I am so pleased you exchanged before the weekend. Years ago it used to be there was a few weeks between exchange and completion but for so many it now seems that they happen almost simultaneously. Good your DS can come along and support you on the day. Great news! All coming to plan
It must be fun playing with your spreadsheets on the money difference and how you are going to use it for your future
how much are you planning to put aside for a new home Reno pot? Is there much to do?Is it mainly decor or are you planning new kitchens etc at some point ?Take a moment to thank your old house when you leave - for the protection, for the roof, for a place to raise your kids and now a place that you have money to invest in your pension
- you have done a great job

No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Yes hopefully one way or another I'll get the washer sorted. The soup went down okay yesterday - but I didn't add the protein. I feel desperately thirsty currently (not sugar related as recent test) - but struggling to eat normal food still. Hopefully it will settle down post move - but could just be my adhd meds - in which case I welcome the easy weight loss!
I've managed to use one box as a cover on another box (times quite a few) and then taped them together to help protect some of my paintings where they are just too tall for the available boxes. I've therefore managed to move 2 boxes of paintings out of my lounge. Next I'll try and move an ultra tall box that the bubble wrap came in into the garage - I'll need to temporarily take some of the pictures out to be able to move it but it will clear the decks a lot and make this room less overwhelming. As far as I know I only have 2 pictures and 2-3 mirrors to pack (from that category) now. 1 is one I bought and it's too big - so I'll pack it last and probably put it in my car to take. 1 is the final picture in the lounge and I'm not sure I can bear to pack it yet. It will fit nicely into the box the boxes came in.
There are also lots of loose bubble wrapped paintings which I still need to decide what I'm doing with. As DS is coming down in a car - presumably small - it should still fit some essentials in like my survival box, food, highly breakable items etc - leaving room in my book for the more fragile/unboxed paintings and mirrors and glass items. Not convinced I'll risk those with the movers.
The metal laundry type baskets that I bought a couple of weeks ago from Ikea turn out to be great for standing spades and stuff up in so that's my plan for those now.
Still not continued my report. I'm a great believer that tasks expand / shrink to fit the time available so it should work out. Really hope so or boss won't be happy!!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
