Budgets set for the month. Feeling very in the spirit of the season for some reason. Maybe it’s because the tree is up and we have had snow - DS thrilled to get sledding! We have a busy month ahead, including: a birthday night out, a funeral, a work’s Christmas night out, lunch with a friend, OH’s dad having heart surgery, a school show, and of course Sprouts Day. It’s all happening here.Yesterday I also had my routine MRI scan and will get the results in 2 weeks. This month I will join the festivities, I’ll be sociable, I’ll even put on some lipstick! In between I’ll be giving myself some ‘me time’. Those quiet days will be about slowing down, and taking time to reflect and think. I sometimes feel life is so busy that I don’t have time to really think.Grateful for the NHS, for all of my close family being here, for having a safe and warm home, and for having more than enough.

Hello, I completely missed the link to the new thread! apologies for the delay! May I join in again @grandmanerd
? Thank you for setting up the new thread and also for the very inspiring opening post!
I feel in November I have done a bit better than October, so I feel December will be a good month for some of the routines!
I signed up for the NSD challenge again (15 days) and I am getting ready for the 1p a day challenge in 2024, very excited!
I was looking at my savings account today, and for the first time in many many months there is something there, instead of the desert, and I really believe these challenges, and especially this thread with all of your very relatable posts, are one of the main reasons I was able to do that, so I will start the month with a big big THANK YOU to all of you!

Spendy day as had to go shopping. Had a bizarre experience with an elderly gentleman telling me my car was his and opening the passenger door to get in whilst I was trying to reverse. Then he decided it wasn't his car and I wasn't his wife.
Very tired now as not stopped all day. Took Christmas tree down as local church Christmas tree festival had come to an end. Discussed ideas to get local community involved with local environmental issues with other members. Took friends dog out for a walk and then picked friends daughter up from railway station. Slumped on the sofa after eating a delicious but very calorific tea.
Love🐞
Grateful for being with like minded people, delicious food and waterproofs

Spendy day today, had to go into Central London for a job interview at my old employer. Paid for the ticket, and travelled up early because of the reduced service on the trains. Had lunch there beforehand while I sat and prepped. Met my friend afterwards for a drink, we both had interviews and weren't sure how it went, but it was good to debrief. No bother if it didn't go well but would be nice if it did.
Not much else to report, did my daily yoga first thing and a workout as well. As it was a spend day I took the chance to buy a couple of Christmas presents. I only have one person left to buy for, OH, who is always a nightmare lol.8 -
I’d like to echo @laura_lau and say a big thank you to all of you. The resilience, commitment, wisdom and strength of fellow turtles has motivated and inspired me over the last few years. This has to be the best group on the internet!Mum invited me along for lunch today but was missing an essential ingredient to her mince and tatties. So I spent some pennies on a tin of marrowfat peas.Had a busy day at work and a school parent council meeting this evening. Thankfully another parent offered me a lift home which saved me the 20 minutes walk in the dark, cold and rain up a very steep hill.Grateful today for Mum making me lunch, for another parent giving me a lift home, for a few extra pennies from V!ntD sales in my account, and for exceeding this year’s target for mortgage OPs.

The weather seemed milder at home, but by the time I got to.work, I realised my boots would be no use on all the ice! Put my foot out of the car & nearly took a lander!!
Work went ok & my salad filled me up for a while (got the same again prepped for tomorrow).
Once home, started putting new press studs on a duvet cover for a customer. Managed to get one side done, but could I do the other side?! Was feeling quite stressed about it! Put the tree up.after tea, took 3 attempts to find lights that work. Ended up using new outdoor icicle ones which I'd bought years ago from Tosco, reduced to £1.47 🤣. They're not perfect, but hubby will have s go at fixing some of the others tomorrow. He tackled the rest of the press-studs whilst I unpicked a replaced a coat zip, so that'll be 2 more bags out of our bedroom.
Grateful for not falling on the ice, the tree being up & my DH who is a great support & helpUse it up, wear it out
