month to go at work, I'm actually only working 12.5 days as I have a lot of holiday to take! So nearly at the end!I've also been working on a financial frog in the background and it wasn't as bad as I thought, so not sure why I was putting it off. Still got more to do, but have to plough through this work first. Am considering more financial frogs and seeing if I can simplify things to make it easier for myself going forwards. The packaging bags were picked up and someone else even came to pick up the jiffy bags as well! Sadly got a few things delivered today (a book and some hair clips for DD), so now got some more bags to get rid of. I'm going to try to keep the ones going out at the same pace as the ones coming in. If it all goes wrong, I can collect them up for someone to take on Buy Nothing as someone does the Vinted account for the school and needs bags.Cupboards in the kitchen are looking a bit emptier, but still lots to do there. The baking cupboard has a whole overflow cupboard to itself and I am now very confused about what I do and don't have. I think it is mainly bread flour, but I often make 2 loaves a week and so can get through one bag of flour a week easily. I'd like to have only 1 overflow cupboard ideally for extra bits (plus extra breakfast cereals as they don't fit in the other cupboard)... I have 4 at the moment, although 2 of them have almost nothing in now. I will be very carefully going through it all before I do my big shop next week to make sure I am only buying what I need.Digital:New total = 2,124

A few more to report before I fetch smaller people. Done some more of my FH cull but will only report when another 1000 names have gone. Ex DIL brought things of DGD4's this morning that she wants to keep here. She has space on her bedroom shelves so I will help her put it away after school. Lots of her stuff on table for rehoming but I have sorted like with like and picked out and binned rubbish, sticky bits etc. I did buy a spare quilt set for DS2 as he only has one and has to use my frilly spare ones. Just realised I can put it in his birthday gifts for Sunday.
153 Light bulbs found at last for dining room at small electrical trade shop - less than half the price they would have been in B&Q if they had any of the right type and size
154 CS bag dropped off
155 INk cartridges dropped off at recycling
156 New peg hanger for socks bought and the old one (which had very few pegs left) immediately put in rubbish bin which was just about to be collected from roadside
I decluttered a bacon butty and cup of tea at Mr Dun. Very nice too but I resisted their lemon meringue which I am partial to.2025 Decluttering Campaign 648/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Thanks drw, I don't have Disney plus so I'll have to wait a bit longer
Jackio fabulous lamb story. I was once driving past a field with a huge high fence and my passenger wondered why it was so tall. I suggested it was to keep the spring lambs in. Heehee, still makes me giggle.
Tibawo hope you can let it wash over you for the contract remainder
