I took a book back to the library. I have another 4 in a bag somewhere but it was the first time I've let the house in over a week so I carried on. Browsed the selection of books they are giving away and have a few more to add to my emergency pile.
Continued on to little Arseda and put 2 bagged pairs of shoes into the Sally Anne bank. I'm thinking I might give away my good winter coat as well - I bought it in the hope of getting back to serious walking which now seems extremely unlikely. Went in Arseda for paracetamol and some ys goodies (77p prawn and pasta salad). Still a spend day as I bought the sandwich I wanted. I had intended going to B00ts for the 50p (after 4 pm) ones but decided I'd probably done enough (still a bit weak and wobbly).
Got back home, struggled getting upstairs but okay after resting for a while. Gave DS3 instructions on filling the bins and getting them out (and bringing back the ones from last week). Clearing stuff is going quite well, 2 bags waiting by the front door (destined for one of the places that was too far today) and some bits put away in drawers.
I haven't done any sewing for over a week (partly sore eyes and poor co-ordination - hand tremors are quite severe but also don't want things to be germ ridden). I might have to leave that until the new year because my priority is to clear clutter and clean what I can (going to be lots of spraying and leaving it to work it's magic). Will have to satisfy my creative impulses by getting fancy with the gift wrapping. I have more ideas for things to give away including some craft supplies.
Grateful for getting outside, no icy patches left and being determined to conquer the clutter.9 -
Had a great night's sleep, think it helped that I'd read a chapter of my book, before closing my eyes.
Work bestie messaged to say she was ill now too, sout out of 6 support staff, 4 were off sick today! Lots of kids too. My morning went fine, but the afternoon was quite tricky.
Looked at emails, etc when I got home & played a game on my phone to de-stress. After tea, I unpicked & replaced a coat zip.
Grateful for having a late lunch, so my tricky afternoon only lasted 1.5 hours, DH helping me de-ice my car (-4° on my drive, but -1° when I got onto the road, we don't even have a long driveway! 🤣), for the car nor me skidding on the ice
Hugs to all poorlies, hope your shingles disappear soon @apple_muncherUse it up, wear it out

@apple_muncher - take care with the shingles. It can be tough. Maybe Mrs. S_D can give you some pointers as I believe Mr. S_D had it too. If you need some ideas for soothing baths or something similar, try asking around on different threads on OS site. An oatmeal bath can be soothing. Best wishes for getting well.7

Good morning everyone! Cool and foggy here just outside London today, and I love it, reminds me of my hometown.
So sorry to hear you have shingles @apple_muncher they are really painful! I had them when I was 10 (I know, very unusual in a child, the doctor was quite baffled) and I do remember the pain and discomfort and the huge antibiotics I had to take. I also remember my grandmother putting some sort of liquid on it which helped to dry it out and that was extremely soothing. I wish you a speedy recovery, and take it extremely easy for a while!
After basically every single person I know (and also the ones I don't know) has been sick with some sort of sniffly plague, I woke up this morning with a sore throat and runny nose. I do hope it's just a small temporary thing, as this would be the worst timing to get sick, I have to go to the office again tomorrow for a town hall and for Christmas drinks, and then on Sunday I finally have the Christmas fair for which I have been furiously knitting and crocheting for the past 2 months.
So I have decided to take it easy and not to go line dancing tonight, and also I will not go do my volunteering on Saturday, which is a bit sad as they have a Christmas market too this weekend and last year I found the most beautiful things to finish my presents, but it would be really stupid for me to go.
On the other hand, today I have an unexpected NSD day, due to me not going dancing tonight, which is a good thing, I suppose.
Working on my objectives for the month, but I need a bit of a clearer mind, so it might have to wait another couple of days. Today I am grateful for ginger and lemon concoctions, a foggy morning that reminds me of good growing up memories and for the extra soup I made and froze a few weeks ago.

Thank you for the well wishes. ThriftyT, they're currently multiplying 😱 and are reaching right to the limits of 'just on one side of the body ', stretching from just below my belly button all the way round to on my spine. I have about 11 splotches so far. So it looks like I have all the family round, just hope they don't invite the distant rellies to join the party... However, the Dr said the pills will help to mitigate the pain, and paracetamol is helping too. I'm holding back on ibuprofen for the moment. Thanks for the advice to ask over on the OS board. Weenancy, what is Mrs S_D's full name? I feel I should know, but can't remember.Laura, my dc had shingles in y2, so aged about 6, having never had chicken pox as far as we could work out! Theirs was much more isolated to one splodge on their back. And thank you for the reminders to rest up. It's been a week since I saw the Dr about the kidney infection (which might have triggered the shingles, grr), so I do feel like I ought to be getting better by now!

@apple_muncher hope you feel better soon!
Had a bit of a moment this morning about one of my cases at work, just a lot of frustration boiling over. Had a little cry and got things out of my system, then shared everything with my manager in a much more appropriate way! Hopefully things will get sorted.
Had a really busy day but caught up on lots of outstanding work, attended lots of meetings, some useful some not so much. Collected a couple of parcels on my lunchbreak and also walked to the pharmacy after work to collect a prescription. Thinking about some next steps career-wise as well.
Did 45 minutes yoga first thing as well, my back is playing up so it was good to stretch everything out.8 -
Chilly and foggy here this morning. Not a fan of winter! Was a spend day again today as I had to get some things for my brother. Only £2 or so, but it was still a spend.Grateful today for a roast chicken dinner cooked by OH6
