EssexHebridean said:Breathe. And don't stress over much over the "X days to order the funds" - it's perfectly possible for them to be ordered on the basis of a completion date being expected as X - they just get sent back if not used - but almost invariably they are. That's what Mr Boss did with ours.
Just keep working towards the completion date you have all agreed on - you know from my experience that the other side messing about on exchange can end perfectly well - even if it does well and truly increase the stress!
(ES - as a rule the solicitors DO stress the importance of things like getting money transferred in good time, but you know that phrase about leading a horse to water...?!)
SH as EH says don't worry too much about mortgage funds if date for completion already agreed. DD had just the 2 days between exchange and completion to sort out movers etc but it got done.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. I know all about buyers with shockingly poor solicitors ES - you may remember ours were beyond the pale! In spite of this though, we got there! And yes - two days for us as well in the end. Reading this about buying makes me so grateful. I have bought 4 times now & have never needed to move in straight away. Never moving again unless I win the lottery & then I won't have to move immediately after buying.

Thanks @enthusiasticsaver EH, CCW007, Beanie and BM
Yes they are in rented - but they lied about their end date being January which I suspected - and their real date is February. They want to put in laminate upstairs etc between completion and the move date.
My sellers' solicitors are still saying the move is on for Tuesday - the lack of contract exchange is ultra irritating. I felt a bit better after my steak and chips and after venting at work - luckily no-one talked to me properly until I'd eaten as I was in danger of ripping someone's head off. It's a long while since I've felt so angry!! I'm known for seeming really calm regardless of how I'm feeling - but they wouldn't have got a calm response today. I bought a couple of my fave B55s from a pub unopened to bring home on my way back. I've agreed with my boss I'll focus mainly on packing - and work at the weekend to catch up if needed to get the piece of work done. I'll feel a bit better when everything is more organised.
My boss suggested I go ahead with the post redirection as it's more likely to go ahead than not. Still frustrated though.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

That is so frustrating, I hope the buyers sort themselves out!

I would go ahead with the post redirect - it's going to be easier to ask your seller to put it to one side than to ask your buyers to forward anything on.Start mortgage date: August 2022; Start mortgage amount: £240,999; Original mortgage free date: August 2056

How frustrating for you. If there was a stress-o-meter for house moving, then the last few days before exchange would ping up to the top of the scale! Hopefully you get the certainty of exchange very, very soon.3

This sounds all v stressful - I am v aware as a FTB that I dont know the process but surely one hires professionals to couch one thru it and be told important dates - maybe send them the MSE FTB buyers guide
I am not looking forward to all this paperwork though I am organised - I know when there is a chain it can become a nightmare...
Just keep breathingDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

I second Blackcats. I remember the days leading up to exchange when we were buying the Fortunate homestead - very stressful. Hang on in there SH. It will all be worth it.
