The £80 was within the ATM somewhere. It was not automatically reconciled and both organisations say there was nothing wrong with the transaction.0

Another Update.
Following my complaint to the F O S and going through the procedure, the F O S taking up my complaint,a different outcome to last time.
Had a telephone call yesterday from the case handler informing me that the CO- OP Bank were willing to "give me" an £80 goodwill payment to settle the matter. I accepted - reluctantly- due to the amount of work involved for all parties concerned -not to mention cost.
I suspect without the F O S I would have got nowhere.
I am left with the feeling that the ATM operator has been left blameless in this whole episode -and it was my fault for not being quick enough retrieving the notes.2
