Umkomaas said:That can often be the start of the discontinuation process (read the Discontinuation thread), but with £5k at play, it's not a given. However, there's not much other reason why DCB Legal might be calling.
Ive also spoken to contester Legal who wanted approx. £70 a ticket to resolve the claim so I will be waiting to hear back from DCB legal now and begin the legal process.
I will begin drafting my defence and post it up for critque when Im done. Thanks to you and everyone else for their help so far.

the chap I spoke to on the phone didn't seem to have a clue, however I will approach them again as I was not made aware of this over the phone.
I am going to begin putting my defence together over the next few days as I have not heard from them re the two parking tickets I have received from my classic car but received a phone call re the 5k.1 -
I have just received a delightful email from my local MP.
The email states that further to their correspondence at the beginning of the month, Euro Car Parks have responded stating that all of the PCN's have been cancelled.
Whilst I am delighted to hear this info, as previously mentioned, DCB contacted me stating that they would be submitting further information to me in the post following the letter before claim.
I was about to send another request form to DCB Legal stating 'I have just received the following information' but there is no scope on their website to submit screen grabs/images. (I wonder why).
My question to the hivemind now... is do I let DCB legal proceed with their claim against me and then go after them for damages and/or the emotional strain they have put me under etc.
I would be interested to hear if anyone has had a similar chain of events.
also... Damn. I never thought in a million years that emailing my MP would have received this sort of response.3 -
The justice system expects people to sort out the matters before any court claim, so personally I think that you should inform DCB Legal that their client ECP has cancelled the PCNs so they should check back with their client and close the case, otherwise you will counter claim if a court claim arrives etc
They should only contact you to inform you that its been done
You have then set out your stall, in writing3 -
Try emailing paul@dcblegal.co.uk and tell him to wind his neck in and close the case, and move on to easier prey.
Your MP did brilliantly!
Which MP please? Could you show us a screenshot of the lovely email (redact your name).
And do you still have these stacks of letters? Please could you spread them all out on the floor or stack them up in a huge pile on a table and take a photo (I can use it as evidence for the Government to encourage them to get a move on with the new statutory regime. As part of my work on the Steering Group I can lobby and I can provide evidence):I came home from work one afternoon about 4 months ago and was greeted with a stack approx. 50 odd letters all from GCTT telling me I owed them vast sums of money and that they would be sending bailiffs around within 7 days if I didn't pay all of the tickets.
probably about a week later, I came home and found a stack of around 50 letters all the ZZPS all stating the same thing.
Both stacks of letters demanding money and threatening with bailiff action were in relation to alleged parking violations that occurred between 2018 - 2020/Jan 2021.I bet other people who worked at the Head Office have had the same or worse - CCJs even. Some might have panicked and paid huge sums of money.

I have a photo somewhere in the depths of my phone with the letters from DCBL stacked up against a coffee cup for scale.
I will endeavour to dig it out, make it site safe and upload it to the thread.
As for the email, all I have for the time being is confirmation from my MP's office. I have asked them to forward me the email from ECP so I can also potentially share it on the site.
once I have the email, I will screen grab it you you lovely forum types and will name the MP.
Its a substantial weight off my mind after it was mentioned they were very unlikely to drop the matter for 5k

DashPlease note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
