New Letter (dated Feb 1st, arrived Feb 8th) arried today from the DVLA regarding the vehicle correction request.

"Thank you for the reply about the details we hold against the above vehicle.
Our records also show that the vehicle registration certificate (V5C) issued to your address was used to tax the vehicle.
Our records also show that the vehicle registration certificate (V5C) issued to your address was used to notify us of the sale of the vehicle.
For me to investigate, please could you provide an explanation of how the above may have occurred:"

Then there's a section to fill in.

Don't know what to say othere than what has already been given to the DVLA i.e

    Email sent to DVLA #1:

    Email sent to DVLA #2:

"I write further to my email timed at [    ] on 17 January 2024 (copied below).

For the avoidance of doubt, I have never kept this vehicle or applied to be registered as the keeper of this vehicle.  However, I understand that DVLA did register me as the keeper of this vehicle, with which I have never had any connection.  That registration was incorrect, either as a result of an error by DVLA or by deception on the part of an unknown person.

As a matter of urgency, please issue the necessary correction"
Who paid to tax the vehicle and how?  This transaction should be traceable how much leverage can be applied to DVLA to get this information, personal details, card holder etc disclosed?

If it was taxed, it would have been insured, who can check the insurance status during the period in question?

If it was taxed, it would need a valid MOT were was the MOT issued for the period in question?

As mentioned elsewhere if the vehicle was transferred to a new keeper what details are on the transfer, to whom, when, their address etc ?

Have you checked to see if the vehicle is still taxed/mot'd?

@BikingBud yep I have posed these questions to the dvla to check for me, still waiting on the second relpy from them though.

Submitted the N180, so that's now done, and Burnley is chosen as court location.

Why are you posting mortgage details Biking Bud?
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

Not sure why you felt the need to hijack somebody's post to rise this point but for the same reason that some people add bizarre and smug quotes to their posts🧐

ETA - BTW did you find any of the content I posted either of use to you or feel it might have given the OP some options to consider as they try to manage this difficult situation?
  • Received dvla reply. It is rather odd. Do I send a copy of it to DCBlegal - Or keep it for the court case? Thanks

Send it to DCB Legal if it confirms what you are saying. Tell them if they fail to discontinue immediately you will sue them and their client.

    Hello,
Today I received 'Notice of Transfer of Proceedings' letter from the CNBC. It says that the claim has been transferred to Burnley County Court, that details of the judge's directions will be sent to me as Judge's Directions.

Then you are waiting for Burnley court to send both parties a letter, which could be in several weeks or months time, the directions will be in the letter
