You summed that up beautifully. Love it. - Just nicked this from another diary - but it is a good reminder. I need to get more disciplined with money again.WelshmansDaughter said:I think it had always been something I have been trying to get at, the idea of meaningful money. Where it supports you to have the life you want and is a part of the fabric of your life rather than the entirety of it.
I need to move to carrying only debit cards with me - and set more defined limits for things again instead of treating my whole budget as a suggestion which I've fallen into lulled by having 'savings / EF' of a decent size for the first time in my life.savingholmes said:I am trying to create memorable experiences that make me feel more aliveKajiKita said:😊 I’m impressed by your focused drive for living ❤️
It's done me good to read back over the year and see how many obstacles I've overcome. Although I recently put half a stone back on - I'm still 3.5 stone better than I was 3 years ago. It's good to track what got done - and as Watty said, not just what is left to do.
Seeing the photos of different places I've been in the UK and in Italy was also uplifting - and a reminder of how I stretched my comfort zone this year to include travel abroad which felt impossible at the start of the year. It's also a reminder of the beautiful places close at hand. The dawn and sky photos from my own home are stunning. I wake up every day grateful for the view. DD ended up following me to be within a 20-30 minute drive which has also worked out well.
I'm also pleased that I successfully did a course and passed 2 exams despite not feeling at my best. I have been struggling - but I have maintained a positive reputation at work for the quality of my work - even when I have struggled - I prioritised well.
The art class which was only 6 weeks - and the 5 or 6 life drawing group sessions I went to have seriously bumped my art up a notch for which I'm really grateful. I didn't go to the local group this week as the roads were treacherous - but hopefully I can start going to that soon and make friends locally. I'm starting to build bridges with the neighbours too. It will be interesting to see what the next year brings.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
