Built in ovens, fridges etc, usually just inside the door or edge of door when open.

Signature on holiday for two weeks

Engineer coming to fix it next Monday

If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.
  • Beko engineer came at 8:30 this morning and quickly diagnosed fault - Currys had left a cable across a hot part of the oven - moved it - sorted - took 5 minutes !

    Ha-ha, nice, MOD :-)
This doesn't make sense to me - that's what I meant.
How can heat affect the insulation value of a cable, either to cause leakage or a short - whatever the cause of the issue was? Surely only by heating it to near destruction. In which case they wouldn't have just moved it away from the heat.
    I don't understand :-(

I think that it was an earth that was touching something that it shouldn't

  • I have had to contact BEKO again
    The oven is still faulty

1.It is still tripping if you turn the knob anticlockwise to the off position, but only when turned clockwise (all the way round the dial to OFF – It doesn’t)

    2. Randomly – on the display panel, the LOCK and BELL symbols flash and the time shows 0000 and within 30 secs – it returns to NORMAL

    3. When the fan assist oven is on – once it is heated up, the fan makes a strange/loud noise, this is only since the BEKO engineer came to work on it.

My wife no longer uses the fan oven because of the noise

    Update:
Currys have offered an exchange or refund
I assume that an exchange would mean Laurel and Hardy trying again to install
And a refund would be difficult because they removed and disposed of the old oven - would we get back the cost of disposal too (£25) as well as installation of new oven (£115) ?
Plus we NEED a working oven - but ordering a replacement and getting it delivered from elsewhere takes time

If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.

An exchange would hopefully work out OK. Sounds like the oven's faulty if the old one worked.
