Your greenhouse must look fabulous. I've got to clean my standing cold frame to start some seeds off and you have inspired me to make a start on it. Your dinner and cookies sound yum2

@Smudgeismydog best of luck with your move. Your lifestyle change and move to a more rural area sounds ideal. I’m currently moving out of a large town, to a smaller quaint town and I have intentions for a slower and simpler life, tending to my garden, pottering around town and walking by the river when my health allows. I hope your move goes smoothly.@zcrat41 your tea sounds delicious!Happy Sunday everyone. I love Sundays for slowing down and relaxing before the working week starts again. I’ve started this morning relaxing with a coffee whilst watching Alan Titchmarsh and starting my new mortgage overpayment spreadsheet which is somewhat intimidating 😬. The rest of the day will be spent pottering around at home and reading my book.4

Leftatthetrafficlights (can’t seem to make the ‘@‘ work today!) please post a photo of your braised cabbage meal!!
Having a slow day here so far - my son is gradually moving out which feels very odd tbh! I’ve spent this morning sorting out a drawer and also doing a list of what’s in the freezer. Off shopping shortly for the week. When I get back I absolutely must tackle my finances by adding my receipts to YNAB. Months since I’ve done it and I really want to get a handle on it again.I’ve decided to try growing some veg this year, starting small by potting up leftovers like carrot tops etc. saw some nice trugs when I went to the garden centre yesterday with some friends. The meeting with Pensionwise was interesting and gave me food for thought - they’ve also sent links to various sites so I need to look into that too.3 -
@zcrat41 - well done on cleaning the greenhouse!! 🙌 I need to do mine but I'm waiting for a good day so the seedlings won't be too shocked at being outside for a while 😉
@Florafauna - I hope you managed to make a start on your coldframe...
@sunshineli - good luck with your move! I'm sure the overpayments will soon be making an impression on your spreadsheet 😉
@mrs_slapshot - it's strange when kids are moving out, I had 32 years of kids at home but it was really lovely finally having my own space 😁 I'm glad the pensionwise meeting was useful! See below for the food 😉
It ended up being a tarragon cashew cream sauce and I did rye berries on their own as opposed to mixed grains. I'm really tired now - I've had a really busy but very nice day; I went shopping, made firebricks, tofu, 'cheese', ivy laundry liquid and dinner! Dh has made a fire and I'm going to relax now before I check the kitchen is sorted and make a pot of hibiscus and lemon verbena tea 😁

The hurling rain has prevented any coldframe cleaning today. Hopefully a job for next weekend2
-
@Florafauna - shame about the rain 😔 hopefully next weekend will be better 🤞
This morning I have bottled my ivy leaf laundry liquid, put the okara into the dehydrator (I'll be using it as a granular fertiliser in the garden once it's dried) and put some wild rice in the dehydrator to bloom.
I was going to make a butternut squash and black bean chilli for tonight but we have butter beans and tarragon cashew cream leftover so I'll have those again with broccoli, carrots and quinoa instead.
I've spent quite a bit of time this morning watching the pheasant in the garden - he's been very rowdy over the past couple of days! The deer has been in several times over the last couple of days too; I do love country living!
Anyway, this afternoon I'm going to make some more tofu then I think I'm going to kick back and watch an old film - possibly Calamity Jane 🤔😁

I used to love watching Calamity Jane when I was younger. I do like old films, the thrillers mostly. I might look for one to watch tomorrow.
I haven't been feeling well so I have been having a very slow lifestyle at home. I am trying to reduce my screen time so I have been reading a lot instead. I did have a library book at home that I have finished (a Harlan Coben one) and I have found a few free books on Amazon Prime reading that are quite good.
I am just pottering around, mostly resting, reading and having magnesium baths. My husband is out at the moment to pick up my other prescription at the pharmacy and he is getting us some chips from the chip shop as I cannot be bothered to cook tonight!4 -
So it's been a crazy day today! We have accepted an offer on our house and have had the survey completed for the new one in the North east. Very pleased but also discombobulating. DH has bought me a fab long sleeved neoprene swimsuit, it's fits brilliantly and feels great. I'm feeling very lucky. Had a swim earlier, it was so quiet, only me and one other person. The birdsong sounded lovely.
Hope you all have a slooow evening.
@Wednesday2000 I also had a chippy tea. Please look after yourself, you sound a but low6 -
Congrats @Florafauna, that’s excellent news, I’m so pleased for you x

@Wednesday2000 - sorry to hear you've been feeling unwell 😔 hopefully you'll feel better soon 🤞 I've read a few Harlan Coben and enjoyed them but not read anything recently - I can't read anything of length on a screen, I'm a book made of paper person!
@Florafauna - how exciting!! 🙌🥳 glad you got a good swimsuit finally too 😁
Final batch of tofu made and Calamity Jane watched 🙌😁 I've really enjoyed my afternoon! Dh is watching footie tonight so I'm having an early night - I'll watch a bit of youtube and then meditate.
Decided against quinoa tonight and did mixed grains instead, also added some cauliflower that was left over from the other day - it was lovely 😍
