Hi there, I received a letter from the county court "Notice of Allocation to the Small Claims Track (Hearing)". Please can someone tell me what happens from here? I have a Holiday booked July 24th-31st & the court case is Booked within this date, please can someone tell me what I can do about changing the date? I attach the letter, thanks so much for helping

    Oh no!

Why didn't you email the court the minute you booked that holiday? I'm so sad people keep not doing that, even though Defendants know that a hearing date will be allocated.

You can't change it free of charge unless the Claimant agrees.  You'll have to ask their solicitor to consent.

I only booked the holiday 2 weeks ago :#

When you completed your N180 - DQ, did you block out ay dates when you would not be available?

I completed and sent the N180 before any holiday was considered. Some time after this, a deal came up and was then booked.

Anyway, you know the only way to change it free, as I explained already. Otherwise it's an N244 application and a £119 fee.

Today the 'without prejudice save as to costs' email arrived from DCBlegal

Also an email has been sent to DCBLegal requesting a court date change.

Good. Did you give them a deadline to agree?

DCBlegal reply arrived. They say that I should contact the court to make a change and that's about it.

Also I visited Burnley court to try to speak to somebody about the court date change but there was only a printout on the wall saying there's nobody home and i should phone a number which i will do in the morning. the court entrance smelled of pee and public toilets, and there was airport style security.
