Afternoon everyone. This morning I ironed two pairs of trousers and then 'fed' the Christmas cake before wrapping it in greaseproof paper and putting it away until its next feeding session. I then rang the bank about a couple of things I couldn't do online. The whole process (mainly waiting on hold) took nearly an hour and a half and required me to input my 10 digit reference number and my digital banking Pin 3 or 4 times. Anyway, eventually I was able to do what I wanted to do.I also rang the GP and made an appointment tomorrow for my flu vaccination. I tried to contact another organisation about something but their phones didn't seem to be working. I sent an email and they replied quickly promising to send me the info I'd asked for by 5pm today as they hadn't provided it when I emailed last week. It's gone 5 now and nothing.....I then rang another company to see if they could provide a minibus and driver for the charity event but was told to email them, which I did. A grocery delivery then arrived and I put that away. I washed up the breakfast things made lunch washed up again, went down to the basement and read the electricity meter and input the reading online (£250 last month compare to £130 in October and only £56 in September!) I then walked to the end of the road and bought a few Christmas cards and two mince pies from Pret for A, which he says are lovely (I don't like them full stop). Came back and made tea and that's it so far.A friend who lives locally has invited me over for a drink this evening. Although it's nice to get out for an hour for something other than shopping, have a change of scenery and talk to someone else etc. I'm tired, my back aches and it's very cold so I don't really feel like going. I've cancelled on her the last two times she's invited me over though so I have to go or she will de-friend me I fear.9

Aww thanks my lovelies. Having to get a shower this morning in a freezing bathroom was awful but I have spent the day at work where it was lovely and warm. The good news is that the oil tank is back in position and we have a tiny bit of oil left in it so managed to get the heating on for an hour. Really hoping we get an oil delivery tomorrow, but with DH doing the work it has cost us less than £150. I have a lot of sympathy with people who can't afford proper heating.pigpen said:Asparklierblonde said:Just wanted to check in and see if YL is okay? I suspect she has snow and probably still no heating. Please let us know chick xx
I am thinking of her too.. YL.. you are very welcome to come warm yourself at mine.. ((snuggly hugs)) Not the right time of year to be dealing with weather!
Paid stuff has been fairly quiet so I am trying to take it easy for once. Back in the office tomorrow. Will have to fly a little at the weekend and really must. think about Christmas shopping.8 -
Hello, Sorry, I've been AWOL xx
Hope all are ok, and hugs and heating to those who need it xx I have skimmed the thread but I have Christmas concert brain!!!
I dropped Mam off at the hospital for physio this morning, dropped the car at the garage for service and MOT and walked to school....VERY cold!!!!
I have done very little flying, unfortunately, these dark starts and finishes make me want to hibernate in pj's on the sofa after work!!!!- I Must try harder.

toochoosey you are not alone. This time of year is not conducive to flying and doing paid stuff on the same day.
Texts were sent and the Advent calendars have been collected.
The emptied bin and recycling boxes were brought back down the yard by the collectors of two of the Advent calendars. Flying by proxy?
Cabinned in against the icy weather. Hope you are all toasty too

YL
glad things may be warming up for you. Lots of sparkle around it seems; just frost here but I spoke to my Mum near Bournemouth this morning and there were a few snowflakes.
- did more of a report
- wrote and sent in a pay claim
- had a very long lunch with an ex work colleague
- drum lesson
- pilates followed by a swim
Doesn't sound much like flying really although I did buy and wrap a couple of presents and do a few cards. Not that it is flying. Will do better tomorrow.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.8 -
I went over for a drink and was glad I'd made the effort. I came back and made supper, washed up, rang an elderly friend but he wasn't feeling too good so didn't want to chat. We agreed we'd ring again on Sunday when hopefully he'll be feeling brighter. Tidied up the dining table a bit - it tends to be a repository for all sorts of things which are not to do with breakfast, lunch or supper.
Administered medication, sorted out lots of recycling and now nearly time for bed.

Morning all, pinch, punch and all that.
In theory I should fly today while waiting for parcel delivery and doctors phone appointment.
Have a great day everyone.
