Panda, I have just phoned EOS and was told that MJ are getting people on their flights, phone them and they should tell you if you have been rebooked, the guy also says that Virgin are taking up some of te slack as well. They are litterly doing this last minute. You can get to JFK for about £150pp which gets you there in plenty of time for the EOS flight. Report back if you find anything out
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.
  • Panda - just heard from someone on Trip Advisor who had Maxjet flights back from Vegas on the 27th and heard absolutely nothing from them either. They turned up at the airport early that day and went to see Virgin, who were apparently expecting them and took them home (in economy though).

Good luck and let us know how you get on!
  • If you paid for Airline Failure Insurance (should be on your invoice or there should be a sticker on your copy of the e-ticket or on your wallet) then you can claim through the insurers. It normally costs around £5 extra, but is not normally offered on online bookings made directly with the airline, but is/should be when booking through a tour operator/travel agent.
  • Ive made 6 calls toi Maxjet and they keep telling me to wait for a call. We went to Contenental and got a flight for $1200 for both of us, to Belfast via Newark, Virgin and AA wanted $1200 each!!

Good luck to anyone else stuck here, DO NOT rely on MAXJET to get you home!!

Good luck Panda. I went to the airport today and there is someone in the Maxjet office. He said that all you do is arrive at the Virgin desk on the morning of the day you are supposed to travel and they accept you on that days flight. I confirmed this at the Virgin desk

  • My brother badgered them into ringing, they have confirmed us on a Virgin Economy flight for 31st and are ringing in the morning to give us hotel details.

    Phew!

    Good on Silverjet.

I know it is in part a PR exercise for them, but when we see all the other airlines doing nothing to help, and giving those having to rebook no discounts, I do think that they deserve some credit for their efforts x
    Gone ... or have I?
