Yesterday I tried to do some life admin - My current phone provider can't match the online mobile sim only deals so I will need to switch. However I daren't risk changing sim at this point as I don't want to miss calls due to the move - and need to update bank account address details and stuff and would rather do all that first. So I've bought an extra 12GB for one month instead for £30 which felt extortionate - and will then switch elsewhere.
I've updated my signature closer to what it will be post Tuesday - which is full steam ahead for trying to be mortgage neutral and financially self-sustaining by mid 2030. Hopefully that will then allow me to pursue art and writing full time if I choose. I've played around with spreadsheets a bit and filled in a pension form to start £2K a month AVCs from March payday and will see how I go on with that and what it does to my take home pay. Still need to post it. Having a full year EF from Tuesday - means I should be fine with the reduced take home pay - even if the odd month when car bills etc are due I need to dip into savings.
Beanie - I note your comment a while ago about bifold doors being heavy - so will try the ones sis has before making a decision. BIL thinks mine are fixable at the new house - they don't slide well and the lock I think is broken - it's wedged shut. I'm not sure whether any of the glass itself needs replacing.
Because I will also have savings for doing up the house - gutters, fascia, patio doors, electrics, flooring and the like - my savings pots are due to be very healthy until I do that. I'm currently fighting against big style fritter spending on other items on my wish list like new laptop, tablet, ottoman bed, furniture, online courses etc - and am trying to pace myself - and ideally get quotes for the building works first so I know how much free money I'm likely to have out of the rough max budget I set myself for that kind of post move spending. But if I fail to wait - please go easy on me!!
Relatives suggested I might want to treat myself to a nice holiday - by which I assume they mean abroad - as they love going abroad. While some sun would be lovely - I'm not sure there's anyone I would want to go with - and don't feel I'd cope alone currently. The forthcoming concert is a stand-in for that. Later in the year if my MH is more stable post the stress of moving then I can consider it. I need to get used to my new home for a while before I'd want to go away. I'm due to have a night or two away in March when I go and see DS.
Right I'd best get back to it and then this evening I need to work on that report.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Brilliant news about exchanging, all systems go!
Just wondering if your thirst might be related to the juice you are drinking, I just find if I drink juice, I have to then drink as much water soon after. Not sure if it's due to the amount of acid in juice?

Hi Lelly - that would make sense - as it's when I started drinking that more - the more extreme thirst happened. I forget orange juice can be a diuretic!! Thank you. Best scale back then! I love the taste of it - and very few pubs stock it these days.
I found a wheeled mover thing and have put a few more things in the garage - and sealed a few more boxes. Slow going today despite there not being that much left to do or perhaps because of it.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

About the possibility of a holiday. Have you thought of the escorted kind. Like Saga but not as that may be thought of as for older even though not always. A friend has been going on them (not saga) for years. She has been to Australia & gone to what used to be Ayres Rock on the back of a motor bike & up Machu Picchu in Peru, check your iron levels before going there. What I mean is it doesn't have to be a fortnight in Tenerife & it doen't have to be alone. The sky is the limit, although don't go to the sky unless you know that your iron levels are high for this country as normal for this country up machu picchu will lead to altitude sickness. And just think of the views.

Lots of progress being made

Thanks BM. Something to think about it. Perhaps send me a private message with more details on what you are thinking of.
I need a lot of time alone so doubt I'd cope with coach trips or a cruise. Machu P is on my long term bucket list - but I'd need to lose about 40% of my weight to be fit enough to go there. Rome and Venice are on my long term list as are Barcelona and Lisbon.
It's the airport part that freaks me out and the airplane rather than necessarily when I'm there. I can generally tell how good my MH is by how far I'm willing to travel... Even going down to see DS is a push currently. Things will settle. I have considered going on the E train or even driving myself and going in the tunnel and going to Paris or Brussels or similar. I have a high need for control and the familiar - and have been to both of those before which helps. I have driven abroad in the past with family and even occasionally flown alone with work (about 15 years ago!) - although I doubt I could do it for anything less than an emergency right now. When DS was living abroad - I paid his ticket for him to come and see me as I felt I'd be too claustrophobic on the plane. My last trip abroad was 7 years ago I think.
I've done more packing - including some very fragile lamps that I'm hoping survive the move. Done my washing and it's in the drier. Had some porridge for brekkie and macaroni just now. I've got the dishwasher on. I need to get on with that report... Still procrastinating / doing other things instead.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Yay for exchanging! I’m viewing your 4 day gap between exchange and completion as compete luxury you realise after our two day panic! 😁 Seriously though - brilliant news - I was quietly confident that things would work out as it really is incredibly rare that completion dates have to be changed due to failed exchanges. It is ludicrously nervewracking though, I certainly know that!Remember if drinking a lot of juice based drinks to both drink water and allow a good gap before tooth brushing - tasty they might be, but good for tooth enamel they are not!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
