Haven't posted the past few days as been super busy with work and am knackered by the evening.
Thursday I spent on a stamp and a small topup shop.
Yesterday was meant to be a NSD but I completely forgot to defrost anything for dinner. Been to all the effort of prepping food in advance just to forget about it lol. Bought a takeaway instead, I paid. Not ideal but I keep a little bit of "spare" money each month for situations like this. Usually goes unspent but came in handy yesterday.
Been woken up very early by really loud banging from the flat downstairs going on from about 6.30. No idea what's going on but feeling very grumpy at being up so early on a non work day!10 -

DH didn't go into work yesterday as he slipped on black ice yesterday whilst at work and his knee has swollen up and beginning to bruise. Due to the nature of his work he is unable to go in if he's not fully mobile. It gave him the opportunity to have the Christmas cake mixture spoon and bowl all to himself. I used my grandma's (passed away last year) recipe although i didn't use the gravy browning !!!!!!!!!. There was too much for my tin so made 2 little ones using gu pots. DH was hobbling around like a caged animal. He hates been stuck inside, especially since he was strongly 'encouraged' to write his Christmas cards😏.Christmas day family eruptions have begun and one set of family members are upset (I'd be fuming too), DH is trying to mediate.

My nan made wedding cakes too grandmanerd. Thanks for info, I did wonder if that was the reason. Her cakes were always delicious. I wonder if they still make gravy browning.

Just checking in to give hugs to all and that I am grateful for a fairly tidy house, about to make a very serious Christmas cookie dough and had a catch up with neighbours last night.
Christmas sort of have started around the house, but any good tips to get Christmas light chains to stick to a painted wall, my tape came straight off? I don't want to put nails in everywhere?

Not only did I fall off the diet wagon, I dragged it into the woods, set it on fire and used the insurance money to buy cupcakes.
It is slow and steady. One stubborn step and then another, that we walk our way into our dreams. Small steps with consistency lead to powerful results.

Even now, as broken as you feel, you are still so strong. There is something to be said for the way you hold yourself together and keep moving, even though you feel like shattering. Don't stop. This is your healing. It doesn't have to be pretty, or graceful. You just have to keep moving
(Maxwell Diawuoh)
Sometimes it's better to just let things be, let people go, don't fight for closure, don't ask for explanations, don't chase answers
and don't expect people to understand where you're coming from

NSD today. Got up and did some aquarium maintenance and washed the rabbit litter trays (they get cleaned twice a day and washed weekly!). Hoovered, pottered about and then went to the gym for boxing class. My motivation is very low atm and I nearly cancelled but am glad I didn't as really enjoyed it.
Came home, had lunch and watched TV for an hour. Wrapped a few presents and put the shopping list together ready for delivery next week. My sister came round to do a quick gift exchange as well. Had a lovely hot bath while my veggie lasagne is cooking in the oven. I'm sure it's the only time the oven gets used, barely use it now we have the air fryer!7 -
Today I am grateful for making a yummy batch of treacle flapjack in the slow cooker, for an enjoyable and peaceful time at dc's fair where I made about £100, for DH making egg and chips for tea, for the extra strong pills from the Dr seeming to be doing their thing, for all the twinkly lights.
