Submitted my defence now so fingers crossed.

With regards to the email response from CCBC AQ - is the auto response fine as acknowledgement that my defence has been received, or should I expect a 'human' response?

    All automated.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

No human response for 2 months (DQ stage).

But PLEASE come back here in August to help yourself, all UK drivers/keepers and the DLUHC with their evidence needed to support the draft Impact Assessment.

It's specifically going to want evidence about private parking charge levels and banning the fake 'fees' that (a) stop people paying PCNs before court because the amount has risen ludicrously high, and (b) facilitate the race to court by lining the roboclaim & Debt 'recovery' aggressive  bullyboys' pockets.

We need to change the law and the responses the DLUHC will be calling for will only be open for a few weeks.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    Quick update on this.

Received the DQ180 form and filled this in using the guide on the site - one question I couldn't find the answer to, can I scan and email this back or does it need to be sent via post.

Secondly, and probably more interestingly (?). Letter was received from VCS, stating that Elms Legal are no longer representing them...

The letter also offered a 'reduced settlement charge'

Pursuant to the Civil Procedure Rules, insofar as litigants are expected to try and resolve their disputes wherever possible, we are willing to accept a reduced settlement charge of £195.00 payable within 14 days from the date of this letter. This offer is made on a "without prejudice" (save as to costs) basis.

Should you fail to accept our offer of settlement then we will continue with our Claim for the full amount claimed and bring this letter to the Courts' attention upon the question of costs. To make payment.....

Plan to just ignore their letter?

Yes that's all normal for VCS.  Elms Legal only do the easy bit at the start.

You email the DQ as the first 12 steps tells everyone (first post of the Template Defence thread).

Another quick update - and request for advice on my case.

The case has been assigned to Leeds Combined Court - I've received a letter from the court asking for an 'Acknowledgement of Service' - any idea what this is and how I do it?

    Thanks!

POST EDIT - Edited to say, pretty sure the AOS it what I filed online on the MCOL website right at the start, I can see this online saying I intend to defend all of the case, so any idea why the Leeds court is asking for this?

Presumably after completing the AoS following receipt of the claim form, you submitted a defence and then you received a DQ (N180) form, which you completed and returned. I believe you are being asked to confirm receipt of service of the allocation to small claims court.

We had another case last week where a court said the AOS was missing from the court file.  Pointless!

Wonder if that's Leeds too? You could pm the person to ask.

What a silly waste of time.  But you have to send it so send a screenshot of MCOL's history, if that's all you have.

Thanks! Even more helpfully there was no contact details / email on the letter either!

Per the previous posted, I've submitted all the previous steps including my defence and the N180 form!

Another update (and request for advice on my case!)

I've now been allocated a date in court in June (about 6 weeks off), this has been allocated to my local court in Leeds.

However, I'm on holiday on this date so won't be able to attend, can i submit a written defence statement to be presented to the court (or can I ask for an alternative date!)

Also, what is the likelihood of VCS actually sending someone to defend the case? They've sent me another offer letter of £200 for settlement and stated that if I don't settle and lose, I will be liable for their legal costs - I don't think this is right but would be helpful if someone can clarify?
