Good evening 🎄
Hugs apple re, shingles. Had them once and ouch! Aren't they infectious when they start to blister? There's your perfect get out clause from having a zillion people over!!! I know we had to nurse patients in side rooms when I worked on a Communicable Diseases ward.
Hugs icc86 re.job. It just means there is something better and brighter out there for you hopefully!
Had a nice day today with family. Went for a coffee (paid for by sister!) and browsed the shops, then back to do a few chores for Dad. Not a penny spent so chalked up another NSD whoop!
Overpaid on my credit cards and chipped a month off my DFD.
Today I am grateful for:
1) Time spent with family
2) Time to myself to recharge
3) Managing to go outside of my comfort zone by braving the Trafford Centre!
Today = NSD number 3
Have a nice evening all x

I was in the office again today for our team Christmas lunch which was paid for by employer.Lunch was so filling that I didn’t want a dinner tonight but I was nice and made OH’s dinner. Brownie points with Santa! 😉
DS is really enjoying his alternative advent calendar I’ve created for him this year. It’s filled with challenges, treats, games, songs and crafts… really quite pleased with myself.Grateful today for a tasty lunch, for DS excitedly talking about his advent calendar to Gran (he thinks elves have made it for him… Santa and the elves get all the credit), and for OH’s Dad feeling OK after his operation. The fruits of my advent labour…NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸11 -
Today I am grateful for calamine lotion!!!! And for dh going and buying it. And for the yummy red pepper soup I made a few days ago.

The daughter of a colleague started with shingles last week, but is doing so much better this week, now the tablets have kicked in. Hope you don't have to wait long for yours to start working too @apple_muncher.
Had 3 eboy sales this week, after nothing for months! Posted the last 2 today. NSD#3 as the buyers paid the postage 😊
-5°C on our drive this morning. DH went out to scrape my car whilst I finished my breakfast, isn't he good?! I hadn't even asked him to either!
A good day at work. Did a tricky sewing job for s teacher Monday night, so she bought me a bottle of schnapps & gave me extra £ too. Gave DH the money for helping me, & I'll have the drink 😉🍹
Watched some TV with DS1 before tea, then the last 2 episodes of a series I was watching on N3tflix. Spent 3 hours sewing, not much time to unwind before bed, so might just head there with my book.
Grateful for DH scraping my car, surprise drink, the cuteness of watching a 5 year old write (sticking his tongue out to concentrate), hug from DS3, TV with DS1 & a sproutmas present in the post (the same person sent my birthday present, which arrived yesterday)
Gorgeous cat @beanielou. We have a ginger one too & his sister is grey with one white toe!Use it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!

@ldee2111 glad that your OH's dad is doing well after his big op. Also love your Advent calendar idea and that your DS is thrilled with it.
@apple_muncher sorry to hear you've got shingles, they are so painful. Hope you feel better soon.
Well done @abundant1972 for cutting a month off your DFD. Every bit helps.
Love your beautiful cat, @beanielouSomeone told me ginger female cats are a rare thing so we're both lucky to have one.
Chaps came to install mum's new log burner this morning so I had the day off to be there. So grateful for a tradesman turning up when he says he will and just getting on with it. Fire looks great and the room feels warmer.
Afterwards took mum shopping at Sainsbugs for a few Christmas bits. Used my doubled vouchers to get some presents and food so got £40 of shopping for £8.16. Was worrying I might not use them in time. Phew.
My sister has a voucher from last Christmas to take us for an afternoon cream tea but we can't seem to get it organised as her and my niece have a lot of commitments. Want to get it sorted before they expire. (The tickets, not my sister and niece!)
Still on no NSDs. Grateful for the new Log burner, the chaps who fitted it within 3 weeks and cleaned up afterwards, my vouchers cutting my spending down. X7 -
Hug greatly received abundant, it was a bit of a shock Took MIL to local shopping centre yesterday, to get her some new clothes as she has lost a lot of weight. Found her a beautiful dress but they didn't have her size, so we are heading to a local village today as they have reserved it at one of their other shops. Spent a pleasant couple of hours milling around until she started to flag and then we escaped.
Today we are due to travel to see an outdoor light show, but the weather is going to be atrocious and the youngest will get soaked (wheelchair user). My mum is coming too and although she is a robust 74 yrs old she hates getting wet. Unfortunately I've checked terms and conditions and we can't alter the day. If we don't go mum stands to lose £64. We were really looking forward to going, but I'm not looking forward to walking in torrential rain for an hour and I predict the youngest will complain the entire time. Will chat to mum later about what to do.
Love 🐞

Today should have been a quiet day. I woke up very dizzy. So after feeding the pets, went back to bed for a couple of hours. But got up in time to help roommate with one of her frogs. Spent most of the day on the computer, but used it to order more cat food and kitty litter (for roommates' cats, I don't have one inside, just feed a feral cat outside.) Only now there appears to be three of them out there which my roommates are feeding from the food I buy. So didn't have a NSD after all. Only two so far this month.
Highlight of the day was the man who is thinking of giving my dog a new home came and the dog was overjoyed to see him. They went to a dog park for a couple of hours and the dog apparently behaved herself. Only problem is dog is depressed that he went and left her here. She wouldn't eat her normal goodies tonight. He will be back to take her to meet his two huskies next week (mine is a husky too). We are hoping it works out. She was originally my roommate J's dog but he wasn't taking care of her (still doesn't help). So she became mine. But I would love to have a good home for her where she has other dogs to play with and someone who will take her for walks.
I did take a box of food to the neighbors. Mostly fruits and vegetables today. My roommate Di's church brings us the leftovers from the food bank. Always too much for our family.
Helped Di solve one of her big problems today, but more to go. Didn't get the packages sorted that I was hoping to, but tomorrow is another day. Schedule tomorrow calls for me to go to a doctor's appointment, pick up ordered cat food and kitty litter, go home get Di and then go to the library for a couple of hours, followed by our last night at the FamilySearch Center this month. We also need to get a couple of toys ready to go to a toy donation event on Friday. I have until Saturday to get the other packages sorted and ready to go. We will also be celebrating Pearl Harbor Day as both my father and roommate Di's father were there when it was attacked. My father was in one of the Army unit's scheduled nearby and were shot at, but those in still in camp made it through. They did lose three of their fellow Army members from the camp who had gone up in a plane that morning and were the first shot down in the attack. Di's father was a civilian worker there at the other army base. My car's license plate frame says "Pearl Harbor Survivor" on it. I inherited the car from him.
It did get to 28C here yesterday, but it is cooling off this week at least a bit. Still haven't turned the heating on.
Today I have been grateful for solving Di's problem on the phone, being able to order cat food and litter as I still had a little bit of money to do it, the man taking my dog to the dog park (her first visit to one), getting food from the food bank and being able to help the neighbors (there are 10 in their family), saving money on gas bill by not having to use the heating yet.
