Hugs apple and to anyone else who needs or wants on.
Yesterday I went downstairs (everyone else was asleep). I managed to collect 3 emptied bins and bring them back near the house. All had bags of items added to them (paper, cans and bottles). I've written down the bin schedule for the next 3 weeks.
The air was very cold and I had to rest in between collecting each bin. I heated a RM whilst doing the first bin and sat and ate it. Was too short of breath to empty the WM (may just put it back on to go again if it smells) I was hoping to go back down later but it didn't happen. Had brought something from the freezer back upstairs with me and that had enough calories to keep me going. I've just had a tub of potato salad for breakfast (the last of the items I brought up earlier in the week) as I don't feel able to get down the stairs (breathing today is brought to you by the letters V I and X). DS3 is downstairs but can only ask him for yoghurt or cheese - epic fail on my request for 'salad' last week. I have oranges and half a jar of mixed pickles.
I don't want to moan but I'm cold and working up to being able to have a shower (the dreaded moment when I have to take my layers off.) I've just dragged an extra layer onto the bed and I've wrapped a slim throw over my head and covered my ears. Found the warm socks but struggled to get one sock half on 3 days ago.
Trying to find a balance between getting overdue appointments in before Christmas. Will have to think of some housework hacks to cut down on what I have to do (I bought paper plates, bowls and cups so if I can clear the current pots I could have a free week between Christmas and New Year.
Grateful for bedspreads, vix, water
(was going to include jokes but they're just making me hungry)10 -
Today I am grateful for calamine lotion, for getting out for a walk before the rain, for a friend popping round with chocolate for me, for finally finishing 3 Hermiones, for my microwaveable polar bear.

Hugs @grandmanerd it sounds awful. Hope you start to feel better soon, or you can get to the dr so they can look you over.Busy day down the foodbank, our community fridge was closed today as well, so we ended up with a few unexpected walk-ins. All but one person was sorted out. It is the one person that I will remember though.Going to try and put up the tree tonight. I did all the food shopping - got quite annoyed at all the C-word branded utter tat. Bought mice pies for DH's students next week. Really annoyed the dairy free ones are twice the price of the 'normal' ones. The only difference is veg oil instead of butter! I only have brandy sozzled micemeat in the house or I would have made them for him, but he has a good few muslim students, so alcohol is out for them, and in for me!Got a few bargain tops in the c/s - 50p each! and a big cooking pot with a lid for £6. Hooray!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

@ladybird1106 I hope you managed to go to your light show and that you didn't get soaked.
@weenancyinAmerica I hope your dizziness has gone off. Fingers crossed for your husky adoption. Fancy her pining for him after just a couple of visits. Must be a good match in her mindLet's hope it all works out. You just want her to be looked after and have a lovely life.
@f0xh0les so sorry to hear about your one person at the food bank. You help so many but this must have been upsetting. Keep up your good work.
Sorry to hear you are still poorly @grandmanerd. Horrible being ill and cold. Keeping your head warm will help and I find a small fine scarf can really help keep the warmth in although your mask might make this a bit awkward.
Went to Sainsbugs to change a present that had turned out to be damaged. Lady on customer services was fantastic. Also bought a sparkly top for my mum so that she didn't have to go. Got home to find that although the hanger said size 12 some twit had put a size 10 on it. Rooky error on my part. I literally cried when I got home as i'd felt rough before I went.
Stripped my bed and remade it and vacced half of the bedroom. The rest is a scene of chaos. Ended up with migraine stressing over lots of things/commitments so had to go to bed for 2 hours and sleep it off. I keep losing vision in one eye, like a blank patch, but can't discuss it with anyone. Trying to work out what to do about it.
NSD1. Grateful for an empty house so that I could sleep in peace, the lovely lady at customer services, my special Robin cards turning up so i can write them. X

Ocular migraine or migraine aura is quite common, a couple of years ago my DH had a bad visual disturbance but without the headache, so he went off to A&E convinced he was having a stroke, they told him he was having a silent migraine. Every now and again I get a kind of pixelation, like looking through scales, in one bit of my vision. Get your blood pressure checked, and all that, but it is usually migraine related and not a lot to worry about*. Mention it at your next opticians appointment. They will be able to reassure you.*I am totally not medically trained4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

@Esmeralda2662 please speak to your optician or GP about your vision problem. Your health is too important to ignore, and you sound very stressedWork today, and the weather was foul, no urge to go anywhere (else) to spend anything, so NSD 2 for me.And I won £25 on the premium bonds
Very surprised, as I never win anything
Tried to transfer an ISA online at the end of last week, and I am not sure whether or not it went through. Apparently it can take up to 7 working days. If it hasn't done what I asked by the middle of next week I will need to go into a branch to sort it out. Luckily it is a building society and not a bank, and our small town has a branch in the high street!Grateful for a small win, and coming home to a warm house after being cold at work all day.9 -
Hugs to all those that are ill and those that just need one.
Didn't get to our light show as the weather was dreadful. Such a shame as we were really looking forward to it. It did free up several hours to do other things. Other things didn't happen as I fell asleep. I did take mil to pick up a dress, so my good deed for the day was accomplished.
Had 2 very wet walks with miss giddychops and no sugar consumed (day 1). I've put quite a bit of weight on this year and feel its better to start now than wait till the new year when I'd be even more fed up from putting more weight on.
DH has a very swollen knee due to falling on black ice at work, so not sure if he'll be at work tomorrow. Dedicated peas have been applied, so 🤞.
Lost nsd as needed new pants.

Hugs to all the ones under the weather, hope tomorrow is a better day for you all.
Enjoy visiting your mum @Esmeralda2662 in her snuggly house. We have a stove too & it warms our whole house.
Well done on your PB win @DawnW.
Was woken up at 2.40 by DS2 knocking on the front door! He'd been out walking in the garden by torchlight & DS1 must've been out smoking & locked the door behind him, not realising his brother was outside! Felt shattered on wakening after a broken sleep.
No ice today as had a slight breeze, which has since increased to gale force winds. Don't mind the wind though.
Work went well, stopped on the way home for my haircut. Pleased she didn't cut too much off this time! Had a nap for half an hour.
After tea, I shortened my dress for my work night out tomorrow. I got it at a clothes swap last Saturday, so didn't cost me anything 😃 had planned to practice styling my hair, etc but a customer messaged to ask if her dresses would be ready by Saturday (only dropped them off last Saturday!), do she could wear them to a photoshoot. Managed to get them done, but made sure I'd got my dress done first!
Had a soak in the bath & have now psi ted my nails, ready for tomorrow night.
Grateful for my hair not being chopped, no ice to drive or walk on, not making a mess of my nails, another chapter of my book readUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃
