Milliered said:Hi all, hope everyone is ok.
Sorry to bother folk on a Sunday.
I have now got a hearing for the 28th October and are now at the witness stage. The letter was sent to me on the 30th August while I was away and then i started a new job so I am only just getting on this now.
Would just like to clarify a couple of points if I may.
It states that the witness statement needs to be received no later than 28 days before trial so I have till 30th Sept.
Does it all have to be sent by post(to both the court and VCS) or by email? Just asking as in previous posts ,it was advised to only send by email to VCS.
Am I to include all of the transcripts I used in my defence?
As I understand after reading through some of the witness info,I should give my account of what happened, still withholding the drivers name, include the PoFA and the edited transcripts that I used in the defence?
I have also received a letter from VCS stating that they are confident that they have a strong case against me but will accept £200 settlement to avoid extra costs of £220 for a local solicitor.
Do I have to acknowledge this letter to them or just bin it?
Many thanks
Unless you want to take VCS up on their very generous offer, ignore it.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister. All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks1 -
Hi Fruitcake, thank you for your reply.
The info that has been sent with the court and trial details doesn't actually include an email address, just the P.O. Box and address .
The info sheet that was sent with it just states must send copies and documents to all parties.
Would there be general email for the court or specific one for different types of cases?
And please could you point me in the direction of Witness statement examples as I just can't find them on the site.
I have handwritten 6 sheets of A4 but just not sure it's in a format that would be recommended.
Many thanks0 -

Also,as far as I know VCS are having to use a local solicitor as they informed me some time ago that Elms Legal is no longer acting for them.0

Thank you Fruitcake,will do.
I still can't find examples of good witness statements to see how I structure my own. I am struggling around the site in afraid.
I have read that there is 5 good examples but just can't find them. Also, that Coupon-mad has removed old AS as they weren't up to date. Just can't find any examp!as and don't want to waste hours doing something completely wrong.
Would be very grateful if you could point me in the right direction to see how to put it together please?

Hello.
Please can someone advise as to where I can find example witness statement. I have looked all through the newbies thread and just cannot find them.
Really sorry but going around in circles for hours now.
I have it all handwritten but I am sure it has got to be in a different structure. I donte want to waste people's time, including my own by typing it all out completely wrong.
Please help.

Just search the forum for some WS, thinking up some relevant keyword searches.
Or just scroll down the thread list.
Loads of cases are being worked on daily. Plenty are at WS stage. Look at thread titles. Click on ones that look as if they are at WS stage. I saw at least two threads with good WS and evidence this weekend.
We don't just have them to hand and there are no templates (and I don't know the usernames) so it is a case of skim-reading thread titles.
Go back at least a dozen pages. Read & learn.
I have also received a letter from VCS stating that they are confident that they have a strong case against me but will accept £200 settlement to avoid extra costs of £220 for a local solicitor.
Do I have to acknowledge this letter to them or just bin it?They are lying. They also DON'T mention a 'solicitor' and don't use one. You've made an assumption. It's a rookie legal rep.
You realise they can't charge that fee?
Why not just search the forum for:
VCS confident £220
...which will obviously find loads of cases where people posted about this exact same letter and were at the same as you.

Hello Coupon-mad
Thank you for replying.
I will take on board your advise and work harder to find the info needed.
As for the solicitor statement,I was only repeating exactly what the letter from VCS stated about "incurred costs in having to instruct a local solicitor to attend the hearing"
Many thanks for your invaluable help as always.0
