Hoping for a fairly slow day. Well it's started slow as we didn't get up til nearly 10, had our fishy breakfasts (grilled salmon for me and grilled smoked haddock with poachers for him). I've got a load of laundry hopefully nearly finished so I can put it on the rack before I go to work in about 10 minutes (eek!). Then 2 hours at the food bank giving money advice before heading home and not going back until 4th April as we're off on a cruise of the Norway fjords. Small issue is I don't think I've booked enough days holiday but I know I can get round that. (so lovely when a job is accommodating)
Might have fish again for dinner. Or not. Who knows. OH is going past a farm shop on his way to get his hair cut with our hair guy who is also a good friend. They will no doubt and chat away all the problems in the world and patch up their relationship that had become a bit shaky of late. I look forward to this evening and hearing what they discussed.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Really looking forward to a very slow weekend. Work has been frankly awful over the last two days to the point of making me feel ill. I left early and had a swim at my beloved lido, then went to the sm and bought some treats which I am now enjoying. Friend over the road has given me some books so I'm planning a very early night and a catch up on sleep.
No firm plans this weekend other than swimming, reading, walking and resting3 -
I’m so sorry @Florafauna, it really sounds like you’ve had a hard time in work.
Tuesday was hideous for me, but luckily I had booked Wednesday off, and had time to mooch around old fashioned shopping arcades full of independent shops, then a lunch out on vouchers which helped to reset me.
I went to yoga last night, and now it’s Friday so that’s another working week done 👍
Hope you all have a calm, content weekend xI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pension, Debt Free Wanabee, and Over 50 Money Saving boards. @Valli - I'm so sorry that you've had so much to deal with! 😔 it seems that you are very resilient though and having your dd back home must make things feel better 😁 I love The Ivy , do you go to the one in Covent Garden? I hope you enjoyed your coffee 😁
@Brie - the fjord trip sounds lovely!! 😁 its so beautiful there, I hope you have a fabulous time!! I hope your dh has a good catchup with his pal 🤞
@Florafauna - I'm so sorry you're having such a hard time at work 😔 hopefully a peaceful weekend will help you recover 🤞
@Smudgeismydog - I'm glad you got the opportunity to have a nice lunch and mooch 😁 I've restarted yoga today after quite some time away from it and it was a lot harder than I remember!! 😳 hopefully I'll improve daily and muscle memory will kick in!
So tonight I had yesterday's leftover beetroot and apple salad and bloomed wild rice with pomegranate in an orange, mint and date dressing but I made some walnut and mushroom bolognese to go with it. It was very lovely and I gave my grandbaby it with pasta for his dinner - he loved it too!!

The Ivy was the one near the theatres, really close to where the Mousetrap is on. Absolutely beautiful 1930s decor. Impeccable service, too. No more than I deserve, lol.
Cleaned the kitchen and bathroom today. Am thrilled that Downton A New Era is on Netflix (DDs account but my tv) so i have that to look forward to.
Got a work thing tomorrow am and girls night out tomorrow night. Must get some cash as the pub is cash only.

@leftatthetrafficlights your dinner looks delicious and had inspired me to make something lovely for dinner. I'm not surprised the youngster loved it as well1

@Valli - not sure it's the same Ivy but they are all lovely - I've been to three different ones (London, Cheltenham and Norwich) and the food and service are always outstanding 😁 Hope you have a lovely night out!
@Florafauna - I hope you enjoy your dinner! 😁 I thought of you today when we were at the beach at around 4.30pm and two people in swimsuits, hats and booties entered the sea!! 😳 I have come to the conclusion that you're all slightly barmy!! 😉😂😂😂
I've had a lovely day today - did a ten minute asana practice then played trains, made a castle from boxes, went to the toy shop, had lunch, fed ducks, went to the beach and made sandcastles then home to play with trains again!
I made some sweet potato and squash soup last night so we'll be having that for dinner - while we were out today I bought 3 lots of ys mushrooms which I've sliced and am currently dehydrating, I'll either use the whole or I may grind them for mushroom powder 🤔 Tomorrow we are going sow seeds and start off some micro greens - my grandbaby loves doing that sort of stuff 😁

lovely day yesterday, volunteer morning at the CIC where i work, hoping to attract more volunteers. Came home, DD and i had a light lunch then i watched Downton Abbey A New Era on Netflix but fell asleep. Can’t get much slower than that! Not much planned for today.

@leftatthetrafficlights - what do you use mushroom powder for? Not something I would have ever thought about yet alone used!2
-
@Valli - glad you had a lovely day yesterday and hope today is as peaceful 😁
@joedenise - I chuck it in soups, stews, casseroles, bolognese, shepherd's pie etc - anything that benefits from an umami flavour really 😉
