The OP has probably gone for a fag.

I wasn't going to come back on this but @HillStreetBlues, thankyou for pointing out the error in my first post. It was thee butt.
@Aylesbury_Duck, I didn't think it was a valid and pertinent question. As I already said, he only picked up on the Aldi till receipt and not the Morrisons car park ticket. We were not in the car park at either of the times stated by the FPN but then, I had already stated that.0 -
It clearly was, because in this very post, you confirm the error in your first post. Even the question about the Aldi receipt was a fair one, because you yourself introduced the Aldi receipt as evidence. The other poster simply asked why it was helpful because it's not apparent that it is. If you felt it wasn't relevant, why did you bring it up?LindsayT said:I wasn't going to come back on this but @HillStreetBlues, thankyou for pointing out the error in my first post. It was thee butt.

Anyway, now you've confirmed that the butt you dropped was the butt in the ashtray (I'm not sure why it's been referred to as "thee butt", we're well beyond the middle ages), you should have what you need to dispute the FPN.1 -
Sorry I cant offer advice, but I got one of these years ago @ Glasgow Central railway station. They stand outside the main entrance where people stand for a cigarette inbetween trains. There are no bins about because of bomb scares (false ones) so people do drop the cigarette end. It is basically free cash for Glasgow City Council and I think it's nothing short of a disgrace. He told me it was all captured on CCTV and to appeal would be pointless. I wrote a letter asking the council for CCTV footage - I think it was a subject access request and they wrote back saying fine cancelled. I was heading to Lloret de Mar and it spoilt the start of my holiday. It's more or less a honey trap. I hope you get it sorted.0

Come on...it's littering, however you dress it up. Would you say that leaving a drinks can on the floor is OK when you're thirsty between trains and there aren't any bins around? Why is it any different for cigarette litter? You're just making excuses for antisocial behaviour. Whatever the rights and wrongs of FPNs for it, it spoiling the start of your holiday was entirely self-inflicted.Largs said:Sorry I cant offer advice, but I got one of these years ago @ Glasgow Central railway station. I am not getting into a ding dong about it. I gave what happened to me and that is it. It's is not antisocoal behaviour in my book. If there was a bin, it would be in one. Most people are tidy and considerate in my book. I will repeat once again that I hope the poster gets things sorted. City Council resources would be better spent elsewhere, like catching the people in cars whos exhaust sound like a race car or the ones that use the drive through at fast food places and throw the entire bag out the window. I could go on but taking away bins and then standing there outside the entrance to railway station knowing full well there is no where to put litter in unfair. Entrapment.Aylesbury_Duck said:

Yes it is (in my opinion) and if there are no bins available - put it in your pocket untill you find oneLargs said:

Just because a bin isn't directly available doesn't excuse throwing rubbish on the floor7 -

Or buy one of these:LindsayT said:I showed him the travel ashtray I have in my bag with a butt in it. He said "I know you have that but you dropped a butt". Well, he didn't know I had that until I showed him.7
