Free software to replace MS Money

I have used money for many years but never considered using it on a computer that is connected to the InternetChickereeeee said:I still use it, and keep all my banking, credit card and investment transactions updated, online, using it.
I wish there was another package I could use, but there doesn't seem to be anything close.0 -
I have used MS Money since 1993 so had a lot of historic data saved. I recently tried Maxim Money, which was designed from the outset to be a natural successor to MS Money. MS Money data was imported succesfully and I am now a happy user of Maxim Money. Many more bells and whistles than MS Money and great that I can add an attachment (receipt or other document) to transactions.(Not free, but good value for money!)0

Gulp, just looked it up, at £35 per month per user, it is hardly Money saving IMO.

Not sure what you're looking at, the website suggests "We don't like software rental models. Once you purchase Maxim Money, you will never have to pay for it again", which suggests it's £35 (discounted to £20) one off.
There is a free version of this software.

Their website says "Once you purchase Maxim Money, you will never have to pay for it again" so not £35 per month!

Before I switched to Windows 11 and not sure if M$Money 2004 would run, I downloaded KMYMONEY onto my laptop in order to test it. I liked it but because I had several years (over 20) of M$Money files and couldn't find a way of importing them into KMYMONEY to keep the interface looking like M$Money and working the same way, I concluded that I would stay with M$Money and fortunately it works. If you were starting from scratch, I think KMYMONEY would be satisfactory.

KMyMoney certainly looks interesting, but there are a few screens that have display issues, such as the New Investment Wizard that make it almost impossible to use in Windows, as you have no idea what you are clicking on or entering into the dialogs as the text is white on a white background
Edit: Just opened today, and the main transaction register is now white text on light grey, so impossible to read.

Interesting, I didn't get as far as trying the investment area. I do have investments and it works quite well in M$Money.
