Thanks Beanie - yes now on 2 morphine a day instead of 4 which is an improvement. I'm going to ring the Ward tomorrow though and explain I keep spiking a temp of up to 38.3 today - and on bad days 38.7. And explain about difficulties getting registered. I'd prefer to take 4 lots of morphine but at half the dose and perhaps some that are less than that to move onto. If that doesn't work out - may try either the national helpline or I have access to a private GP through work. There has to be a better system than it can take us 2 weeks to register you - and we don't care that you are in pain / drugged up etc - you have to physically come in to the practice with ID to register you.
I have emptied about 4 boxes from bedroom 2 today - which reflects my search for missing papers - and the fact I was feeling slightly better. This evening I found my passport - and earlier today found birth certificates. I suddenly had a mental image of a thin plastic box I'd been using for important papers - and once I had that picture I was able to find it. Driving licence is still missing but feels less urgent now I have my passport instead. I can now physically register... (Roll eyes). Of course I need a taxi to help me get around but hopefully if I avoid school times that should be available.
I now have nice crystal lights in my lounge, hall, dining area and art area. The handyman also changed the wardrobe door to open from the other side. Tomorrow and Friday we're hopefully doing mirrors, staircase rail improvements, pictures and outside lights depending on the weather.
I've advertised a job online to get a quote for a potential garage conversion - will let you know how I get on. One person is due to come tomorrow, while a second has asked for some photos so they can quote.
DS's 3D Mother's Day card arrived today.
I'm so glad I planted up my pots outside before I became ill as the daffodils, pink hellebores, primroses, and plants with berries are looking very pretty.
I also tried on a few clothes that hadn't fit me for years and had a positive outcome so that feels a real result from my recent weight loss. I am still losing weight but much more slowly. The good news is that it appears likely that my recent weight loss will be sustained. I have had a few different meals including salad and jacket spud, roast chicken etc - but still not majorly hungry. For brekkie I was only able to eat about a 1/4 of my porridge... I may try omelette with salsa tomorrow for something different - perhaps using up some of the chicken. I normally have things like that with cheese though - and I miss the latter as much as the chocolate! I had a pack of skips today and a couple of jaffa cakes so all is not lost.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

keep trying to rest and recuperate.
I hope you find the missing documents soon - it's a horrible feeling but I'm sure they will turn up.4 -
I know its a *stupid tax* but when I had to replace my DL (as it had slid unknown at the time, and almost unreachably down the side of a sofa) it was £20 and took a week. Failing that will they accept a photo - you may have had to provide this for some other formal/legal event - I would be amazed if you couldn't dig one upI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

If you have a photo of your licence just change your address on line, p.port is only needed for photo change.
Check on your proposed GP website about registering as a temp patient in the interim and if you've official proof of meds from previous Drs they work off that and possibly even ask the Dr to confirm while waiting records.

Well done on the weight loss, even if it's for not good reasons. Always a boost to fit into old clothes.
Glad you've found the passport and other papers, hope the driving licence turns up soon.

Thanks Blackcats, Mark, MF, Jwil and welcome back @doingitanyway
I rang the hospital - no joy. Rang GP practice to complain - resulting in them agreeing to register me and giving me an appointment today. Had a thorough exam. Came out with liquid morphine, 2 types of antibiotic, anti-sickness meds and some of my regular meds. She forgot to give me one that I mentioned - but can ask for that another day. Went by taxi - which cost me £19 return!!! Eeek.
I had a chicken omelette with 0% cottage cheese mixed with 2 eggs - but even with the salsa it felt very dry. Think will add more water to it next time. Other than that only had half a bowl of porridge, 1 slice of bread and banana and a couple of clementines. Tiny 38 cal pack of harib0 and a small pack of sk1ps... A tiny smoothie.
I've just done a food order for Saturday to Sains instead of Mr A for a bit of variety. Still struggling to eat. Hopefully the anti-sickness med will help - I'd cut back on it as I hardly had any left but now have a new supply. Will be able to make some fajita chicken at the weekend which if I can eat it would make a nice change. Also ordered some fruit bread for toasting. Will try making overnight oats again with low fat yoghurt and see if that helps...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I'm now trying a chicken salad sandwich and I seem to be having more luck than earlier in the day - maybe due to the extra meds. Want to try and get another antibiotic tablet in before bed - when I take my next painkillers.
Handyman fitted 3 more external lights today, put a mirror up in my lounge, swapped a mirror in my bedroom, filled some holes, put up the external hose organiser and fitted castors to my sit/stand desk to make it easier for me to move it around and be more independent later. He's due back for part of tomorrow and I will see what his availability is like after that. Slowly getting things more like I want them. He's doing joinery type stuff tomorrow or fitting light switches or a combination.
Sorry Beanie - I think Scotland is a bit far for him to travel - although I think you'd love him and his sense of humour.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
