Morning all
Whilst I remember @Fayolle @Jazee I finished a book yesterday ‘then she was gone’ by the same author we have been discussing in recent times. Absolutely brilliant, highly recommend.
Cuppa in bed. It’s 9 degrees in the kitchen!! We have an open fire in the kitchen which I would love to replace with a dual fuel stove in time so that I can keep in smouldering all night. No chance with an open fire.Paid stuff today and usual jobs. It will be very icy underfoot so I’ll have to be careful. Food shop due between 4-8, I’ll get a text to confirm the exact hour slot at some point this morning.
Enjoy your advents folks! X10 -

Morning all xx
White everything here this morning but not been out to check if tis light snow or heavy frost.
I'm up, made my bed, dressed, packed my lunch, my breakfast is waiting to be eaten and my brew is waiting to be supped.
But. My first job this morning was to repressurise the boiler. As you do. That ominous red light greeted me and my heart sank. I swallowed my anxiety and had a go at repressurising...sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Heart in mouth. And.....yayyy boiler repressurises and fires up. Not sure where my heart is now after it's yoyo but my stomach is all over the place. Hence currently uneaten breakfast. What ifs have been packed away again. And breathe.
And breathe again. It's Friyayyyyyy. 💃 All is well. And all is well. And all manner of things shall be well. Searching for my inner Hildegard.
Have a good day. Stay safe.

Soggy cereal swallowed.
I think tis both a heavy frost and a dusting of snow..
I'll feed the birds, put out the recycling...if I can open the lid on the bins, defrost Feargal and head off to the paid stuff.

Morning all. It was white, very quiet and minus 4.6 degrees C when I let Rosie out at 7.30; indoors was 14 degrees but still warming up (apparently it's now reached the dizzy heights of 15.6). I had to go out to check whether the neighbours had put their recycling out for collection, so it actually feels a lot warmer indoors, but as soon as I've posted this I'm going to make a cuppa and go back to my nice warm bed while I drink it.
Yesterday I had to go with K to the big city as she had an appointment to get her Italian passport renewed - this time (remember the fiasco a few months ago?) at the correct vice-consulate. Fortunately all went well, she just has to wait anything up to 6 months for the actual document to be delivered....
Whilst on the train, I texted my plumber to ask if he had fixed a date to come and do our boiler service, which I had requested on 20th October. 2 hours later he rang me back and asked if he could call round to the house "in a few minutes", so I phoned DH to warn him. By the time I had got home, that job and the also-requested repair to the leaking toilet had been done, so that's another thing crossed off my list.
I managed to keep well within budget in November, so hoping for the same this month.
I ought to go to Action Heart today, but the roads round here are likely to be very icy, so I will wait until after lunch and reconsider then. I've got plenty to keep me occupied here for the morning - mostly desk jobs, but after breakfast I will start by S&S'ing bathroom and kitchen and making beds, and get DH moving too by tasking him with the hoovering. But first, that cuppa in bed!

Eyeballs are on fire today and my chest is wheezy.. just what I need.. germs!
Contacted the council about the beasties in the loft.. shoving OH up there with traps later.. I need to bait them all.. I may trot off to the shop to buy poison too... they are in the front loft but evidence is in the back loft so they will all have to go in there and the front loft in inaccessible.. or so we thought!!
I have bedding in the WM I think.. I may or may not have washed it on Wednesday. I have a parcel being collected for return and Moomins christmas present and DS1/DIL's present being delivered.. I have a pile to drop at their house later too.
The sky is being disgusting.
Off to clear a hallway space for deliveries and when the sky sorts itself out I might trek to chemist to return/swap these drugs I can't take and buy poison from Mac. I should ring the pharmacy team at dr's to kick them about Twinkles presciption.. they keep giving her stuff she won't eat.
I need my allergy eye drops as well.. not sure where they are..

Morning everyone
Heavy frost here this morning which is still stubbornly clinging to the cars, roofs and pavements.
Having just emptied the kitchen waste bin, I have decided that particular corner needs a good bottoming out and the radiator there needs a good clean so that's my task for this morning.
AC finished and will drive it over to DD's this avo when, hopefully, the frost will have lifted from the car.
Stay warm everyoneI am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Afternoon everyone. Cold here but no frost, let alone snow.Sent another email to an organisation chasing some promised info which has not arrived then emptied the kithen bin and took it down and bought the paper. Mid morning, I took A to the hospital to see a knee surgeon. When we got there they said he had requested that some x-rays be done first so we had to go for that, which involved a wait, and then the x-rays took a while, partly because A's movement is very slow and difficult and it involved removal of clothing and climbing on and off a bed and some other equipment. The upshot was that they are not going to do anything because A's hips and spine are in a worse state and should take priority for any treatment, and those are both different specialisms. We do rather go round and round in circles but, hey ho.After that we went to Pret as A wanted a sandwich and coffee and then it was back home. I made and ate my lunch and then popped to the shops for a few things. Came back, made tea and am now about to wash up the tea (and breakfast!) pots.9
